また、底灰はその排出場所によって粒子の形状や化学成分などが多岐に亘っており、比重は2.1〜2.7程度であり、底灰の乾燥重量は720〜1600kg/m3であり、可塑性がなく、水分吸収率は約2.0〜30.0%と極めて広範であることが知られている。ほとんどの底灰は灰色を帯びており、黄色、黒色、灰白色に至るまで、生成環境に応じて様々な色相を帯びている。未燃炭素粒子は黒色を帯び、シリカとアルミナ成分が多い場合には灰白色と黄色を帯びている。
また、簡単に処理できない底灰を大量で処理することにより灰処理場の設置にかかる費用を節減すると共に、底灰をリサイクルでき、経済性に富んでいると共に、環境問題を解決することができる。
30%の水分を含有する底灰を軽量骨材の製造に利用するためには、押出成形工程の最適な成形含水率である20±1%の範囲で混合原料が供給されなければならない。量産工程において添加可能な量を決定するために、混合原料の含水率に対する実験を行った。 実験の結果、押出成形を通じて底灰が混合された軽量骨材を製造するためには、最大15%以上を添加することは困難であるという結果が得られた。この結果から、底灰の大量処理するためには含水率を調節可能な技術の導入が必要であった。
実験例7:含水率が約20%の粘土と含水率が約31%の底灰の重量を測り、底灰10重量部及び粘土90重量部を混合した後に粉砕及び混練工程を経た原料を手作業で環状に成形した。製造された軽量骨材の比重及び吸水率はそれぞれ1.650及び9.76%であった。
実験例13:含水率が約20%の粘土と含水率が約31%の底灰の重量を測り、底灰15重量部、粘土85重量部を混合して粉砕及び混練工程を経た原料を5〜11mm径の円孔が多数穿孔されているモールド付き押出成形機により1次成形した。このとき、回転切断機を用いて一定の長さに成形体を切断し、回転中の回転槽に搬送して環状に2次成形した。焼成工程は約1100℃のロータリーキルンにおいて行われた。製造された軽量骨材の比重及び吸水率はそれぞれ1.268及び13.92%であった。
Claims (7)
- 次のステップからなる底灰を含む人工軽量骨材の製造方法:
(a)粘土100重量部に対して水分10〜31%を含む底灰10〜100重量部を加え混合して混合物を得るステップ;
(b)前記混合物を押出成形機を用いて押出成形し、切断し、所定形状の成形体とするステップ;
(c)前記成形体をロータリー乾燥機を用いて乾燥して乾燥体とするステップ;及び
(d)前記乾燥体を1050〜1150℃において15〜45分間焼成して人工軽量骨材を製造するステップ。 - 前記(a)ステップにおける底灰は、粒度分離または粉砕過程を経て得られることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記得られた底灰は、その粒径が1mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記(a)ステップは粘土100重量部に対して更にダスト10〜30重量部を含ませて混合することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のうち、いずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ダストは大理石ダスト及び石炭灰乾燥粉を含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法により製造され、粘土100重量部及び底灰10〜100重量部を含有する均一な吸水率を有する人工軽量骨材。
- 請求項4に記載の方法により製造され、粘土100重量部、底灰10〜100重量部及びダスト10〜30重量部を含有する均一な吸水率を有する人工軽量骨材。
