CH1.52O0.64(s) + 0.3 H2O(g) → 0.53 CH4(g) + 0.47 CO2(g) (1)
標準状態(低い水の分圧)ではバイオマスと水との反応は式(1)のとおりには進行しないかもしくは完全には進行せず、副産物、例えばタールまたは固定炭素(コークス)が生じる。反応(1)が完全に進行するように反応条件を選択することに成功した場合には高い熱効率を期待することができる。というのも反応(1)が易発熱性であるからである。理論的に最大限に可能な効率は、(木材の低発熱量Huに対して)95%である。商業的プロセスについての出願人により実施されたシステム分析から、達成可能な効率が木材については70−80%の範囲内であることがわかった。このことは“Vogel, F.およびF. Hildebrand、「Catalytic Hydrothermal Gasification of Woody Biomass at High Feed Concentrations」Chem. Eng. Trans. 2、2002年、771−777頁”(非特許文献2)に詳しく記載されている。これは木材からメタンに転化する他の方法の効率より顕著に高い。

1. 次の工程段階、すなわち
a)所望の乾質率に調整しながらバイオマスからバイオマスパルプ状物を調製する段階、
b)バイオマスパルプ状物に圧力を加える段階、
c)バイオマスパルプ状物の固形有機成分の液化のために、バイオマスパルプ状物を加圧下に加熱する段階、
d)このように加圧されかつ加熱されたバイオマスパルプ状物を、さらに少なくともこの混合物の特有の臨界温度まで加熱する段階、
e)加圧及び高められた温度下に、その際に析出する固体を液相から分離する段階、
及び
f)反応器を用いて加圧及び高められた温度下に、前記残りの液相の少なくとも一部をメタン富化ガスにガス化する段階、
を含むバイオマスからメタンを生成する方法。
2. 加圧されたメタン富化ガスを残りの液相から分離することを特徴とする上記1に記載の方法。
3. メタン富化ガスを加圧下に冷却し、これにより形成する固体のメタンハイドレートをその他のガス成分、特にCO2および/または一酸化炭素及び水素から、及び好ましくは残りの水から分離することを特徴とする上記1または2に記載の方法。
4. 加圧されたメタン豊化ガス中のガス化で生じたメタンを、好ましくは圧力の利用下に、洗浄塔法、膜分離法もしくは吸着装置法を用いてその他のガス成分、特にCO2および/または一酸化炭素および/または水素から分離することを特徴とする上記3に記載の方法。
5. 段階a)の際に、バイオマスを湿式粉砕によって細化し及び水の供給または除去を行って、乾質率5〜80質量%、好ましくは15〜40質量%に調整することを特徴とする上記1〜4のいずれか一つに記載の方法。
6. バイオマスパルプ状物のポンプ移送性の改善のために他の添加剤、特にデンプンまたは廃油が添加されることを特徴とする上記5に記載の方法。
7. 段階b)の際にバイオマスパルプ状物を200〜400バールの範囲に加圧することを特徴とする上記1〜6のいずれか一つに記載の方法。
8. バイオマスパルプ状物を段階b)後に加圧下に200〜400℃、好ましくは250〜350℃に加熱することを特徴とする上記7に記載の方法。
9. より良好な加熱および液化のために静的混合要素および/または触媒、例えば酸化亜鉛を使用することを特徴とする上記8に記載の方法。
10. 段階d)の際に、より高い温度レベルが、少なくともその混合物の特有の臨界温度であることを特徴とする上記1〜9のいずれか一つに記載の方法。
11. より高い温度レベルを
− 外部から熱を供給することによって、例えば、戻された生成ガスが供給されるバーナー/触媒バーナーを備えた熱交換器を介して外部から熱を供給することによってか あるいは
− 適当な酸化剤、例えば酸素、空気、過酸化水素、硝酸アンモニウムおよびその他の硝酸塩を添加して、バイオマスパルプ状物を部分的に酸化することによって 達成することを特徴とする上記10に記載の方法。
12. 塩およびその他の固形物を析出させそしてこれを捕集し、この際、この捕集した沈殿物を連続的または定期的にガス化前にプロセスから排出することを特徴とする上記10または11に記載の方法。
13. 段階f)の際に、所望の生成ガス組成をより迅速に調整するために触媒を使用することを特徴とする上記1〜12のいずれか一つに記載の方法。
14. 触媒が活性金属としてニッケル、ルテニウムまたはロジウムを含有することを特徴とする上記13に記載の方法。
15. 触媒反応器が好ましくは流動層反応器、モノリシック反応器、壁形反応器または管状反応器として構成され、その際、付属の管または管束が触媒で被覆されているか、あるいは管内に積み重ねられた触媒被覆された板を使用することを特徴とする上記13または14に記載の方法。
16. 触媒によるガス化を超臨界条件下に実施することを特徴とする上記1〜15のいずれか一つに記載の方法。
a)バイオマスからバイオマスパルプ状物を最適な固形分の割合の調整下に調製する工程段階、
b)バイオマスパルプ状物に圧力を加える工程段階、
c)バイオマスパルプ状物の固形有機成分の液化のためにバイオマスパルプを加圧下に加熱する工程段階、
d)このように加圧されかつ加熱されたバイオマスパルプを、さらに少なくともその混合物の特有の臨界温度まで加熱する工程段階、
e)加圧及び高められた温度下に、その際に析出した固体を液相から分離する工程段階、及び
f)触媒反応器を用いて、加圧及び高められた温度下に、液相の少なくとも一部をメタン富化ガスにガス化する工程段階。
