Description
本発明によるフィルタエレメントは、1回の押出し工程によって製造することができ、しかもこの際に個々のフィルタセグメントを後で別体の結合手段例えば接着剤を介して互いに結合する必要はない。フィルタセグメントが互いに間隔をおいて位置していることによって、燃焼又は焼結工程中にフィルタセグメントにおいて生じる膨張を可能にする空間が得られ、この際にフィルタセグメントに高い内部応力が生じることはなく、隣接したフィルタセグメントに圧縮応力が加えられることもない。
図1には内燃機関が符号10で示されている。排ガスは排ガス管12を介して排ガス浄化装置14に導かれる。この排ガス浄化装置14は、パティキュレートフィルタとも呼ばれる微粒子フィルタ16を有しており、この微粒子フィルタ16によって、排ガス管12内を流れる排ガスから煤微粒子が除去される。このことは特にディーゼル機関においては、法規制を維持するために必要である。
Claims (22)
- 内燃機関(10)の排ガスを濾過するためのフィルタエレメント(18)であって、互いに平行な複数の流路が設けられていて、この場合少なくとも2つのフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)が設けられていて、これらのフィルタセグメントがそれぞれ流路(28,30)の部分量を有している形式のものにおいて、フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)が互いの間に間隔(52)を有していて、フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)と一体に形成された結合手段(48)を介して互いに結合されており、互いに隣接し合うフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)の間に複数の結合手段(48)が設けられており、該結合手段(48)が、流路(28,30)に対して平行に延びるウェブとして形成されていて、該ウェブとして形成された結合手段(48)が、互いに隣接し合うフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)のセグメント境界(44)の間における中間室(46)をブリッジしていることを特徴とするフィルタエレメント(18)。
- フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)が少なくとも部分的に炭化ケイ素から形成されている、請求項1記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)が少なくとも部分的にコーディエライトから形成されている、請求項1又は2記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)が、全体として円筒形のフィルタエレメント(18)を形成している、請求項1から3までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)の大きさが、横断面で見て400〜1600mm2である、請求項1から4までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- フィルタエレメント(18)が少なくとも4つのフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)を有している、請求項1から5までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 中央に配置された少なくとも1つのフィルタセグメント(36)が、横断面正方形である、請求項1から6までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 中央に配置された少なくとも1つのフィルタセグメント(60)が、横断面円形である、請求項1から6までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 少なくともフィルタエレメント(18)の周囲に沿って配置されたフィルタセグメント(62)が、少なくとも部分的に円形セグメント形状つまり扇形である、請求項1から8までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 流路(28,30)のセル密度が、80〜350cpsi(channnels per square inch)である、請求項1から9までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 互いに隣接し合うフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)の間の間隔(52)が0.5〜10mmの間である、請求項1から10までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 互いに隣接し合うフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)の間の間隔(52)が1〜5mmの間である、請求項1から11までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- ウェブが0.5〜10mmの間の材料厚を有している、請求項1から12までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- ウェブの材料厚が、流路(28,30)を画成するフィルタセグメントのフィルタ壁(32)の壁厚よりも小さい、請求項1から13までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- ウェブが中央領域(54)に、フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)に直に隣接した外側領域におけるよりも小さな壁厚を有している、請求項1から14までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- ウェブの曲げ破断強さがその中央領域(54)において、フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)の曲げ破断強さの最大60%である、請求項1から15までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 互いに結合された2つのフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)の間の間隔(52)によって生ぜしめられた中間室(46)が、少なくとも部分的に充填材料(58)によって満たされている、請求項1から16までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 中間室(46)が流路(28,30)に対して平行な方向において、流路(28,30)の長さの少なくとも20%を満たされている、請求項17記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 充填材料(58)が下記の構成材料のうちの少なくとも1つを、すなわちセラミック粉末、二酸化ケイ素、酸化アルミニウム、無機の結合剤、二酸化ケイ素ゾル、酸化アルミニウムゾル、セラミック繊維、ムライト繊維、酸化アルミニウム繊維といった構成材料のうちの少なくとも1つを有している、請求項17又は18記載のフィルタエレメント(18)。
- 請求項1から19までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)を備えた微粒子フィルタ(16)。
- 請求項1から19までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)を備えた微粒子フィルタ(16)を有する、排ガス浄化装置(14)。
- 請求項1から19までのいずれか1項記載のフィルタエレメント(18)を製造する方法であって、それぞれフィルタエレメント(18)の流路(28,30)の少なくとも1つの部分量を有する互いに異なったフィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)を、結合手段(48)を介して互いに結合させる形式の方法において、フィルタセグメント(36〜42,60〜62)と結合手段(48)とを互いに一体に押出し成形することを特徴とする、フィルタエレメント(18)を製造する方法。
