Description
一般に、顔料は単独では、液体ビヒクル中に容易には分散可能でない。安定な顔料分散液を提供し得る様々な技法が開発されてきた。たとえば、特定の媒質中における顔料の分散性を改善するために、分散剤が顔料に添加され得る。水性媒質用の分散剤の例は、水溶性ポリマー及び界面活性剤を包含する。加えて、米国特許第6,451,103号明細書に記載されているもののような、酸性官能基又は塩で置換された水溶性顔料誘導体もまた、顔料の水性分散液を製造するために用いられてきた。
本発明は、変性有機着色剤分散液を製造する方法であって、i)有機着色剤、ii)水酸化物試薬及びiii)水性媒質を任意の順序で一緒にして変性有機着色剤分散液を形成させ、そしてこの分散液中の変性有機着色剤の粒子サイズを350nmより小さいか又は等しい粒子サイズに低減する工程を含む方法に関する。有機着色剤は、少なくとも1個のエステル基を有する少なくとも1種の有機化学種を含む。これらの工程は、任意の順序で行われ得る。それ故、別の具体的態様において、本発明は、変性有機着色剤分散液を製造する方法であって、上記に記載されたとおりの有機着色剤の粒子サイズを500nmより小さいか又は等しい粒子サイズに低減し、そしてかかるサイズ低減有機着色剤を任意の順序でi)水酸化物試薬及びii)水性媒質と一緒にして変性有機着色剤分散液を形成させる工程を含む方法に関する。

- 変性有機着色剤分散液を製造する方法であって、次の工程すなわち
a)i)少なくとも1個のエステル基を有する少なくとも1種の有機化学種を含む有機着色剤、ii)水酸化物試薬及びiii)水性媒質を一緒にして、前記水酸化物試薬と前記有機着色剤とを反応させて、変性有機着色剤分散液を形成させ(ここで、前記変性有機着色剤分散液はアクリレート樹脂は含まない。)、そして
b)この分散液中の変性有機着色剤の粒子サイズを350nmより小さいか又は等しい粒子サイズに低減する
工程を含む方法。 - 変性有機着色剤分散液を製造する方法であって、次の工程すなわち
a)少なくとも1個のエステル基を有する少なくとも1種の有機化学種を含む有機着色剤の粒子サイズを500nmより小さいか又は等しい粒子サイズに低減し、そして
b)i)このサイズ低減有機着色剤、ii)水酸化物試薬及びiii)水性媒質を一緒にして、前記水酸化物試薬と前記サイズ低減有機着色剤とを反応とさせて、変性有機着色剤分散液を形成させる(ここで、前記変性有機着色剤分散液はアクリレート樹脂は含まない。)
工程を含む方法。 - 有機着色剤を工程a)の前に高剪断混合条件に付す、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 高剪断混合条件が、横型メディアミル、縦型メディアミル、アトリッター、ボールミル、ハンマーミル、ピンディスクミル、流体エネルギーミル、ジェットミル、流体ジェットミル、衝突ジェットミル、回転子−固定子、ペレタイザー、ホモジナイザー、音波処理装置又はキャビテーターにおいて生じる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 有機着色剤、水酸化物試薬及び水性媒質を高剪断条件下で一緒にする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 高剪断混合条件が、横型メディアミル、縦型メディアミル、アトリッター、ボールミル、ハンマーミル、ピンディスクミル、流体エネルギーミル、ジェットミル、流体ジェットミル、衝突ジェットミル、回転子−固定子、ペレタイザー、ホモジナイザー、音波処理装置又はキャビテーターにおいて生じる、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 工程a)及びb)を同時に行う、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 変性有機着色剤の粒子サイズを音波処理により低減する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 有機着色剤が有色顔料である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 有色顔料が、青色顔料、黒色顔料、茶色顔料、シアン色顔料、緑色顔料、白色顔料、紫色顔料、マゼンタ色顔料、赤色顔料、橙色顔料、黄色顔料又はそれらの混合物を含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 有色顔料が、アントラキノン、フタロシアニンブルー、フタロシアニングリーン、ジアゾ、モノアゾ、ピラントロン、ペリレン、複素環式イエロー、キナクリドン及び(チオ)インジゴイドから成る群から選択される、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 水酸化物試薬が、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化リチウム、水酸化アンモニウム又はそれらの混合物である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 水性媒質が水である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 分散液中の変性有機着色剤の粒子サイズが、300nmより小さいか又は等しい、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 分散液中の変性有機着色剤の粒子サイズが、200nmより小さいか又は等しい、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載の変性有機着色剤分散液を製造する方法によって製造された変性有機着色剤分散液を乾燥して乾燥形態の変性有機着色剤を形成させる工程を更に含む、乾燥形態の変性有機着色剤の製造方法。
