Description
本発明で使用するのに適した芳香族ポリカーボネート樹脂、ポリカーボネート樹脂の製造方法、及び熱可塑性成形用コンパウンド中でのポリカーボネート樹脂の使用は当技術分野で周知である。概説として、米国特許第3169121号、同第4487896号及び同第5411999号を参照されたい。これらのそれぞれの開示内容は、援用により本明細書の内容の一部をなす。
アルキレンアリールポリエステルという用語は、炭素原子数2〜約10の脂肪族若しくは環式脂肪族ジオール又はこれらの混合物と、1種以上の芳香族ジカルボン酸とから誘導されたポリエステルのような結晶性熱可塑性ポリエステルをいう。好ましいポリエステルは脂肪族ジオールと芳香族ジカルボン酸から誘導され、次の一般式の繰返し単位を有する。
本組成物は、耐衝撃性改良剤、好ましくはゴム様コアとその上にグラフト化された1以上のシェルとで構成されるコア−シェルポリマーを含んでいる。典型的なコア物質は実質的にアクリレートゴムからなる。好ましいコアはC4〜C12アクリレートから誘導されてなるアクリレートゴムである。通例、1以上のシェルがこのコア上にグラフト化されている。通常これらのシェルは大部分がビニル芳香族化合物及び/又はシアン化ビニル及び/又はアルキル(メタ)アクリレート及び/又は(メタ)アクリル酸から構成される。好ましいシェルはアルキル(メタ)アクリレート、より好ましくはメチル(メタ)アクリレートから誘導される。コア及び/又は1以上のシェルは架橋剤及び/又はグラフト化剤として機能し得る多官能性化合物を含むことが多い。これらのポリマーは通常幾つかの段階で製造される。コア−シェルポリマーの製造及びポリカーボネートと組み合わせた耐衝撃性改良剤としての用途は、米国特許第3864428号及び同第4264487号に記載されている。特に好ましいグラフト化ポリマーはRohm & HaasからPARALOID(登録商標)、例えばPARALOID(登録商標)EXL3330及びEXL2300という商標で入手できるコア−シェルポリマーである。
好ましいポリシロキサン−ポリカーボネートブロックコポリマーは、Hooverによる「Polymer blends of Polycarbonate−Polysiloxane blcok Copolymers with Polycarbonate and Polyestercarbonate Copolymers」と題する同時係属中の米国特許出願第08/062485号(出願人事件番号8CL−7015)に記載されている。このブレンドは、次式の繰返しポリシロキサンブロックを有するポリシロキサンを含んでいる。
難燃性添加剤は、ポリエステル樹脂の可燃性を、好ましくはUL94のV−0等級にまで低下するのに充分な量以上で存在するのが望ましい。この量は樹脂の種類及び添加剤の効率によって変化する。しかし、一般に、添加剤の量は樹脂の重量を基準にして2〜30重量%である。好ましい範囲は約8〜20%である。
さらに、有利な特性に悪影響がないことを条件として、熱可塑性樹脂に対して無機充填材を使用するのが望ましいことがある。典型的な無機充填材としては、アルミナ、非晶質シリカ、無水アルミノケイ酸塩、雲母、ウォラストナイト、粘土、タルク、金属酸化物、例えば二酸化チタン、硫化亜鉛、粉砕石英、などがある。低レベル(0.1〜10.0重量%)の極めて小さい粒径(最大の粒子で直径10ミクロン未満)が好ましい。
本発明のポリエステル樹脂はさらに強化材、充填材及び着色剤とブレンドしてもよい。
本発明の組成物は、既に述べた望ましい特性を損なわないが他の有利な特性を高める追加の成分、例えば酸化防止剤、着色剤(例えば、染料及び顔料)、潤滑剤、離型剤、造核剤又は紫外線(UV)安定剤を含んでいてもよい。潤滑剤の例はアルキルエステル、例えばペンタエリトリトールテトラステアレート、アルキルアミド、例えばエチレンビス−ステアラミド、及びポリオレフィン、例えばポリエチレンである。
(a)25〜60%のポリカーボネート、
(b)25〜50%のアルキレンテレフタレート、
(c)5〜15%のアクリルゴムコアシェル耐衝撃性改良剤、
(d)5〜20%のオルガノポリシロキサン−ポリカーボネート、
(e)5〜20%の難燃剤。
