Description
本出願は、2005年10月6日に出願した仮出願シリアル番号60/724,032および2006年3月3日に出願した仮出願シリアル番号60/779,013の出願日の利益を主張するものである。
本発明は、吸収性製品が水、体液(例えば、血液、尿)等でいつ濡れたかを指示することができる組成物、かかる組成物を使用する物品、および物品が濡れたかどうかを決定する方法に関する。
本発明は、吸収性物品における液体の存在を指示する組成物に、かかる組成物を用いた吸収性物品に、かかる組成物を用いて吸収性物品における液体の存在を指示する方法に向けられている。
ここで用いる用語「熱可塑性ポリマー組成物」は、可逆的に、加熱されたときに軟化あるいは融解し、冷却されたとき再び固化することのできるポリマー組成物を意味する。
本発明に用いられる水不溶性の熱可塑性ポリマー組成物は、本組成物に結合能力を付与する。水および塩水に耐性であるので、熱可塑性ポリマー組成物はこれらの液体に曝されても顕著に劣化することはない。その結果、かかる濡れ指示組成物は、これらの液体の存在下で溶けない。
本発明に有用なSAPは、水、体液(例えば、尿、血液)等のような液体を大量に吸収することができる水膨潤性ヒドロゲル形成性吸収性ポリマーを包含する。さらに、SAPは、かかる吸収された液体を中程度の圧力の下で保持することができる。典型的に、SAPは、自重の何倍もの水を吸収し、好ましくは自重の少なくとも50倍、より好ましくは少なくとも100倍、最も好ましくは少なくとも150倍の水を吸収する。さらに、SAPは、負荷の下で良好な塩水吸収性と、高い塩水吸収能力を示す。典型的に、SAPは、その自重の少なくとも10倍、好ましくは少なくとも30倍、より好ましくは少なくとも50倍の塩水を吸収する。SPAは、その自重の何倍もの水および/または塩水を吸収するが、これらの液体に溶解することはない。
本発明で使用する濡れインジケータは、指示剤とpH調整剤を含む。濡れインジケータは、pH変化に応答して色を変え、それにより例えば水または塩水の存在を明示する。色を迅速に変えるので、酸−塩基濡れインジケータが好ましい。好ましいインジケータは、明るい、鮮明な色に変わるものである。
本発明で使用する界面活性剤は、熱可塑性成分の表面張力および/または接触角を減少させる。界面活性剤は、熱可塑性成分の総重量の約0.5重量%〜約50重量%、好ましくは約5重量%〜約25重量%にわたる量で有用である。好適な界面活性剤には、アニオン系、アニオン系、およびシリコーン界面活性剤が含まれる。アニオン系界面活性剤の例は:(i)ジノニルフェノールの10モルエトキシレートであるイリノイ州グルニーのPPGインダストリーズから入手できる商品名マコールDNP−10の下で販売されているものおよびオクチルフェノールの10マルエトキシレートであるユニオン・カーバイドから入手できる商品名トリトン(Triton)X−100の下で販売されているもののような、C1〜C18、好ましくはC8〜C9アルキルもしくはジアルキルフェノールのエトキシレート、(ii)ハンツマン・ケミカル社から入手できるドデカノールの8モルエトキシレートである商品名サーフォニックL−12−8の下で販売されているもの、およびオクラホマ州タルサのペトロライト・スペシャルティー・ポリマーズ・グループから入手できる38モルエトキシレート結晶性界面活性剤である商品名ユニソックス(Unithox)の下で販売されているもののような、アルキルC8〜C60モノアルコールのエトキシレート、および(iii)BASFから入手できる200〜3000のMnを有するエチレンオキシド/プロピレンオキシドブロックコポリマーである商品名プルロニック(Pluronic)の下で販売されているもののような、プロピレンオキシドポリマーのエトキシレート、並びに、ベルシコール・ケミカルからXP1010として市販されている、約3当量の安息香酸を4当量のジエチレングリコールと縮合させた生成物のような、ベンゾエートである。好ましいノニオン系界面活性剤ブレンドは、ICIサーファクタンツ(ICI Surfactants)(デラウェア州ウィルミントン)から入手できるアトマー(Atmer)685である。
本発明で有用なナノクレー粉末は、100μmの最大寸法を有するクレーの顆粒または小板を含む乾燥顆粒状組成物を包含する。好ましくは、それらは、200ナノメートル(nm)の最大寸法を有するクレーから誘導される。本発明で有用な好ましいナノクレーは、クレーの個々の小板のクラスタを含む。個々の小板は、水のような膨潤剤と接触したとき互いに分離する。
一般的調製
本発明による一連の濡れ指示組成物を調製した。水不溶性熱可塑性ポリマー組成物、超吸収性ポリマーおよび界面活性剤を有するプレミックス組成物を調製した。ついで、ステアリン酸と指示剤のブレンドを調整して濡れインジケータを形成した。次に、これを、プレミックス組成物と混合して濡れ指示組成物を形成した。
2 シルバレズ(Sylvarez)ZT5100は、フロリダ州ジャクソンビルのアリゾナ・ケミカルズから入手できる粘着付与樹脂である。
3 ベンゾフレックス352は、イリノイ州ローズマウントのベルシコールから入手できるベンゾエート可塑剤である。
