本発明は、また、少なくとも500m2/kgの表面積を有する担体を選択するステップと、その担体上に、
銀金属、
レニウム、タングステン、モリブデンまたは硝酸塩もしくは亜硝酸塩形成化合物を含む金属または成分、ならびに
少なくとも37の原子番号を有するIA族金属および更にカリウムを含むIA族金属または成分を堆積するステップとを含み、式(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、1.5〜30ミリモル/kgの範囲にある触媒組成物を調製する方法を提供するものである。(式中、QHIAおよびQKは、それぞれ触媒組成物に存在する、少なくとも37の原子番号を有するIA族金属およびカリウムの量をミリモル/kgで表し、QHIAとQKの比は、少なくとも1:1であり、QKの値は、少なくとも0.01ミリモル/kgであり、Rは、1.5〜5の範囲の無次元数であり、ミリモル/kg単位は、触媒組成物の重量を基準とする。)
本発明は、また、本発明の触媒組成物の存在下で、エチレンと酸素とを反応させて酸化エチレンを調製する方法を提供するものである。
(QK/R)+QHIA=F×SA
(式中、SAは、担体の表面積をm2/kgで表し、Fは、0.001〜0.01ミリモル/m2の範囲の値を有する係数である)。代表的には、Fの値は、0.002〜0.008ミリモル/m2の範囲にある。より代表的には、Fの値は、0.003〜0.006ミリモル/m2の範囲にある。これらの範囲内で、触媒は、一定の表面積または一定の(QK/R)+QHIAの値に対して最適なまたは最適に近い初期活性を示す。
担体の調製
α−アルミナ担体は、米国特許第5100859A号の実施例1において記載された方法により調製された。担体の表面積は790m2/kgであり、吸水率は0.39g/gであった。
銀−アミン−シュウ酸塩貯蔵溶液は、以下の手順で調製された。
そのように調製された触媒を、エチレンおよび酸素からの酸化エチレンの製造においてテストした。これを行うために、3.5〜4.5gの粉砕触媒を、ステンレススチール製U字管に入れた。管を溶融金属浴(加熱媒体)に浸漬し、その末端をガス流系に接続した。ガスおよびガス混合物を、「ワンススルー」操作において触媒床を通過させた。使用された触媒の重量および入口ガス流速度は、3300Nl/(l.h)のガス空間速度を与えるために調整された。入口ガス圧は1550kPa(絶対)であった。
α−アルミナ担体は、以下の成分を混合して調製された。
2.3μmのd50を持つα−アルミナ29pbw、
3.酸化アルミニウム(ベーマイト形態)3pbw、
4.シリカ(アンモニア安定化シリカゾルの形態)0.5pbw、および
5.酸化ナトリウム(酢酸ナトリウムの形態)0.1pbw。
Claims (18)
- エチレンのエポキシ化のための触媒組成物を調製する方法であって、
少なくとも500m2/kgの表面積を有する担体を選択するステップと、
前記担体上に、
銀金属と、
レニウム成分、モリブデン成分、タングステン成分、および硝酸塩もしくは亜硝酸塩形成化合物からなる群から選択される、1種または複数種の成分と、
セシウム成分と、
リチウム成分と、
カリウム成分と
を含み、
式(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、1.5〜30ミリモル/kgの範囲になるように堆積するステップ(式中、QHIAおよびQKは、それぞれ前記触媒組成物に存在する、セシウムの量およびカリウムの量をミリモル/kgで表し、QHIAとQKの比は、少なくとも1:1かつ多くとも2.5:1であり、QKの値は、少なくとも0.01ミリモル/kgであり、Rは、1.5〜5の範囲の無次元数であり、前記ミリモル/kg単位は、前記触媒組成物の重量を基準とする)、
とを含む、方法。 - Rの値が、2.5である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- QKが、触媒組成物の重量に対して0.1〜30ミリモル/kgの範囲にある、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 担体の表面積が、500〜5000m2/kgの範囲にあり、
(QK/R)+QHIA=F×SA
である(式中、SAは、担体の表面積をm2/kgで表し、Fは、0.001〜0.01ミリモル/m2の範囲の値を有する係数である)、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の方法。 - Fの値が、0.002〜0.008ミリモル/m2の範囲にある、請求項4に記載の方法。
