Claims (3)
- 電解質膜と、燃料極と、酸化剤極と、前記燃料極に燃料ガスを供給する燃料極セパレータと、前記酸化剤極に酸化剤ガスを供給する酸化剤極セパレータから構成される燃料電池用の単電池において、
前記燃料極は、前記電解質膜に接して設けられた燃料極触媒層と、前記燃料極触媒層と前記燃料極セパレータとによってはさまれた燃料極ガス拡散層とを備え、
前記酸化剤極は、前記電解質膜に接して設けられた酸化剤極触媒層と、前記酸化剤極触媒層と前記酸化剤極セパレータとによってはさまれた酸化剤極ガス拡散層とを備え、
前記燃料極触媒層の少なくとも一辺が、前記燃料極セパレータの端部位置まで延長し、前記酸化剤極触媒層の少なくとも一辺が、前記酸化剤極セパレータの端部位置まで延長し、且つ、燃料電池の通常発電部を除く前記燃料極触媒層の延長部と前記酸化剤極触媒層の延長部が電解質膜を介して重ならない構成としたことを特徴とする燃料電池用の単電池。 - 前記燃料極セパレータに燃料ガスを導く燃料ガス入口マニホールドと、前記燃料極セパレータから燃料ガスを排出する燃料ガス出口マニホールドと、をさらに備え、前記燃料極触媒層及び酸化剤極触媒層が、電池断面にて前記燃料ガス入口マニホールドまたは前記燃料ガス出口マニホールドの少なくともどちらか一方に面する前記燃料極セパレータ及び前記酸化剤極セパレータの端部位置まで延長して設けた構成であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の燃料電池用の単電池。
- 前記燃料電池の通常発電部を除く前記燃料極触媒層の延長部と前記酸化剤極触媒層の延長部が、前記酸化剤極に酸化剤ガスを供給する端部付近および前記酸化剤極から酸化剤ガスを排出する端部付近で、電解質膜を介して重ならない構成としたことを特徴とする請求項1記載の燃料電池用の単電池。
