Description
本出願は、2004年1月23日に出願された米国仮出願第60/538,904号明細書の利益を主張する。
非ブチラール化ビニルアルコール基が公称23重量%の100部の乾燥PVBフレークを、2軸スクリュー押出機中で、1種類以上の光安定剤および酸化防止剤とあらかじめ混合されている35〜40部のテトラエチレングリコールジ−n−ヘプタノエートまたはPVBと併用すると有用であることが知られている他の可塑剤と連続的に混合する。得られた溶融物を、スロットダイに通して、シーティングの内側の公称厚さ0.038mmおよび縁端部の公称厚さ0.040mmのシーティングを形成する。
組立体中の間隙空間の絶対圧力を測定することが可能な装置を使用して、特殊なパターンを有する中間層の脱気効率を求める。上部ガラス板の中央に孔を開けたことを除けば、通常の組立体として試験する中間層を組み立てる。ガラス、中間層、およびすべての補助設備は、試験前に22.5±2.5℃で1時間平衡化させる必要がある。中間層が両面で2つの明確に異なるパターンを有する場合は、評価すべき表面パターンを有する面を、孔を有するガラス板と接触させる。圧力(または真空)カプラーの底部を、ガラスの孔の周囲に取り付けて封止する(真空カプラーは、接続した場合に、密閉物と外側との間で空気を移動可能にする装置である)。織物片(幅約30mm)を組立体の縁端部周囲に巻き付ける。別の真空カプラープレートの底部を、コーナーの1つの2層の綿織物(50mm×50mm)の表面に配置する。次に、周囲が通気性である組立体、およびカプラーの2枚の底部プレートとを厚さ0.1mmのナイロン袋の中に入れる。次にこの袋をヒートシールする。底部プレートのすぐ上で袋に十字に切り込みを入れる。図1に示されるようにナイロン袋を介して真空カプラーを取り付け、漏れがないように注意する。コーナープレートを真空源(大気圧基準で公称−84kPa)に取り付け、そのコーナープレートを真空計または較正した圧力変換器に取り付ける。真空を適用した後に所与の間隔で、真空計の読み取り値(または変換器の出力)を記録する。記録データは、真空適用後最初の1分間で10秒間隔、その後1/2分間で15秒間隔、その後さらに1/2分間で30秒間隔、さらに減圧適用から最大10分間で1分間隔での絶対間隙圧力を含む。効率的な真空脱気が可能な表面では、数分以内に絶対間隙圧力が急激に低下する。減圧90秒後における間隙圧力は、中間層の脱気がいかにうまく行えるかの指標となる。減圧90秒後において、絶対間隙圧力が53.3kPaを超える場合は、脱気が不十分であり、その中間層は真空脱気に適していない。
高い周囲温度における脱気効率の測定は、試験する中間層、ガラス、カプラーのすべてを試験前に30.5±2.5℃で平衡化させることを除けば室温における測定と同様である。減圧90秒後における、絶対間隙圧力が53.3kPaを超える場合は、脱気が不十分であり、その中間層は、夏期のような周囲温度が高い場合の真空脱気に適していない。
ポリビニルブチラールシーティングを前述の一般手順により押し出す。このシーティングはテトラエチレングリコールジ−n−ヘプタノエートで可塑化される。このシーティングについて、前述の手順により22.5℃および30.5℃において脱気効率を試験する。

2. 円筒形状のポリマーロールの製造方法であって、ポリマーシートの最縁端部が、前記ポリマーシートの中間部分よりも厚くなるようにポリマーシートを押し出すステップと、最初にロールの前記縁端部がロールの前記中間よりも大きな円周を有するように、前記押し出されたシートを巻き取りロール上に巻き取ることによって、前記押し出されたポリマーからロールを形成するステップと、縁端部における前記ポリマーロールの円周が、前記ポリマーロールの前記中間の円周の10%以内となるのに十分な時間の間ポリマーロールを巻き取りロール上に維持するステップとを含む方法。
3. 本発明の方法により製造された中間層を含む積層体。
Claims (6)
- 円筒形状のポリビニルブチラール中間層ロールの製造方法であって、(a)ポリビニルブチラール中間層シートの最縁端部が、前記ポリビニルブチラール中間層シートの中間部分よりも厚くなるようにポリビニルブチラール中間層シートを押し出すステップと、(b)最初にロールの前記縁端部がロールの前記中間部分よりも大きな円周を有するように、前記押し出されたポリビニルブチラール中間層シートを巻き取りロール上に巻き取ることによって、前記押し出されたポリビニルブチラール中間層シートからロールを形成するステップと、(c)前記ポリビニルブチラール中間層ロールをエージングし、該エージングによって、前記縁端部における前記ポリビニルブチラール中間層ロールの円周が、前記ポリビニルブチラール中間層ロールの前記中間部分の円周の10%以内となるのに十分な時間の間ポリビニルブチラール中間層ロールを巻き取りロール上に維持するステップとを含む方法。
- ポリビニルブチラール中間層シートからロールを形成する前に、ポリビニルブチラール中間層シートの表面を粗面化することを、さら含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 粗面化が、ポリビニルブチラール中間層シートに機械的エンボス加工し、次いで冷却することを含む請求項2記載の方法。
- 粗面化が、ポリビニルブチラール中間層シートの押出中にメルトフラクチャーを形成させた後冷却することを含む請求項2記載の方法。
- ポリビニルブチラール中間層シートが、トリエチレングリコールジ−n−ヘプタノエート、テトラエチレングリコールジ−n−ヘプタノエート、トリエチレングリコールジ−2−エチルブチレートおよびトリエチレングリコールジ−2−エチルヘキサノエートからなる群より選択される可塑剤で可塑化されており、かつポリビニルブチラール中間層シートが、接着調整剤として、アルカリ金属またはアルカリ土類金属のカルボン酸塩を含有する請求項1〜4のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- ポリビニルブチラール中間層と少なくとも1枚のガラスからガラスラミネートを製造する工程をさらに含む請求項1〜5のいずれか1項記載の方法。