4 ニフレックス222Bは、スウェーデン国ストックホルムのニナス・ナフテニクス(Nynas Naphthenics)ABから入手できるプロセス油である。
5 ベクター4211は、テキサス州ヒューストンのデキスコ・ポリマーズから入手できるスチレン系ブロックコポリマーである。
6 イルガノックス1010は、ニューヨーク州ホーソーンのチバ・ガイギから入手できるヒンダードフェノール酸化防止剤である。
7 ローダカルDS10は、ニュージャージー州クランベリーのローヌ・プーランから入手できるドデシルベンゼンスルホン酸ナトリウムである。
8 アクアキープ10SHNF20は、住友精化社(日本)から入手できるポリアクリル酸ナトリウム超吸収性ポリマーである。
9 HL−1500Xは、ミネソタ州セントポールのH.B.フラー(Fuller)社から入手できるスチレン系ブロックコポリマーに基づく接着剤である。
10 NW1078Aは、ミネソタ州セントポールのH.B.フラー社から入手できる、ブロックコポリマー/SAPポリマーブレンド由来の吸収性ホットメルトである。
11 HL−8150XZPは、ミネソタ州セントポールのH.B.フラー社から入手できるスチレン系ブロックコポリマーに基づく接着剤である。
12 HL−1696XZPは、ミネソタ州セントポールのH.B.フラー社から入手できるスチレン系ブロックコポリマーに基づく接着剤システムである。
13 クロイサイト10Aは、ロックウッド・スペシャルティーズ社のサザーン・クレー・プロダクツ・ディビジョンから入手できる表面修飾ナノクレーである。
すべての成分をアルミニウム缶に量り入れ、該原料のほとんどが溶融するまで160〜175℃のオーブン中で加熱する。ついで、この缶を加熱マントル内に置き、内容物を、滑らかな均質混合物が得られるまで少なくとも1.5〜2時間攪拌する。
溶融させた(140〜150℃)プレミックス(例1〜6)に、または溶融させたHL−1696XZP(例7)に、SASPを、当該混合物が滑らかになるまで攪拌しながら小分けして加えた。ついで、ローダカルDS10を添加し、十分に混合されるまで攪拌した。ついで、ステアリン酸を添加し、滑らかになるまで攪拌した。ついで、この混合物を、この温度で追加の15分間混合した。ついで、指示剤(ブロモクレゾールグリーン)を添加し、この温度で15分間混合した。ドローダウンバーを用いて、リリースペーパー上にフィルムとして1ミルの厚さ(25μm)に引き伸ばした。
色変化
上記フィルムの部分に2.5mlの水または塩水を加える。色変化の時間と実際の色変化を観察し、書き留めた。
市販の濡れインジケータストライプを備える市販のオムツを4インチ(10cm)×6(15cm)インチサイズの片に切断した。ついで、実験室で作製した試料または比較試料のストリップ(オムツにおける既存のストライプのものの通りの試料サイズおよび寸法)を既存のストライプの1cm以内に置いた。ついで、すべてのサイドを、スコッチ(登録商標)ブランド373のような透明な包装テープを用いて閉じた。ついで、得られたプロトタイプのオムツを100F(37℃)/90%相対湿度に維持された湿気チャンバにほぼ24時間置いた。試料を色変化について点検した。
Claims (6)
- 架橋アクリレートポリマー、ビニルアルコール−アクリレートコポリマーの架橋生成物、マレイン酸無水物でグラフト化されたポリビニルアルコールの架橋生成物、アクリレート−メタクリレートコポリマーの架橋生成物、アクリル酸メチル−酢酸ビニルコポリマーの架橋けん化生成物、スターチアクリレートグラフトコポリマーの架橋生成物、スターチアクリロニトリルグラフトコポリマーの架橋けん化生成物、カルボキシメチルセルロースポリマーの架橋生成物、およびイソブチレン−マレイン酸無水物コポリマーの架橋生成物、並びにそれらの組み合わせより成る群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の超吸収性ポリマー、少なくとも1種の水不溶性熱可塑性ポリマー組成物および少なくとも1種の濡れインジケータを、容器中で一緒に組み合わせる工程、ついでこれら成分を、加熱下に、均一な組成物が得られるまで混合する工程を含む方法によって得られ、前記濡れインジケータは、指示剤およびpH調整剤を含む濡れ指示組成物。
- 界面活性剤、およびナノクレー粉末からなる群の中から選ばれる少なくとも1種の追加の物質をさらに含む請求項1に記載の濡れ指示組成物。
- 前記水不溶性熱可塑性ポリマー組成物が、粘着付与剤および可塑剤からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の追加の物質をさらに含む請求項1に記載の濡れ指示組成物。
- (a)前記超吸収性ポリマー、前記水不溶性熱可塑性ポリマー組成物および前記濡れインジケータを、容器中で組み合わせる工程、および
(b)これら成分を、加熱下に、均一な組成物が得られるまで混合する工程
を含む、請求項1に記載の濡れ指示組成物を製造する方法。 - 表面の一部に請求項1に記載の組成物を有する基材を備える使い捨て吸収性物品。
- オムツ、女性用ナプキン、包帯、並びに人用および動物用寝具からなる群から選ばれる請求項5に記載の使い捨て吸収性物品。
