Description
(1)常時ヘッド温調を行う(外部/近傍)。温度フィードバック有り。
(2)随時ヘッド温調を行う(外部/近傍)。温度フィードバック有り。
(3)高温のヘッド温調を行う(環境温度より高い)。フィードバック有り。
(4)単一のヒートパルス(シングルパルス)のパルス幅変調。
(5)分割ヒートパルス(ダブルパルス)のパルス幅変調。
(実施形態1)
図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係るインクジェットプリンタの装置構成を示す図であり、ケースカバーを除いた状態で示す斜視図である。
本発明の第2の実施形態は、実施形態1で説明した高粘度インクをブラックインクとして使用し、通常インク(低粘度インク)をカラーインク(シアン、マゼンタ、イエロー)に使用した場合に関するものである。
本発明の第3の実施形態は、インクジェットプリンタが複数の記録モードを備え、記録モードを選択して記録を行うものである。なお、実施形態1と同じ内容については、説明を省く。
また、記録ヘッドに温度センサーを備え、温度センサから取得するヘッドの温度情報に基づき、テーブルの選択を行っても構わない。

Claims (4)
- 電気熱変換素子に電気パルスを印加してインク中に気泡を発生させることによりインクを吐出する記録ヘッドを用いて記録を行うインクジェット記録装置であって、
インクの吐出に至らないプレヒートパルスと、該プレヒートパルスの後に続くインクを吐出させるためのメインヒートパルスとを含む電気パルスを生成する生成手段と、を具え、
前記生成手段は、インク温度が所定温度より高い温度領域において、インク温度の低下に応じて前記プレヒートパルスのパルス幅を長くなるように変化させるとともに、インク温度が前記所定温度以下のときに前記プレヒートパルスのパルス幅を、インク温度が前記温度領域における前記プレヒートパルスの最大パルス幅より短くすることを特徴とするインクジェット記録装置。 - インク温度が前記温度領域に含まれた第1温度のときに前記生成手段によって生成される前記プレヒートパルスのパルス幅は、インク温度が前記第1温度より高い第2温度のときに前記生成手段によって生成される前記プレヒートパルスのパルス幅より長いことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のインクジェット記録装置。
- 前記生成手段は、インク温度が前記所定温度以下のときに前記生成手段によって生成される前記プレヒートパルスのパルス幅を、インク温度の低下に応じて前記プレヒートパルスのパルス幅を短くなるように変化させることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のインクジェット記録装置。
- インクとして、粘度の高い高粘度インクと該高粘度インクより粘度が低い通常インクを用い、前記生成手段によって生成される前記プレヒートパルスのパルス幅をインク温度が前記所定温度以下の同じ温度で比較すると、前記高粘度インクに対応したプレヒートパルスのパルス幅は、前記通常インクに対応したプレヒートパルスのパルス幅より短いことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載のインクジェット記録装置。
