Claims (5)
- ガラス製造プロセスにおいて酸化物ガラスを形成する方法であって、
白金、金、モリブデン、パラジウム、ロジウム、イリジウム、レニウム、タンタル、チタン、タングステン、およびそれらの合金からなる群より選択される金属から構成された容器内を通して、少なくとも0.35mm-1のβ-OHレベルを有するガラスの溶融物を流す工程であって、前記容器と前記ガラスとの間に界面が存在し、該容器が第1の部分および該第1の部分より下流にある第2の部分をさらに含むものである工程、
前記容器の第1の部分における前記ガラスと前記容器との界面に隣接する該ガラスの領域中で水素透過膨れの生成が促進されるような量に、該容器の第1の部分の外壁表面と接触する第1の雰囲気中の水素の分圧を制御する工程、および
前記容器の第2の部分における前記ガラスと前記容器との界面に隣接する該ガラスの領域中で水素透過膨れの生成が実質的に防がれるような量に、該容器の第2の部分の外壁表面と接触する第2の雰囲気中の水素の分圧を制御する工程、
を有してなる方法。 - 前記第1の雰囲気中の水素の分圧が、該第1の雰囲気中の水の量を変更することによって制御され、該第1の雰囲気の露点が−50℃および+30℃の間にあることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の雰囲気中の水素の分圧が、該第2の雰囲気中の水の量を変更することによって制御され、該第2の雰囲気の露点が+30℃および+95℃の間にあることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第2の雰囲気が1000ppm未満の酸素を含むことを特徴とする請求項6記載の方法。
- 前記ガラス中に含まれるAsまたはSbの量が0.05質量%未満であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