− 外部から熱を供給することによって、例えば、戻された生成ガスが供給されるバーナー/触媒バーナーを備えた熱交換器を介して外部から熱を供給することによってか
あるいは
− バイオマスパルプ状物の有機成分の部分酸化が行なわれるように、低温のあるいは幾分加熱したバイオマスパルプ状物に、適当な酸化剤、例えば酸素、空気、過酸化水素、硝酸アンモニウムおよびその他の硝酸塩を添加することによって(
上記酸化反応は発熱性であり、バイオマスパルプ状物を所望の温度にするのに十分な熱を好ましくは発生させる。)、
あるいは
− はじめの両方の方法を組み合わせることによって、
達成することができる。
好ましくは、触媒は高いニッケル含量を有し、例えばルテニウム、モリブデン、クロムおよび/または銅の1種またはそれ以上の元素を含有するラネー(登録商標)ニッケルである。
ステップ1:約20℃および1バールでTM含量5〜50質量%(TM=固形分)を調整しながらバイオマスを収容するための緩衝用容器を形成する。
ステップ10:固体のガスハイドレートを、加圧下の残りの気相および液相から約10℃および300バールで析出および分離する。残りの気相および液相を1バールに減圧し、気相を液相から分離する。
ステップ13 例えば約30℃および280バールで高圧洗浄することによってガス分離を行う。この際、メタンCH4が別のガス成分、例えばCO2および水素から分離、捕集される。
・バイオマスの反応が水中で及び水と行なわれる。湿ったあるいは濡れたバイオマスを乾かす必要がない。そのことによって本方法のより高いエネルギー効率を達成することができる。
湿式粉砕によって、細化されかつ所望の固形分の割合(TM)に調節される。それによりポンプ移送可能なパルプ状物が生じる。ポンプ性能の改善のために、バイオマスに他の添加剤(例えばデンプン、廃油)を添加することができる。所望の固形分の割合は5〜80質量%、好ましくは約15〜40質量%である。この方法は、有機固形分の割合が約20質量%以上である場合に特に経済的に行われる。
Claims (15)
- 次の工程段階、すなわち
a)所望の固形分の割合に調整しながらバイオマスからバイオマスパルプ状物を調製する段階、
b)バイオマスパルプ状物に圧力を加える段階、
c)バイオマスパルプ状物の固形有機成分の液化のために、バイオマスパルプ状物を加圧下に加熱する段階、
d)このように加圧されかつ加熱されたバイオマスパルプ状物を、さらに少なくともこの混合物の特有の臨界温度まで加熱する段階、
e)加圧及び高められた温度下に、その際に析出する固体を液相から分離する段階、
及び
f)反応器を用いて加圧及び高められた温度下に、前記残りの液相の少なくとも一部をメタン富化ガスにガス化する段階、
を含むバイオマスからメタンを生成する方法。 - 加圧されたメタン富化ガスを残りの液相から分離することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- メタン富化ガスを加圧下に冷却し、これにより形成する固体のメタンハイドレートをCO2および/または一酸化炭素及び水素から、及び残りの水から分離することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 加圧されたメタン富化ガス中のガス化で生じたメタンを、圧力の利用下に、洗浄塔法、膜分離法もしくは吸着装置法を用いてCO2および/または一酸化炭素および/または水素から分離することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 段階a)の際に、バイオマスを湿式粉砕によって細化し及び水の供給または除去を行って、固形分の割合を5〜80質量%に調整することを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- バイオマスパルプ状物のポンプ移送性の改善のためにデンプンまたは廃油が添加されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の方法。
- 段階b)の際にバイオマスパルプ状物を200〜400バールの範囲に加圧することを特徴とする請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- バイオマスパルプ状物を段階b)後に加圧下に200〜400℃に加熱することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。
- より良好な加熱および液化のために静的混合要素および/または触媒を使用することを特徴とする請求項8に記載の方法。
- d)の際、バイオマスパルプ状物の加熱を混合物の特有の臨界温度を上回る温度まで行い、当該加熱を
− 外部から熱を供給することによって
あるいは
− 適当な酸化剤を添加して、バイオマスパルプ状物を部分的に酸化することによって
達成することを特徴とする請求項9に記載の方法。 - 塩およびその他の固形物を析出させそしてこれを捕集し、この際、この捕集した沈殿物を連続的または定期的にガス化前にプロセスから排出することを特徴とする請求項10に記載の方法。
- 段階f)の際に、所望の生成ガス組成をより迅速に調整するために触媒を使用することを特徴とする請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 触媒が活性金属としてニッケル、ルテニウムまたはロジウムを含有することを特徴とする請求項12に記載の方法。
