Description
前記樹脂組成物は、前記環状オレフィン系樹脂を15質量%から30質量%、前記高密度ポリエチレンと前記低密度ポリエチレン及び/又は直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとの合計量として70質量%から85質量%含有する高周波通信用同軸ケーブル。
以下、本発明の同軸ケーブルの必須成分となる環状オレフィン系樹脂について説明する。環状オレフィン系樹脂は、低誘電正接、低比誘電率、発泡成形性、低吸水性、耐側圧性等の性質を有するため、同軸ケーブルに用いる絶縁層に含む材料として好ましい。本発明に用いられる環状オレフィン系樹脂は、環状オレフィン成分を共重合成分として含むものであり、環状オレフィン成分を主鎖に含むポリオレフィン系樹脂であれば、特に限定されるものではない。例えば、
(a1)環状オレフィンの付加重合体又はその水素添加物、
(a2)環状オレフィンとα−オレフィンの付加共重合体又はその水素添加物、
(a3)環状オレフィンの開環(共)重合体又はその水素添加物、を挙げることができる。
(a4)上記(a1)〜(a3)の樹脂に、極性基を有する不飽和化合物をグラフト及び/又は共重合したもの。
本発明に好ましく用いられる環状オレフィン成分とエチレン等の他の共重合成分との付加重合体の共重合成分となる炭素数2〜20のα−オレフィンは、特に限定されるものではない。例えば、エチレン、プロピレン、1−ブテン、1−ペンテン、1−へキセン、3−メチル−1−ブテン、3−メチル−1−ペンテン、3−エチル−1−ペンテン、4−メチル−1−ペンテン、4−メチル−1−へキセン、4,4−ジメチル−1−ヘキセン、4,4−ジメチル−1−ペンテン、4−エチル−1−へキセン、3−エチル−1−ヘキセン、1−オクテン、1−デセン、1−ドデセン、1−テトラデセン、1−ヘキサデセン、1−オクタデセン、1−エイコセン等を挙げることができる。また、これらのα−オレフィン成分は、1種単独でも2種以上を同時に使用してもよい。これらの中では、エチレンの単独使用が最も好ましい。
本発明に好ましく用いられる環状オレフィン成分とエチレン等の他の共重合成分との付加重合体において、共重合成分となる一般式(I)で示される環状オレフィン成分について説明する。
本発明の組成物に特に好ましく用いられる(a2)環状オレフィンとα−オレフィンの付加共重合体は、上記の〔1〕炭素数2〜20のα−オレフィン成分と、〔2〕一般式(I)で示される環状オレフィン成分以外に、本発明の目的を損なわない範囲で、必要に応じて他の共重合可能な不飽和単量体成分を含有していてもよい。
本発明の同軸ケーブルの必須成分となる高密度ポリエチレン、低密度ポリエチレン、直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンについて説明する。高密度ポリエチレンは、誘電正接が小さいため、同軸ケーブル内の絶縁層に用いる材料として好ましい。低密度ポリエチレン及び直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンは、可撓性を有するため、同軸ケーブル内の絶縁層に用いる材料として好ましい。
本発明の同軸ケーブル内の絶縁層には、その特性を損なわない範囲で、必要に応じて、その他の熱可塑性樹脂、各種配合剤等を添加することができる。他の樹脂としては、例えば、他のポリオレフィン系樹脂、ポリスチレン系樹脂、フッ素樹脂等が例示される。これらの他の樹脂は単独で又は2種以上組み合わせてもよい。さらに、同軸ケーブルの可撓性が必要とされる場合には、エラストマーを環状ポリオレフィン系樹脂に添加すると好ましい。添加されるエラストマーは同軸ケーブルの減衰量等の特性を損なわないものであれば特に限定されないが、例えば、ポリオレフィン系エラストマーやスチレン系エラストマーが好ましい。特に、ポリオレフィン系エラストマーは減衰量と可撓性のバランスを取る上で好ましい。また、配合剤としては、安定剤(酸化防止剤又は抗酸化剤、耐重金属安定剤、紫外線吸収剤、熱安定剤等)、帯電防止剤、難燃剤、難燃助剤、着色剤(染料や顔料等)、潤滑剤、可塑剤、滑剤、離型剤、結晶核剤、ドリッピング防止剤、架橋剤等が例示される。同軸ケーブルの絶縁層は導体である銅等の金属と接触するので、耐重金属安定剤を添加することが好ましい。耐重金属安定剤としては、サリチル酸誘導体(例えば、商品名ADKSTAB CDA6)、ヒドラジド誘導体(例えば、商品名Irganox MD1024)、シュウ酸アミド誘導体(例えば、商品名Naugard XL−1)、イオウ含有ホスファイト化合物(例えば、商品名Hostanox OSP−1)等が例示されるが、同軸ケーブルの特性を損なわないものであれば耐重金属安定剤の種類は特に限定されない。耐重金属安定剤の添加量についても特に限定されないが、通常は、樹脂成分に対して0.3質量%以下の添加量が好ましく用いられる。添加方法については特に限定されないが、環状ポリオレフィン系樹脂、ポリエチレン樹脂、他の添加樹脂等に予め添加するとさらに好ましい。
