Claims (3)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられ、酸化機能を有するとともに排ガスを浄化する上流側触媒と、
当該上流側触媒よりも下流側の前記排気通路に設けられ、酸化雰囲気の排ガス中のNOxを捕捉するとともに、還元剤を含む還元雰囲気の排ガスが供給されることにより、当該捕捉したNOxを還元することによって浄化するNOx触媒と、
前記NOx触媒にNOxの還元動作を行わせるために、前記還元剤を前記上流側触媒の上流側に供給することにより、前記NOx触媒に流入する排ガスを還元雰囲気に制御する還元制御を実行する還元制御手段と、
前記排気通路の前記上流側触媒よりも上流側に設けられ、前記排気通路内の排ガスの空燃比を検出空燃比として検出する空燃比検出手段と、
を備え、
当該還元制御手段は、
前記還元制御の実行中、前記検出された前記検出空燃比が理論空燃比を含む理論空燃比近傍の所定の判定値以下のときに、前記上流側触媒によって消費される排ガス中の前記還元剤の量を還元剤消費量として所定の算出周期で算出するとともに、前記検出された検出空燃比が前記所定の判定値よりも大きいときに、当該還元剤消費量を値0を含む極小の値に設定する還元剤消費量算出手段と、
前記還元制御の実行中、当該算出された還元剤消費量に応じて、前記還元制御の開始時から現時点までの間に前記NOx触媒に供給された還元剤の総量を積算還元剤量として算出する積算還元剤量算出手段と、
前記還元制御の実行中、前記算出された積算還元剤量が所定値を上回ったときに、前記還元制御を終了する還元制御終了手段と、
を有することを特徴とする内燃機関の排ガス浄化装置。 - 前記還元剤消費量算出手段は、前記上流側触媒に貯蔵されている酸素の量を酸素貯蔵量として算出する酸素貯蔵量算出手段をさらに有し、前記検出空燃比が前記所定の判定値以下のときに算出された前記酸素貯蔵量が大きいほど、前記還元剤消費量をより大きい値に算出することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排ガス浄化装置。
- 前記還元剤消費量算出手段は、前記上流側触媒の劣化度合を算出する劣化度合算出手段と、前記検出空燃比が前記所定の判定値以下のときに算出された当該劣化度合に応じて、前記還元剤消費量を補正する補正手段とをさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の内燃機関の排ガス浄化装置。
