Claims (22)
- 複数のサブ画素からそれぞれ構成される複数の画素を含む光電子ディスプレイであって、前記光電子ディスプレイは、2次元アレイにおいて複数の離散発色領域を提供するようにパターニングされた発色層を含み、前記離散発色領域をアドレス指定するためにアドレス指定アレイが設けられ、前記離散発色領域の少なくともいくつかは前記アドレス指定アレイによって独立してアドレス指定可能な複数の部分を有し、前記部分の各々が前記光電子ディスプレイのサブ画素を規定し、
前記複数の離散発色領域の各々は、発色材料の連続した1つの領域であり、
前記発色層は発光層であり、
前記光電子ディスプレイは、基板、前記基板上に配置される第1電極層、前記第1電極層上に配置される前記発光層、及び前記発光層上に配置される第2電極層を含み、前記発光層は2次元アレイ中に前記複数の離散発色領域としての複数の離散発光領域を提供するようにパターニングされ、前記第1電極層及び/又は前記第2電極層は複数の電極を含み、各電極は前記各離散発光領域に連結される少なくとも2つの補助電極を含み、
前記補助電極間には前記補助電極間の横方向の導電を防ぐために間隔が設けられており、
前記間隔には、前記電極の上部表面を平坦化するために絶縁材料が充填されている光電子ディスプレイ。 - 前記各独立してアドレス指定可能な部分は前記光電子ディスプレイの異なる画素のサブ画素を規定する、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記離散発色領域は、2、3、4又は6個の、独立してアドレス指定可能な部分を含む、請求項1又は2に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記画素の形状は、正方形、長方形、三角形又は六角形である、請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記離散発色領域の形状は、正方形、長方形、円、楕円及び六角形の1又は2以上である、請求項1ないし4のいずれかに記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記光電子ディスプレイはマルチカラーディスプレイである、請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記光電子ディスプレイは、異なる電圧で各補助電極を駆動することができる駆動回路をさらに含む、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記ディスプレイはアクティブマトリックスディスプレイであり、各サブ画素は、各補助電極に異なる駆動電圧を供給するために、連結されたアクティブスイッチング素子を有する、請求項7に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記絶縁材料は無機誘電材料又は有機フォトレジスト材料である、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記補助電極は、パターニングされた導電性材料層とパターニングされてない導電性材料層から構成され、補助電極間の横方向の導電を防止するために、前記パターニングされてない層は前記パターニングされた層より低い導電性を有する、請求項1ないし9のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記パターニングされた層は前記補助電極を規定するパターニングされた導電性接触層を含み、前記パターニングされてない層は電荷注入材料の均一層を含む、請求項10に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記発光層は、前記第1の電極層上に配置され、複数のウェルを規定するバンク構造を設けることによってパターニングされ、各ウェルは前記離散発光領域の1つを含み、これによって少なくとも2つの補助電極が各ウェルに連結されている、請求項1ないし11のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の電極層は前記補助電極を含む、請求項1ないし12のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記補助電極はアノードである、請求項1ないし13のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記発光層は有機発光材料を含む、請求項1ないし14のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記発光層はポリマー発光材料を含む、請求項15に記載のディスプレイ。
- 導電性ポリマー層が前記電極層の1つと前記発光層の間に配置される、請求項1ないし16のいずれか一項に記載のディスプレイ。
- 請求項1ないし17のいずれかに記載の光電子ディスプレイの製造方法であって、前記発色層が溶液から堆積される製造方法。
- 前記発色層はインクジェット印刷又はスピンコートによって堆積される、請求項18に記載の製造方法。
- 基板を供給する工程、前記基板上に第1の電極層を堆積する工程、前記第1の電極層上に前記発色層として発光層を堆積する工程、及び前記発光層上に第2の電極層を堆積する工程を含む請求項18又は19に記載の方法であって、前記発光層は離散発光領域の2次元アレイを提供するようにパターニングされ、前記第1電極層及び/又は前記第2電極層は複数の電極を含み、各電極は各離散発光領域に連結される少なくとも2つの補助電極を含む製造方法。
- 前記発光層を堆積する前に、前記第1電極上に配置され、複数のウェルを規定するバンク構造を堆積することによって、前記発光層がパターニングされ、それに続き、前記発光層は各ウェルが前記離散発光領域の1つを含むように堆積され、これによって少なくとも2つの補助電極が各ウェルに連結される、請求項20に記載の製造方法。
- 前記補助電極は、レーザーアブレーション、e−ビームアブレーション、ドライエッチング、湿式エッチング、又は直接書き込みによってパターニングされる、請求項20又は21に記載の製造方法。
