Description
また、本発明は、簡単な方法で工程数を増やすことなく絶縁破壊を防止することができる表示装置を提供することを目的とする。
基板上に形成された、少なくとも1つの第1電極と、該第1電極よりその電気抵抗値が低い第2電極と、前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に挟持された発光機能層と、前記基板に対向して貼り合わされ、前記第1電極、前記第2電極および前記発光機能層を保護する封止板と、を有し、
前記第1電極はデータ電極であり、前記第2電極は走査電極であり、
前記基板上には前記第1電極および前記第2電極に電気的に接続された電極端子をそれぞれ備え、
前記第1電極に電気的に接続された電極端子のみに、その電気抵抗値が前記第1電極より高い抵抗領域を形成し、
前記抵抗領域は、外気に露出されないように、前記基板上の前記封止板と対向する面内に配置されている、ことを特徴とする。
前記抵抗領域は、前記電極端子と異なる材料または組成を有してもよい。
前記抵抗領域は、前記電極端子の膜厚とは厚みが異なっている箇所を有してもよい。
前記抵抗領域は、その電気抵抗値が、例えば、1kΩ以上100kΩ以下である。
表1に示すように、抵抗領域31の電気抵抗値(ヒューズ抵抗)が0.6kΩ以上で有機EL素子の絶縁破壊を起こす電圧が高くなることが確認できた。また、抵抗領域31の電気抵抗値が1.9kΩ以上で、抵抗領域31が断線(画素より先にヒューズが断線)し、抵抗領域31がヒューズとして機能することが確認できた。このように、抵抗領域31を形成することにより、絶縁破壊を防止することができることが確認できた。

Claims (7)
- 基板上に形成された、少なくとも1つの第1電極と、該第1電極よりその電気抵抗値が低い第2電極と、前記第1電極と前記第2電極との間に挟持された発光機能層と、前記基板に対向して貼り合わされ、前記第1電極、前記第2電極および前記発光機能層を保護する封止板と、を有し、
前記第1電極はデータ電極であり、前記第2電極は走査電極であり、
前記基板上には前記第1電極および前記第2電極に電気的に接続された電極端子をそれぞれ備え、
前記第1電極に電気的に接続された電極端子のみに、その電気抵抗値が前記第1電極より高い抵抗領域を形成し、
前記抵抗領域は、外気に露出されないように、前記基板上の前記封止板と対向する面内に配置されている、ことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記抵抗領域は、前記第1電極と前記電極端子との少なくとも一方と同一の材料から形成されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記抵抗領域は、前記電極端子と異なる材料または組成を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記抵抗領域は、その線幅が前記電極端子の線幅より狭く形成されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記抵抗領域は、前記電極端子の膜厚とは厚みが異なっている箇所を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記抵抗領域は、その電気抵抗値が500Ω以上1MΩ未満である、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
- 前記抵抗領域は、その電気抵抗値が1kΩ以上100kΩ以下である、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置。
