Claims (10)
- (a)近位端および遠位端を有する超音波エミッターアセンブリであって、
(i)近位端および遠位端を有する管状圧電素子と、
(ii)前記管状圧電素子内に延びる内側チューブであって、これによって前記内側チューブおよび前記圧電素子が前記圧電素子の前記近位端と前記遠位端との間に延びる環状通路を協働して画成し、前記チューブがチューブ孔または中心軸を画成する内側チューブと、
を備える超音波エミッターアセンブリと、
(b)前記エミッターを囲むバルーンであって、内腔を有し、前記環状通路は前記エミッターアセンブリの遠位端に隣接する前記バルーンの内部と連絡しているバルーンと、
(c)近位端および遠位端を有するカテーテルであって、主要管腔および第1のさらなる管腔および第2のさらなる管腔を有するカテーテルと、
(d)前記主要管腔は、前記チューブの孔と連絡しており、あるいは前記内側チューブの前記中心軸と整列され、前記第1のさらなる管腔は前記環状通路の前記近位端と連絡しており、前記第2のさらなる管腔は前記エミッターアセンブリの近位端に隣接する前記バルーンの内部と連絡している管腔と、
を備えている装置であって、
使用中は、液体が前記第1および第2のさらなる管腔を通じて循環し、前記圧電素子から熱を取り除き、
液体循環は、別のカテーテルの必要がなく、前記主要管腔を使用することなく、達成されることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記エミッターアセンブリは、前記カテーテルの遠位端と前記管状圧電素子の近位端との間に少なくとも部分的に配置された近位装着構造を備え、前記近位装着構造は少なくとも部分的には、前記バルーンの内側と連絡しているポートを画成し、中央の孔は前記チューブの孔と前記カテーテルの前記主要管腔とを接続し、第1の側方チャネルは前記カテーテルの前記第1のさらなる管腔と前記環状通路とを接続し、第2の側方チャネルが前記カテーテルの前記第2のさらなる管腔とポートとを接続し、前記第2のさらなる管腔が、前記ポートを通じて前記バルーンの内部と連絡している、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記エミッターアセンブリは、前記管状圧電素子の遠位端に装着された遠位装着構造をさらに備えている、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記遠位装着構造は少なくとも部分的に開口を画成し、前記環状通路が前記開口を通じて前記バルーンの内部と連絡している、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記近位装着構造および前記遠位装着構造は少なくとも部分的に導電性であり、前記カテーテル内に延在している導電体を備え、前記導電体の一方は前記近位装着構造に電気的に接続されており、前記導電体のもう一方は前記遠位装着構造に電気的に接続されており、前記管状圧電素子は内面と外面とを有し、前記近位装着構造および前記遠位装着構造の末端構造の一方は前記内面に接続されており、前記末端構造のもう一方は前記外面に接続されている、請求項3に記載の装置。
- 前記チューブの少なくとも一部は導電性であり、前記チューブと前記近位装着構造との間に配置される電気絶縁体をさらに備え、前記導電体の一方は、前記チューブによって前記遠位装着構造に対して電気的に接続されている、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記バルーンが前記エミッターアセンブリに対して遠位の遠位端と、その遠位端に隣接するバルーンの外部と開口して連絡しているアウトレットポートと、前記アウトレットポートを前記内側チューブの孔に接続する通路を画成する伸展性エレメントとを有し、前記伸展性エレメント、前記内側チューブおよび前記主要管腔が協働して連続した通路を構成している、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記伸展性エレメントは遠位端と近位端とを有する膨張性のチューブを備え、前記近位端は、前記エミッターアセンブリに装着され、前記遠位端はその遠位端に隣接する前記バルーンに装着されている、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記伸展性エレメントは遠位補強チューブと近位補強チューブとを備え、前記遠位補強チューブはその遠位端に隣接する前記バルーンに接続され、前記近位補強チューブは前記エミッターアセンブリに接続され、前記補強チューブはお互いに入れ子式に係合されている、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記エミッターアセンブリは遠位端エレメントを備え、前記遠位補強チューブは前記バルーンが膨張された状態の場合、前記遠位端エレメントを係合し、前記遠位補強チューブは、前記バルーンが収縮された状態である場合、前記遠位端エレメントから解放されているが、前記近位補強チューブと入れ子式に係合されたままである、請求項9に記載の装置。
