Description
本出願は、米国特許法第119条(e)項により、2000年6月5日にすべて出願された米国特許仮出願第60/209468号、第60/209250号、第60/209443号及び第60/209444号の優先権、及び米国特許法第119条(e)項により、2000年11月9日に出願された米国特許仮出願第60/247531号の優先権を主張する。
本発明は、湿式で洗濯可能な布地及びドライクリーニング可能な布地の双方の改善された洗浄及び/又は皺の軽減及び/又は皺の除去及び/又は香り付けを達成する方法に関する。本発明は、布地を水性蒸気及び親油性流体にさらすことによって行われる。
衣服のような布地物品の洗浄及び処理に関する従来の洗濯技術には、長い間、伝統的な水を主体とした洗濯及び一般に「ドライクリーニング」と呼ばれる技術が関わってきた。伝統的な水を主体とする洗濯技術には、水及び洗剤又は石鹸製品の溶液における布地物品の浸漬それに続くすすぎ及び乾燥が関与する。しかしながら、水への浸漬に適さない布地の中身、構成等々のため特殊な取り扱い及び/又は洗浄方法を必要とする多種多様な布地物品では、かかる従来の浸漬洗浄技術は不満足であることが判明している。
布地洗浄サイクルの間に水性蒸気適用工程が提供される本発明によってこのニーズは満たされる。
(定義)
本明細書で使用する用語「布地」は、従来型洗濯法又はドライクリーニング法で習慣的にクリーニングされる、どの物品をも意味することを意図する。そのような用語として、衣服、亜麻布、ドレーパー及び衣服付属品を包含する。その用語は又、大型買物袋、家具カバー、防水布など、全体的に又は部分的に布で作られた品目をも包含する。
本明細書の親油性流体は、本動作条件下で存在する液相を有するものである。一般に、かかる流体は常温及び常圧で完全に液体であることができ、容易に融解する固体、例えば、約0℃〜約60℃の範囲の温度にて液体になるものであることができ、又は液体と常温及び常圧、例えば、25℃及び1気圧にて蒸気相の混合物を含むことができる。従って、本質的な親油性流体は、二酸化炭素のような圧縮性気体ではない。本発明の親油性流体は、可燃性であるか、又は既知の従来型ドライクリーニング流体の特性に等しい又は、好ましくはこれを超える比較的高い引火点及び/又は低いVOC特性を有するのが好ましく、ここでこれらの用語はドライクリーニング産業で使用される従来の意味を有する。
ドライクリーニング流体に対する既知の要求(例えば、引火点)を満たすことができ、かつ少なくとも部分的に下記の試験法に示すように皮脂を溶解することができるどの非水性流体でも、本発明の親油性流体として好適である。皮脂を除去する為の特定の物質の能力は、必要に応じて既知の技術で測定できる。一般的な指針として、D5は皮脂を溶解するが、ペルフルオロブチルアミン(フルオリナート(Fluorinert)FC−43(登録商標))はそれ自体では(添加物と共に又は添加物なしで)、定義によって本明細書の親油性流体(それは本質的に非溶媒である)としては好適ではない参照物質である。

本発明で使用するのに適した好適な親油性流体は、優れた衣類保護特徴を有することを基づいて、使用のために更に格付けすることができる。衣類処理特性試験は当該技術分野において周知であり、継ぎ目等及びボタンの範囲で使用される布地、糸及びゴムひもを包含する幅広い範囲の衣類又は布地物品構成成分を使用して特定化される試験を包含する。本発明で使用するための好ましい親油性流体は、優れた衣類保護特性を有し、例えば、良好な縮みまたは布皺付け特性を有して、プラスチックボタンに知覚可能な損傷を与えない。
水性蒸気及び親油性流体は、1以上の添加成分を含んでもよい。
a)カスプザック(Kasprzak)の米国特許第4685930号のようなノニルフェノールとミリスチルアルコールのポリエチレンオキシド縮合物;及び
b)脂肪族アルコールエトキシレート類、R−(OCH2CH2)aOH、a=1〜100で、通常は12〜40、R=炭化水素残基で8〜20個のC原子、通常は線状アルキルが含まれるがこれに限定されない。例は、4又は23個のオキシエチレン基とのポリオキシエチレンラウリルエーテル;2、10又は20個のオキシエチレン基とのポリオキシエチレンセチルエーテル;2、10、20、21又は100個のオキシエチレン基とのポリオキシエチレンステアリルエーテル;2又は10個のオキシエチレン基とのポリオキシエチレン(2)、(10)オレイルエーテル。市販の例には:アルフォニック(ALFONIC)、ゲナポール(GENAPOL)、ネオドール(NEODOL)、サーフォニック(SURFONIC)、トライコール(TRYCOL)が挙げられるがこれらに限定されるものではない。また米国6013683、ヒル(Hill)らを参照のこと。
