Claims (20)
- 1層以上のポリマーからなる第一層及び、1層以上のポリマーからなる第二層を有し、
前記第一層は、−0.01以上、+0.01以下の面外複屈折(Δnth)を示すポリマーを有し;
前記第二層は、+0.01より正である面外複屈折を示す非晶性ポリマーを有し;
全体の面内レターデーション(Rin)が+20nmより正であり、かつ全体の面外レターデーション(Rth)が+20nmより正であり、さらに、前記1層以上の第一層の面内レターデーション(Rin)は、前記の多層補償子の全体の面内レターデーションの30%以下であり、
第二層のうちの少なくとも1層が、臭素化ポリビニルカルバゾール、ポリビニルジブロモカルバゾール、ポリアクリルカルバゾール、ポリn−ビニルナフタルイミド、セルロースジアセテートナフタレート、ポリ[オクタヒドロ−5−(ナフチルオキシカルボニル)−5−メチル−4,7−メタノ−1H−インデン−1,3−ジイル]−1,2−エタンジイル、又はこれらの2種以上を含むポリマーを有する、多層補償子。 - 第一層うちの少なくとも1層が、トリアセチルセルロース、セルロースジアセテート、セルロースアセテートブチレート、ポリカーボネート、環状ポリオレフィン、フルオレン基を含有するポリアリレートを有する、請求項1に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記の層のうち少なくとも2つの層が隣接する、請求項1または2に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記第一層及び前記第二層の全てが隣接する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記複数の第二層を組み合わせた厚みが、30μm未満である、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記複数の第二層を組み合わせた厚みが、1.0から30μmの範囲である、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記複数の第二層を組み合わせた厚みが、2から8μmである、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 全体の面内レターデーション(Rin)が、21から200nmである、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 全体の面内レターデーション(Rin)が25から150nmである、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 全体の面内レターデーション(Rin)が25から100nmである、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記第一層と前記第二層とを組み合わせた厚みが200μm未満である、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記第一層と前記第二層とを組み合わせた厚みが40から150μmである、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 前記第一層と前記第二層とを組み合わせた厚みが80から110μmである、請求項1〜10のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子。
- 液晶セルと、前記セルの各面に一枚ずつ設置されている一対の交差偏光子と、少なくとも1つの請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子と、を有する液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記液晶セルが、垂直配向セル、ツイステッド・ネマチックセル、インプレーンスイッチングモードセル、又は光学補償ベント液晶セルである、請求項14に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 液晶セルと、少なくとも1枚の偏光子と、反射板と少なくとも1つの請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の補償子と、を有する液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記液晶セルが、垂直配向セル、ツイステッド・ネマチックセル、インプレーンスイッチングモードセル、又は光学補償ベント液晶セルである、請求項16に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 請求項1〜13のいずれか1項に記載の多層補償子を製造する方法であって、
ポリマーを有する1層以上からなる第一層上に、溶媒中に非晶性ポリマーを有する1層以上の第二層をコーティング又は共流延する工程、及び
前記第一層が、−0.01以上、0.01以下の面外(Δnth)複屈折を示し;
前記第二層が、+0.01より正である面外複屈折を示し;
前記多層補償子全体の面内レターデーション(Rin)が+20nmより正であり、;
全体の面外レターデーション(Rth)が+20nmより正であり、;
前記1層以上の第一層の面内レターデーション(Rin)は、前記の多層補償子の全体の面内レターデーションの30%以下;
となるように前記第一層及び前記第二層を延伸する工程、
を有する液晶ディスプレイ用補償子の製造方法。 - 前記延伸工程が、前記第一層及び、前記第二層の少なくとも一端を保持する工程、及び、
前記第一層及び、前記第二層の少なくとも一方を加熱によって乾燥させる工程、を有する、請求項18に記載の製造方法。 - 前記第一層及び、前記第二層を加熱前に乾燥させることで溶媒を除去する工程の後に、前記第一層及び、前記第二層を延伸する工程をさらに有する、請求項18に記載の製造方法。
