図1は本実施例に係る液体収容体としてのインクカートリッジの外観斜視図である。図2は図1に示す本実施例に係るインクカートリッジを裏面から見た外観斜視図である。図3は図1に対応する本実施例に係るインクカートリッジの分解斜視図である。図4は図2に対応する本実施例に係るインクカートリッジの分解斜視図である。図5は本実施例に係るインクカートリッジをキャリッジに取り付けた状態を示す図である。なお、図1〜図5には、インクカートリッジの姿勢(方向)を特定するためにXYZ軸が図示されている。
(1)上記実施例では、4つの円筒流路部404a〜404dを備える例を用いて説明したが、2つの円筒流路部と1つの接続流路部とを備えても良い。この場合であっても、鉛直連通路400から気泡分離室410への気泡の移動の抑制または防止、気泡分離室410からエンド室390へのインクの流出の抑制または防止といった利点を始め、上述した鉛直連通路400によって得られる種々の利点を享受することができる。あるいは、5つ以上の円筒流路部を備えても良い。この場合には、円筒流路部が増大するに従って、気泡分離室410に対する気泡の移動の抑制または防止の確度を向上させることができる。

Claims (7)
- 液体噴射装置に装着可能な液体収容体であって、
液体を収容するための液体収容部と、
前記液体収容体の底部に配置され、前記液体収容部内の液体を前記液体噴射装置に対して供給するための液体供給部と、
前記液体収容部を大気と連通するための大気連通部と、
前記液体に含まれる気泡を分離するための気泡分離部と、
前記液体収容部と連通する導入部と、前記導入部よりも前記底部から鉛直方向に高い位置において前記気泡分離部と連通する導出部と、を備える鉛直連通路と、
前記液体供給部および前記気泡分離部と接続され、前記液体収容体の液体量を検出するための検出部と、
を備える液体収容体。 - 請求項1記載の液体収容体において、
前記鉛直連通路は、前記導入部から導出部に向かって折り返し階段状に形成されている液体収容体。 - 請求項2記載の液体収容体において、
前記鉛直連通路は、前記鉛直方向と交差すると共に前記鉛直方向に千鳥状に配置されている複数の円筒流路と、前記複数の円筒流路を互いに接続して1つの流路を形成するための接続流路とを備える液体収容体。 - 請求項3記載の液体収容体において、
前記複数の円筒流路はそれぞれ、一方の端部に他の部分よりも流路断面積が小さい絞り部を備える液体収容体。 - 請求項1から請求項4のいずれかに記載の液体収容体において、
前記鉛直方向は、前記液体噴射装置に対して前記液体収容体が装着された状態で前記底部を下側とする方向に相当する液体収容体。 - 請求項1記載の液体収容体において、
前記鉛直連通路は、前記底部が下側とならない姿勢において、内包する液体に含まれる気泡の前記気泡分離部への移動を抑制する構造を有する液体収容体。 - 請求項6記載の液体収容体において、
前記気泡分離部への移動を抑制する構造は、前記底部が下側とならない姿勢において、重力方向に下がる流路部を有する構造である液体収容体。
