Description
そこで本発明は、鉛フリー化を実現し、環境に優しいガラス電極を提供することをその主たる所期課題としたものである。
本実施形態にかかるガラス電極1は、図1、図2に示すように、複合型のpH電極10に適用されるもので、ガラス製の支持管2と、その支持管2の先端部に接合したガラス応答膜3とを備えている。
例えば、クラック発生率を大きく低減するためには、支持管ガラスの熱膨張係数を、pHガラスの熱膨張係数の±10%以内、さらに好ましくは数%にすることがよい。したがって、例えば各種pHガラスの熱膨張係数に合わせて、RO(アルカリ土類金属酸化物)やR2O(アルカリ金属酸化物)の含有比率を変えても構わないし、いずれか一方のみを含有させたものでもよい。
その他、本発明はその趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々の変形が可能である。

Claims (2)
- ガラス製支持管の先端部に水素イオンに感応するガラス応答膜を接合したものにおいて、前記ガラス応答膜が、リチウムを含む多成分系のガラスであり、前記支持管を形成するガラスに、鉛又は鉛化合物を含まず、かつ、熱膨張係数に関して前記ガラス応答膜に用いられるガラスの±20%以内にする目的で、リチウム酸化物を10〜20wt%含有させたものを用いることを特徴とするガラス電極。
- 前記支持管に用いられるガラスの内部抵抗が、ガラス応答膜に用いられるガラスの内部抵抗の100倍以上である請求項1記載のガラス電極。