同軸ケーブルの構成は特に限定されないが、例えば、最も一般的な例として内部導体と、絶縁層と、外部導体と、シースと、からなる同軸ケーブルが挙げられる。本明細書中の「樹脂組成物を発泡成形させた層を絶縁層として備え」とは、内部導体上に被覆形成された絶縁層である。一般的な同軸ケーブルでは、その絶縁層上に電磁シールド等のための外部導体を被覆形成し、さらにその上にシースを被覆形成する。
本発明の同軸ケーブルを製造する方法は特に限定されず一般的な方法を用いることができる。例えば、押出機による同軸ケーブルの製造が挙げられる。なお、押出機の種類は例えば、二軸押出機、単軸押出機、あるいはこれらを連結してガス注入と被覆の機能を付与させることも可能である。

下記表2に示す樹脂配合で、発泡度、圧縮強度、水分透過率、比誘電率、減衰量を測定した。
発泡度は下記で説明する同軸ケーブルの製造段階で、比重法で測定した。発泡前の樹脂密度と、発泡体の密度を測定し上記式(1)を用いて測定した。
表2に示した樹脂組成物をブレンドし、シリンダーCの温度を200℃、ダイスDの温度195℃に設定した押出装置(図1)を用いて窒素ガスで発泡させたシートを押出成形した。ブレンドした組成物はホッパーAより投入し、シリンダー中央部のミキシング部Bより窒素ガスを注入した。シート厚みは5mmとなるように成形した。
ISO 10156−1(差圧法)に即して、測定器にLabthink社製 VAC−V2 差圧法気体浸透装置を用いて測定した。
図2に示す同軸ケーブル製造装置を用いて、内部導体(銅線)への発泡絶縁層を形成した。最初に、導体加熱機6側のクロスヘッドダイ7の内部導体挿入口を閉じて、表2に示す樹脂配合で第一押出機のホッパー3に樹脂を投入し、樹脂を溶融混練しながら発泡剤圧入口4から窒素ガスを圧入して、その混合物を第二押出機2に注入した。第二押出機2でさらに溶融混練した混合物はクロスヘッドダイ7に注入され、冷却装置8、引取り機9を通して内部導体を含まない発泡絶縁体を得た。その発泡絶縁体の密度測定を行い、所定の発泡度になるように窒素ガスの圧力を調整して、発泡絶縁体の発泡条件を決定した。なお、第一押出機1及び第二押出機2の設定温度はTOPAS8007F−04とZEONOR 1060Rを含む樹脂配合の場合と比較例の場合は200℃に、TOPAS6013S−04を含む樹脂配合の場合は215℃に、TOPAS6015S−04を含む樹脂配合の場合は230℃にそれぞれ設定した。発泡度の調整は高密度ポリエチレン単体を用いた比較例1を除いて、80%〜90%の発泡度を設定できたが、比較例1の場合は発泡度が上がらず発泡度を40%にした。ここで得られた内部導体を含まない発泡絶縁体は比誘電率測定に用いた。

前記樹脂組成物は、前記環状オレフィン系樹脂を15質量%から30質量%、前記高密度ポリエチレンと前記低密度ポリエチレン及び/又は直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンとの合計量として70質量%から85質量%含有する高周波通信用同軸ケーブル。 - 前記樹脂組成物中の前記低密度ポリエチレン及び直鎖状低密度ポリエチレンの合計量が20質量%から40質量%である請求項1に記載の高周波通信用同軸ケーブル。
- 前記環状オレフィン系樹脂が、環状オレフィンとα−オレフィンとの共重合体又はその水素添加物である請求項1又は2に記載の高周波通信用同軸ケーブル。
- 前記環状オレフィン系樹脂は、1GHzから10GHzの周波数領域における比誘電率が2.2以上2.3以下、誘電正接が2×10 −4 以上4×10−4以下、室温における曲げ弾性率が2.0GPa以上3.5GPa以下である請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の高周波通信用同軸ケーブル。
