どの広告がユーザによって観られたのか、および番組ガイドにおいてどの対象が絞られたアクションがとられたかに関する情報は、このような測定の有効性を評価し、広告の格付けを設定し、観るパターンを分析するために重要である。どの対象が絞られた広告が表示されるか、番組ガイドにおいてどの対象が絞られたアクションがとられるかをモニタリングすることに含まれるステップを、図２８に示す。ステップ２９０で、ケーブルシステムオペレーターまたは他のサービスプロバイダは、統計的にサンプリングされた加入者の部分集合に対して、番組ガイドの特別なモニタリングバージョンを展開する。全ての加入者は、所望の場合、このような番組ガイドのモニタリングバージョンを供給され得る。しかし、全ての放送範囲に供給することは、正確な情報を得るために必要な訳ではなく、不必要に煩わしくさせ得る。番組ガイドの特別なバージョンは、選択された加入者に新しいバージョンを電子的にダウンロードすること、加入者のセットトップボックスを特別に予めプログラミングされたボックスに交換すること、または他の任意の適切な技術によって展開され得る。

ステップ２９２で、番組ガイドは、対象が絞られた広告がユーザのテレビに実際に表示され、番組ガイドで対象が絞られたアクションが実際にとられる、情報を収集する。ステップ２９２の間行われるモニタリングは、何日間か、または他の任意の適切な時間行われ得る。ステップ２９４で、番組ガイドのモニタリングバージョンの各々は、その情報を中央設備（例えば、図１のテレビ配信設備３８のような設備、図１のメイン設備３２、または何らかの他のこのような適切な設備）に送信する。データは、中央設備に、双方向ケーブルリンクのリターンパスを介して、モデムリンクを介して、または他の任意の適切な通信パスを介して送信され得る。データは、定期的に、または中央設備がデータの転送を要求する場合に、送信され得る。中央設備で収集されたデータは、ステップ２９６で分析される。データ分析は、例えば、ある特定の対象が絞られた広告が、他の広告より頻繁に視聴されていること、およびある特定の対象が絞られた番組ガイドアクションが、他のアクションより頻繁にとられることを明らかにし得る。分析は、また、ユーザの興味についての情報も明らかにし得る。

Claims (12)

  1. インタラクティブなテレビ番組ガイドが実装されているシステムであって、該インタラクティブなテレビ番組ガイドは、インタラクティブな番組対応情報を表示するように用いられ、該システムは、
    ディスプレイ上に、所与のテレビチャンネルに対する映像を表示する手段と、
    該所与のテレビチャンネルに対する映像の一部の上に、該インタラクティブな番組対応情報と少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告とを含むオーバーレイを表示する手段と、
    該インタラクティブな番組対応情報に関連する機能をアクティベートするために該インタラクティブな番組対応情報をユーザが選択することを可能にする手段と、
    該インタラクティブな広告に関連する機能をアクティベートするために該少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を該ユーザが選択することを可能にする手段と
    を含み、
    該所与のテレビチャンネルに対する映像を表示する手段、および該所与のテレビチャンネルに対する映像の一部の上にオーバーレイを表示する手段は、単一の手段から構成される、システム。
  2. 前記少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段は、映像を含む少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段を含む、請求項１に記載のシステム。
  3. 前記少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段は、グラフィックスを含む少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段を含む、請求項１に記載のシステム。
  4. 前記少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段は、テキストを含む少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段を含む、請求項１に記載のシステム。
  5. 前記少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段は、少なくとも１つの対象を絞ったインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段を含む、請求項１に記載のシステム。
  6. 前記少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段は、少なくとも１つのインタラクティブなバナー広告を表示する手段を含む、請求項１に記載のシステム。
  7. 前記少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段は、少なくとも１つのアクティブオブジェクトを有する少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告を表示する手段を含む、請求項１に記載のシステム。
  8. 前記少なくとも１つのインタラクティブな広告が選択されると、追加情報を前記ユーザに提供する手段をさらに含む、請求項１に記載のシステム。
  9. 前記追加情報を提供する手段は、前記ユーザがリマインダを設定することを可能にする手段を含む、請求項８に記載のシステム。
