低伝導の高温材料の安定したFSW処理において優れた品質の溶接部を作り出す機能、
(溶接過熱が限定因子である)従来のFSWと比較して改良された低伝導の高温材料の溶接速度、
回転プローブのみを用いて、溶接部を通じての熱入力が均一にバランスがとれていることによる、従来のFSWと比較して改良された溶接ルート品質、
バランスをとって配分された溶接部の熱によるFSWツールの磨耗が低減及び改善されたツールの寿命の可能性を含む。

Claims (14)
- 摩擦撹拌ツールの回転プローブを、アルミニウムの融点よりも高い融点とアルミニウムの熱伝導率よりも低い伝導率を有する低伝導で高融点の金属又は金属合金であるワークピース又は一組のワークピースの間の接合領域に入れることを含む摩擦撹拌方法であって、
前記プローブが前記ワークピースと接触する単一の肩部から伸び、前記肩部に対して回転し、
前記肩部が前記ワークピースに対して回転しない、
ことを特徴とする摩擦撹拌方法。 - 前記ワークピース間の接合線に沿って前記ツールを移動させることをさらに含むことを特徴とする、一組のワークピースを接合する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ワークピースに設定される線に沿って前記ツールを移動させることをさらに含むことを特徴とする、ワークピースを加工処理する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記肩部がスライド部材を画定することを特徴とする請求項2又は3に記載の方法。
- 前記肩部が、隣接するワークピースの1つ又は複数の表面に合うように形作られることを特徴とする請求項1−4のいずれかひとつに記載の方法。
- 前記肩部と前記ワークピース間の領域に遮蔽ガスを供給することを特徴とする請求項1−5のいずれかひとつに記載の方法。
- 前記肩部と前記ワークピース間の領域に冷却剤及び/又は潤滑剤を供給することを特徴とする請求項1−6のいずれかひとつに記載の方法。
- 前記肩部が1つを越える部品から構成され、前記プローブ近傍の部品が、アルミニウムの融点よりも高い融点を有することを特徴とする請求項1−7のいずれかひとつに記載の方法。
- 前記又は各ワークピースが、
チタン及び合金
鉄、鋼鉄及びその他の合金
ニッケル及び合金
バナジウム及び合金
クロム及び合金
マンガン及び合金
コバルト及び合金
ジルコニウム及び合金
パラジウム及び合金
ハフニウム及び合金

を含むグループから選択されることを特徴とする請求項1−8のいずれかひとつに記載の方法。 - 前記ワークピースが異なる材料からできていることを特徴とする、請求項1−9のいずれかひとつに記載の一組のワークピースを接合する方法。
- 前記プローブが、前記ツールが接合線の終端部に近づくにつれて、回転しながら引っ込み、一方で前記肩部は前記ワークピースと接触したままであることを特徴とする少なくとも請求項2又は3に記載の方法。
- 前記金属又は金属合金の融点が700℃を越えることを特徴とする請求項1−11のいずれかひとつに記載の方法。
- 前記金属又は金属合金の熱伝導率が250W/mKに満たないことを特徴とする請求項1−12のいずれかひとつに記載の方法。
- 請求項1−13のいずれかひとつに記載の方法により接合された低伝導で高融点の金属又は金属合金の一組のワークピース。
