Description
例えば、電子輸送層(ETL:Electron Transport Layer)が有機発光層(EML:Emitting Layer)と陰極の間に位置するようになると、陰極から発光層に注入された電子の大部分は正孔と再結合するために陽極の方へ移動する。
(1)先ず、透明な基板上に陽極材料を被覆する。陽極材料としては主にITO(インジウム錫酸化物)が用いられる。
(2)その上に正孔注入層(HIL)を被覆する。正孔注入層としては主に銅フタロシアニン(CuPC)を10〜30nmの厚さで被覆する。
(3)その後、正孔輸送層(HTL)を被覆する。このような正孔輸送層として、4,4’−ビス[N−(1−ナフチル)−N−フェニルアミノ]−ビフェニル(NPB)を30ないし60nm程度蒸着して被覆する。
(4)その上に有機発光層を形成する。このとき、必要に応じてドーパントを添加する。緑色発光の場合、主に有機発光層としてトリス(8−ヒドロキシキノレート)アルミニウム(Alq3)を30〜60nmの厚さで蒸着し、ドーパントとしてはMQD(N−メチルキナクリドン)を多用する。
(5)その上に電子輸送層(ETL)および電子注入層(EIL:Electron Injecting Layer)を連続的に被覆するか、それとも電子注入輸送層を形成する。緑色発光の場合、前記(4)のAlq3が優れた電子輸送能力を有しているため、電子注入/輸送層を用いない場合も多い。
(6)その後、陰極を形成し、最後に保護膜を重ねて被覆する。
1,3,5−トリブロモベンゼン(10g、0.031mol)をTHF(50mL)に溶かし、−40℃で先に生成したトリブチルマグネシウムリチウムを徐々に滴下して50分間攪拌した後、塩化チタニウム(TiCl4、3.4g、0.021mol)を滴下して0℃で2時間攪拌する。
正孔注入層としてCuPC、正孔輸送層としてNPBを使用して1mAの電流を流したとき、駆動電圧は8.5V、輝度は1541cd/m2を得、この際、CIEはx=0.351、y=0.612であった。
CuPC、NPB、Alq3の構造は下記の化学式の通りである。
変更および修正が可能なことが分かる。従って、本発明の技術的範囲は実施例に記載された内容に限定されるものではなく、特許請求の範囲によって定められなければならない。

- 前記置換されているR1〜R8のそれぞれの置換基は、メチル基、メトキシ基、フッ素原子およびシアノ基からなる群より選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の有機電界発光素子。