ここで、各R’R”は、12〜30個の炭素原子、又はタロー、やし油、若しくは大豆に由来するものからなる群から独立に選択され、X=Cl又はBr。例として、ジドデシルジメチルアンモニウムブロミド(DDAB)、ジヘキサデシルジメチルアンモニウムクロリド、ジヘキサデシルジメチルアンモニウムブロミド、ジオクタデシルジメチルアンモニウムクロリド、ジエイコシルジメチルアンモニウムクロリド、ジドコシルジメチルアンモニウムクロリド、ジココナツジメチルアンモニウムクロリド、ジタロージメチルアンモニウムブロミド(DTAB)か挙げられる。市販の例には:アドゲン(ADOGEN)、アーカード(ARQUAD)、トマ(TOMAH)、ヴァリカート(VARIQUAT)が挙げられるが、これらに限定されない。また米国特許第6、013、683号、ヒル(Hill)らを参照のこと。
R1−(CH3)2SiO[(CH3)2SiO]a−[(CH3)(R1)SiO]b−Si(CH3)2−R1
を有し、上記において、a+bは約1〜約50、好ましくは約3〜約30、更に好ましくは約10〜約25であり、各R1は同一であるか又は異なり、メチル及び次の一般式を有するポリ(エチレンオキシド/プロピレンオキシド)コポリマー基から成る群から選択され、:
−(CH2)nO(C2H4O)c(C3H6O)dR2
少なくとも1個のR1はポリ(エチレンオキシド/プロピレンオキシド)コポリマー基であり、その際、nは3又は4、好ましくは3であり;(全てのポリアルキレン側基の)cの合計は1〜約100、好ましくは約6〜約100の値を有し;dの合計は0〜約14、好ましくは0〜約3であり;及び更に好ましくはdは0であり;c+dの合計の値は約5〜約150、好ましくは約9〜約100の値を有し、そして各R2は同一であるか又は異なり、水素、1〜4個の炭素原子を有するアルキル基、及びアセチル基、好ましくは水素及びメチル基から成る群から選択される。これらの界面活性剤の例は、ヒル(Hill)の米国特許第5705562号及びヒル(Hill)の米国特許第5707613号に見ることができ、これら2つを参考として本願に取り入れる。
本発明を製造する方法を詳細に記載するが、本発明の工程を実行することが可能であるいかなる方法及び/又は装置も用いることができることを理解すべきであり、当業者は認識するであろう。
布地の安全で有効な処理を提供する親油性流体の性能は、水性蒸気によって強化することができる。この蒸気は、多様なタイプの布地及び汚れの洗浄、処理、リフレッシュを改善する。方法ではいくつかの形態の水が利用されるが、従来のドライクリーニング法/溶媒によって回避されるべき布地への害は、水性蒸気のレベルが以下でさらに記載される特定の限界を超えないという条件で、さらに実質的に又は完全に回避される。理論に束縛されることを意図しないで、水性蒸気はまた、親油性流体のみではあまり有効ではない添加成分に対するキャリア及び/又は活性化剤としても機能する。この蒸気は処理方法において異なった時点及び/又は異なった順で添加されてもよく、又は布地を適用する前に親油性流体及び/又は添加物質と混合されてもよい。
Claims (7)
- 一つの装置の中で、改善された布地を洗浄する方法であって、
a)該布地を水性蒸気に曝す工程と、次に、
b)該布地を親油性流体に曝す工程と、そして
c)該親油性流体の少なくとも一部および該水性蒸気の少なくとも一部を抽出する工程と
を含み、該親油性流体が、線状および環状ポリシロキサン、グリコールエーテル、アセテートエステル、ならびにラクテートエステルからなる群から選択される、方法。
- 前記親油性流体が、760mmHgにおいて250℃を下回る融点を有する環状シロキサンである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記親油性流体が、オクタメチルシクロテトラシロキサン、デカメチルシクロペンタシロキサン、およびドデカメチルシクロヘキサシロキサンからなる群から選択される、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記親油性流体がデカメチルシクロペンタシロキサンである、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記工程「a」の間に、前記水性蒸気を振動させる、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記水性蒸気が10℃〜120℃の温度である、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記水性蒸気が1ミリメートル未満の大きさの液滴を含む、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
