Description
14により吸気管20内の圧力を検出することで、以下に説明するように好適な吸気量制御が可能となる。
(ステップ1002)。この場合において、EGR流量センサ12によって検出される
EGRガス流量の検出値がゼロの場合、EGRガスが流れていないと判別できる。そこでEGR流量の検出値がゼロの場合は制御弁を閉弁する(ステップ1003)。ここで
「EGR流量の検出値がゼロ」とは、EGR流量センサの検出値が厳密にゼロである場合のみならず、EGR流量の検出値が、EGR流量を制御する目的からみて実質的にゼロとみなし得る所定範囲以内(0±α以内)になった場合も含む意味である。
19を運転する実験を行う。そして、それぞれの閾値について発生した逆流値の平均値を算出し、当該平均値が最も低くなる閾値を採用することができる。
(ステップ1105)。一方、この逆流到達時間がマイナスでなければ、現時点で逆流の可能性があると判別して次のステップ1106に進む(ステップ1105)。
1106で算出した閾値以下であるか否かを判断する。ここでEGR流量の検出値が閾値以下の場合は、EGR制御弁11を閉弁する(ステップ1005)。逆流状態に近くなっていると判断できるからである。一方、EGR流量の検出値が閾値より大きいときは、処理を終了してスタートに戻る(ステップ1107)。
91を構成する。これによりEGR制御弁は、第一のEGR通路92を介してEGRガスを通過させる状態と、当該第一のEGR通路よりも管路長が長い第二のEGR通路93を介してEGRガスを通過させる状態と、EGRガスの通過を遮断する閉弁状態とを切り換えることが出来る。なお、特に説明しない構成については図1と同様である。

Claims (4)
- 内燃機関の排気ガスを排気通路から吸気通路に循環させる排気ガス再循環通路に設けられたEGR制御弁と、
前記排気ガス再循環通路を流れるEGRガスの流量を測定する測定手段と、
前記測定手段からの入力を受け、当該EGRガスの流れ方向が前記内燃機関の排気側から吸気側に流れている順流状態であって、前記EGRガスの流量が所定の閾値よりも小さいときは、前記EGR制御弁を閉じる制御手段と、
吸気の流量を計測する吸気流量計測手段と、
前記排気ガス再循環通路は、第一の通路と当該第一の通路よりも管路長が長い第二の通路とを備え、
前記制御手段は、前記EGRガスの流れ方向が前記内燃機関の排気側から吸気側に流れている順流状態であって、計測された吸気の流量の脈動周期が所定の閾値よりも大きいときは前記第一の通路を選択し、当該吸気の流量の脈動周期が前記閾値以下であるときは前記第二の通路を選択することを特徴とするEGR制御弁の制御装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記排気ガス再循環通路は分岐点を有し、当該分岐点から吸気通路までのそれぞれの管路長を異ならせることにより前記第一の通路及び第二の通路を形成し、
前記EGR制御弁は、当該分岐点に配置された三方弁であることを特徴とするEGR制御弁の制御装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記第一の通路に、前記EGRガスを冷却する冷却手段を設けることを特徴とするEGR制御弁の制御装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記吸気通路と前記排気ガス循環通路との合流点より前記内燃機関側に設けられ、前記吸気と前記EGRガスとの混合気の温度を計測する温度計測手段と、
前記第一の通路若しくは前記第二の通路に設けられ、前記EGRガスを冷却する冷却手段とを備え、
前記制御手段は、前記混合気の温度が所定の目標値となるように、前記第一の通路を通るEGRガスの流量と、前記第二の通路を通るEGRガスの流量とを制御することを特徴とするEGR制御弁の制御装置。
