Description
幾つかの多結晶ダイヤモンド成形体を、以下のように製造した。平均粒径が22μmのダイヤモンド粉末3gを、炭化タングステン基材に接触させて置き、高温高圧で処理した(約1300℃及び5GPa)。焼結後、PDC切削機を、適当な粒度に粉砕し、多結晶ダイヤモンド切削縁部を高速で回転する花崗岩の棒に押し付けることによって摩耗試験にかけた。こうして測定した耐摩耗性を、金属ホウ化物でドープした実施例2〜4のPDC切削機と比較するための基準とした。
実施例1に従って多結晶ダイヤモンド成形体を製造し、ダイヤモンド粉末に対して0.5重量%の量の粒子状二ホウ化アルミニウムを、焼結前に高温高圧で添加した。これらの切削機の耐摩耗性を実施例1で得られたものと比較し、平均で4%の増加が示され、PDC切削機における二ホウ化アルミニウムの存在に起因して、耐摩耗性が改善されたことが示された。
実施例1に従って多結晶ダイヤモンド成形体を製造し、ダイヤモンド粉末に対して0.7重量%の粒子状六ホウ化セリウムを、焼結前に高温高圧で添加した。耐摩耗性は6%の改善を示した。図2に示すように、セリウムの存在をXRF分析によって検出した。
粒子状六ホウ化ランタン0.7重量%を含む多結晶ダイヤモンド成形体を、上記の方法に従って製造し、耐摩耗性は6%の改善を示した。図3に示すように、ランタンの存在をXRF分析によって検出した。
Claims (22)
- 溶媒/触媒相と、ホウ素と、ダイヤモンド材料に対して0.01〜4重量%の少なくとも1種の金属又は金属化合物を含むダイヤモンド材料とを含む多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨要素であって、前記金属が、強度の酸素ゲッターであって、マグネシウム、カルシウム、アルミニウム、ストロンチウム、イットリウム、ジルコニウム、ハフニウム、クロム、及び希土類金属を含む群から選択される、前記多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨要素。
- 前記金属が、希土類金属から選択される、請求項1に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記金属が、セリウム及び/又はランタンである、請求項1又は2に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記金属が、ダイヤモンド材料に対して2重量%未満の量で存在する、請求項1から3までのいずれか一項に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記金属が、ダイヤモンド材料に対して0.7重量%未満の量で存在する、請求項4に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記金属が、ダイヤモンド材料に対して0.1重量%を超える量で存在する、請求項1から5までのいずれか一項に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記金属が、ダイヤモンド材料に対して0.2重量%を超える量で存在する、請求項6に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記溶媒/触媒相が、コバルト、ニッケル、鉄、又はそれらの合金である、請求項1から7までのいずれか一項に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記少なくとも1種の金属化合物が、前記金属の酸化物である、請求項1から8までのいずれか一項に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記少なくとも1種の金属又は金属化合物が、前記多結晶ダイヤモンド材料全体に分配される、請求項1から9までのいずれか一項に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記少なくとも1種の金属又は金属化合物が、研磨要素とは別の1つ又は複数の領域内に位置する、請求項1から9までのいずれか一項に記載の研磨要素。
- 前記少なくとも1種の金属又は金属化合物が、研磨要素の作用表面に隣接する層の中に位置する、請求項11に記載の研磨要素。
- 未接着組立体を形成するために多量のダイヤモンド粒子及び少なくとも1種の金属ホウ化物の供給源を用意するステップと、前記未接着組立体を多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨要素の製造に適した高温高圧条件に曝すステップとを含む多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨要素の製造方法であって、前記少なくとも1種の金属ホウ化物の金属成分は、強度の酸素ゲッター(捕捉剤)であり、前記多量のダイヤモンド粒子及び前記少なくとも1種の金属ホウ化物の供給源は、触媒材料の供給源と共に用意されて、前記未接着組立体を形成するものである、前記多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨要素の製造方法。
- 前記金属成分の酸化物が、2000℃を超える融点を有する、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記金属成分が、マグネシウム、カルシウム、アルミニウム、ストロンチウム、イットリウム、ジルコニウム、ハフニウム、クロム、及び希土類金属からなる群から選択される、請求項13又は請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種の金属ホウ化物が、希土類金属のホウ化物から選択される、請求項13から15までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種の金属ホウ化物の金属が、セリウム及び/又はランタンである、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記未接着組立体が基材をさらに含み、それによって、前記未接着組立体の焼結の際に多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨成形体が製造される、請求項13から17までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記基材が超硬合金基材である、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記基材が、触媒材料の供給源である、請求項19に記載の方法。
- さらなる触媒材料が、ダイヤモンド触媒/溶媒を含む第2の相の形態で前記ダイヤモンド粒子に混ぜ込まれる、請求項13から20までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1から12までのいずれか一項に記載の多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨要素を含む、又は請求項13から21までのいずれか一項に記載の方法によって製造される多結晶ダイヤモンド研磨成形体。
