Description
直径8mmのドリル、直径10mmのボールソリッドエンドミルおよびインデキサブルインサート(indexable insert)を、10重量%のCoおよび残部WCの組成を持つ超硬合金から作製した。これら3の異なる種類の工具を、陰極アーク蒸着を利用して非周期的な多層(Ti,Al,Cr,Si)N被膜で被覆した。被膜の厚さは、特定の工具およびその用途に合わせて調整した。多層構造は、非周期的構造を得るために配置された3重回転式基材テーブルに工具を載せて、2種の異なる化学組成を持つ2組のアークターゲットから堆積させた。アーク蒸着はAr+N2雰囲気中で実施した。堆積の後、ドリル表面の被膜にウェットブラスト処理を施した。
実施例1により作製したドリルを、実施例2により作製したドリルと比較した。各ドリルタイプの2つのドリルを、以下の切削条件の間に、底穴ドリル加工で試験した。

- 基材および被膜を含み、前記被膜が、金属窒化物の個別層XおよびYが交互積層して成る非周期的な多層構造を有する被覆切削工具であって、前記被膜の平均組成が、(Ti(1-a-b-c)AlaCrbSic)Nであり、0.05<a<0.4、0.02<b<0.10、0.01<c<0.17、a+b+c<1であり、
前記個別層の平均厚さが1nmより大で30nmより小であり、
前記多層構造が交互積層した個別層(Ti,Si)Nおよび(Al,Cr)Nを含む、
ことを特徴とする被覆切削工具。 - 0.25<a<0.3であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 0.02<c<0.10であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 0.04<c<0.08であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 多層構造中の任意の10の連続層の和が300nmより小さいことを特徴とする請求項1から4までのいずれか1項に記載の方法。