- Fの値が、0.003〜0.006ミリモル/m2の範囲にある、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 担体の表面積が、500〜1500m2/kgの範囲にあり、(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、1.5〜12ミリモル/kgの範囲にあるか、または、
担体の表面積が、1500〜2500m2/kgの範囲にあり、(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、4〜15ミリモル/kgの範囲にあるか、または、
担体の表面積が、2500〜5000m2/kgの範囲にあり、(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、5〜25ミリモル/kgの範囲にある、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の方法。 - 担体の表面積が、500〜1500m2/kgの範囲にあり、(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、2〜6ミリモル/kgの範囲にあるか、または、
担体の表面積が、1500〜2500m2/kgの範囲にあり、(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、6〜10ミリモル/kgの範囲にあるか、または、
担体の表面積が、2500〜5000m2/kgの範囲にあり、かつ(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、10〜20ミリモル/kgの範囲にある、請求項7に記載の方法。 - 更にIA族金属であるリチウムを、全触媒組成物に対して1〜500ミリモル/kgの量で担体上に堆積させる、請求項1から8のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 銀に加えて、レニウムと、更に硫黄、リン、ホウ素ならびに硫黄から選ばれるレニウム補助触媒とを担体上に堆積させる、請求項1から9のいずれかに記載の方法。
- エチレンのエポキシ化のための触媒組成物であって、
少なくとも500m2/kgの表面積を有する担体と、
前記担体上に堆積した
銀金属と、
レニウム成分、モリブデン成分、タングステン成分、および硝酸塩または亜硝酸塩形成化合物からなる群から選択される、1種または複数種の成分と、
セシウム成分と、
リチウム成分と、
カリウム成分と
を含み、
式(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、1.5〜30ミリモル/kgの範囲にある(式中、QHIAおよびQKは、それぞれ前記触媒組成物に存在する、セシウムの量およびカリウムの量をミリモル/kgで表し、QHIAとQKの比は、少なくとも1:1、多くとも2.5:1であり、QKの値は、少なくとも0.01ミリモル/kgであり、Rは、1.5〜5の範囲の無次元数であり、前記ミリモル/kg単位は、前記触媒組成物の重量を基準とする)、触媒組成物。 - 担体の表面積が、1500〜2500m2/kgの範囲にあり、かつ、式(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、4〜15ミリモル/kgの範囲にある、請求項11に記載の触媒組成物。
- 担体の表面積が、2500〜5000m2/kgの範囲にあり、かつ、式(QK/R)+QHIAの値が、5〜25ミリモル/kgの範囲にある、請求項11に記載の触媒組成物。
- (QK/R)+QHIA=F×SAである(式中、SAは、担体の表面積をm2/kgで表し、Fは、0.001〜0.01ミリモル/m2の範囲の値を有する係数である)、請求項11から13のいずれかに記載の触媒組成物。
- 請求項11から14のいずれかに記載の触媒組成物、または請求項1から10のいずれかに記載の方法で得られた触媒の存在下で、エチレンと酸素とを反応させて酸化エチレンを調製する方法。
- 有機ハロゲン化物または有機もしくは無機窒素化合物が反応調節剤として存在する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- エチレンおよび酸素を含む供給原料が触媒組成物と接触し、前記供給原料が、エチレンおよび酸素に加えて、二酸化炭素を、前記全供給原料当り、0.5〜2モル%の範囲の濃度で含む、請求項15または16に記載の方法。
- 請求項15から17のいずれかに記載の、酸化エチレンを調製する方法によって酸化エチレンを得るステップと、
酸化エチレンを、1,2−エタンジオールまたは1,2−エタンジオールエーテルへ転換するステップと
を含む、1,2−エタンジオールまたは1,2−エタンジオールエーテルを作製する方法。