ブレンドの組成と試験結果を表2に示す。比較例A、B、及びCは、MBSを使用すると、耐候試験を受けていない試料で良好なノッチ付アイゾット衝撃が誘発されることを示している。しかし、A、B、及びCは、ASTM G26による促進耐候試験の1ヶ月(720時間)後衝撃特性が大幅に損なわれることを示している。比較例Cは、おそらく0.5%のUV吸収剤UVA5411のために、衝撃保持性及び色ずれの点で、B及びCより耐候性が多少良好であることを示している。しかし、実施例1では、耐候性がさらに大幅に改善された。実施例1は、PC_ST及びEXL3330を使用することによって良好な低温衝撃特性と耐候性の両方が得られることを示している。実施例1はUV吸収剤を含んでいないが、それでも、MBSを含む配合物よりずっと良好な耐候性をもっていることに留意されたい。
比較例F及びGは、EXL3330のみを使用することにより向上した耐候特性が得られることを立証している。しかし、EXL3330のみでは、−10℃及び−20℃で良好なノッチ付アイゾット衝撃は得られなかった。比較例D及びEは、S−2001がEXL3330より少し良好な初期ノッチ付アイゾットを誘発するが、UV暴露下での機器衝撃の早めの損失を引き起こすことを示している。実施例2は、PC_STとS−2001の組合せがブレンドのノッチ付アイゾット衝撃と耐候性を改善することを立証している。比較例D〜G及び実施例1〜2は、G26耐候試験後に、MBSを含む比較例A〜Cより低い色ずれを有することに留意されたい。
Claims (9)
- 25〜50質量%のポリエステルと25〜60質量%のポリカーボネートブレンドを、5〜20質量%のオルガノポリシロキサン−ポリカーボネートブロックコポリマー及び5〜15質量%の耐候性を高めるアクリル系コアシェル耐衝撃性改良剤、0.1〜10質量%の二酸化チタン及び難燃化量のハロゲン化難燃剤と共に含んでなる、耐候性の向上した改質難燃性樹脂成形用組成物。
- 前記アクリル系コアシェル耐衝撃性改良剤は、アクリルゴムであって、300〜800nmの粒径を有する、請求項1記載の難燃性樹脂成形用組成物。
- 前記アクリル系コアシェル耐衝撃性改良剤が、75〜99.8重量%のC1〜C14アルキルアクリレート、0.1〜5重量%の架橋剤、0.1〜5重量%のグラフト結合性モノマー(ここで、前記グラフト結合性モノマーは複数の付加重合可能な反応性基を有するポリエチレン性不飽和モノマーである)からなるモノマー系から重合した第1アクリルエラストマー相25〜95重量パーセントと、前記エラストマーの存在下で重合した最終硬質熱可塑性アクリル又はメタクリル相75〜5重量パーセントとを含んでなる多相複合共重合体からなる、請求項1記載の難燃性樹脂成形用組成物。
- 前記アクリル系コアシェル耐衝撃性改良剤が、75〜99.8重量%のC1〜C14アルキルアクリレート、0.1〜5重量%の架橋剤、0.1〜5重量%のグラフト結合性モノマー(ここで、前記グラフト結合性モノマーは複数の付加重合可能な反応性基を有するポリエチレン性不飽和モノマーである)からなるモノマー系から重合した第1アクリルエラストマー相25〜95重量パーセントと、前記エラストマーの存在下で重合した最終硬質熱可塑性アクリル又はメタクリル相75〜5重量パーセントとを含んでなる多相複合共重合体からなる、請求項2記載の難燃性樹脂成形用組成物。
- 前記アクリル系コアシェル耐衝撃性改良剤が、5〜50%のポリジメチルシロキサン、30〜99.8重量%のC1〜C14アルキルアクリレート、0.1〜5重量%の架橋剤、0.1〜5重量%のグラフト結合性モノマー(ここで、前記グラフト結合性モノマーは複数の付加重合可能な反応性基を有するポリエチレン性不飽和モノマーである)からなるモノマー系から重合した第1エラストマー相25〜95重量パーセントと、前記エラストマーの存在下で重合した最終硬質熱可塑性アクリル又はメタクリル相75〜5重量パーセントとを含んでなる多相複合共重合体からなる、請求項1記載の難燃性樹脂成形用組成物。
- 前記オルガノポリシロキサン−ポリカーボネートコポリマーが、次の一般式の繰返し単位を有するオルガノポリシロキサン−ポリカーボネートブロックを含む、請求項1記載の難燃性樹脂成形用組成物。
