Description
図1に示すように、従来の発光表示装置の画素10は、走査線Sn(nは自然数)に走査信号が印加される時、データ線Dmに供給されるデータ信号に対応する光を発生する。
図3に示すように、本発明の実施形態による発光表示装置は、走査線S1ないしSn(nは自然数)及びデータ線D1ないしDmの交差領域に形成された画素140を含む画像表示部130と、走査線S1ないしSnを駆動するための走査駆動部110と、データ線D1ないしDmを駆動するためのデータ駆動部120と、走査駆動部110及びデータ駆動部120を制御するためのタイミング制御部150を具備する。
図4では、第mデータ線Dm、第n-1走査線Sn-1及び第n走査線Snに接続された画素140を示す。
図5(a)に示すように、1フレーム1Fは、第1期間及び第2期間に分けられて駆動される。ここで、第1期間は、画素140各々に含まれる第1トランジスターM1の閾値電圧を補償するための期間であり、第2期間は、画素140各々にデータ信号を供給して望みの輝度の映像を表示するための期間である。

Claims (24)
- 各フレームの第1期間中にすべての走査線に第1走査信号を供給し、第2期間中に前記走査線に第2走査信号を順次供給するための走査駆動部と、
前記第1期間中に所定の電圧をデータ線に供給し、前記第2期間中にデータ信号を前記データ線に供給するためのデータ駆動部と、
前記走査線及びデータ線に接続されるように設置される画素を含む画像表示部と
を具備し、
前記画素各々が、
発光素子であるOLEDと、
前記データ線と第n走査線に接続される第2トランジスターと、
前記第2トランジスターと第1電源の間に直列接続される第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタと、
前記第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタの間の第1ノードと前記第1電源の間に接続され、前記第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタに充電された電圧に対応する電流を前記発光素子に供給するための第1トランジスターと、
前記第1ノードと前記第1トランジスターの第2端子の間に接続され、第n-1走査線によって制御される第3トランジスターと、
前記第3トランジスターと前記第1トランジスターの第2端子の間に接続され、前記第n走査線によって制御される第4トランジスターと
を具備すると共に、
前記走査駆動部は、奇数フレーム期間中に前記第2走査信号を第1走査順序で供給し、偶数フレーム期間中に前記第2走査信号を前記第1走査順序と逆方向である第2走査順序で供給し、
前記第1走査信号の幅は、前記第1トランジスターの閾値電圧を補償するのに十分な電圧が前記第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタに充電されるように、前記第2走査信号の幅より広く設定される
ことを特徴とする発光表示装置。 - 前記走査駆動部は、前記奇数フレーム期間中に一番目の走査線から最後の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給し、前記偶数フレーム期間中に最後の走査線から一番目の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記走査駆動部は、前記偶数フレーム期間中に一番目の走査線から最後の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給し、前記奇数フレーム期間中に最後の走査線から一番目の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記走査駆動部は、前記第1期間中に前記走査線と並んで形成された発光制御線に同時に第1発光制御信号を供給し、前記第2期間中に前記発光制御線に第2発光制御信号を順次供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記走査駆動部は、前記奇数フレーム期間中に前記第1走査順序で前記第2発光制御信号を供給し、前記偶数フレーム期間中前記第2走査順序で前記第2発光制御信号を供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第1発光制御信号の幅は、前記第2発光制御信号の幅より広く設定される
ことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記走査駆動部は、前記第1期間中前記走査線と並んで形成された発光制御線に共通的に発光制御信号を供給し、それ以外の期間中には前記発光制御信号を供給しない
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記所定の電圧は、前記データ信号の電圧より高い電圧に設定される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記所定の電圧は、前記第1電源と同じ電圧値に設定される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第1走査信号が供給される時、前記第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタには、前記第1トランジスターの閾値電圧に対応する電圧が充電される
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第1トランジスターと前記発光素子の間に接続され、第n発光制御線に接続される第5トランジスターをさらに具備する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 前記第1期間及び第2期間は、各フレームにおいて互いに重畳されない
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光表示装置。 - 走査線に走査信号を供給するための走査駆動部と、データ線にデータ信号を供給するためのデータ駆動部と、前記走査線及びデータ線に接続されるように設置される画素を含む画像表示部とを具備し、前記画素各々が、発光素子であるOLEDと、前記データ線と第n走査線に接続される第2トランジスターと、前記第2トランジスターと第1電源の間に直列接続される第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタと、前記第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタの間の第1ノードと前記第1電源の間に接続され、前記第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタに充電された電圧に対応する電流を前記発光素子に供給するための第1トランジスターと、前記第1ノードと前記第1トランジスターの第2端子の間に接続され、第n-1走査線によって制御される第3トランジスターと、前記第3トランジスターと前記第1トランジスターの第2端子の間に接続され、前記第n走査線によって制御される第4トランジスターとを具備する発光表示装置の駆動方法であって、
フレーム各々の第1期間中にすべての走査線に第1走査信号を印加する段階と、
前記第1期間中にすべてのデータ線に所定の電圧を印加する段階と、
奇数フレーム期間における第2期間中に第1走査順序で第2走査信号を印加する段階と、
偶数フレーム期間における前記第2期間中に第1走査順序と逆方向である第2走査順序で前記第2走査信号を印加する段階とを含み、
前記第1走査信号の幅は、前記第1トランジスターの閾値電圧を補償するのに十分な電圧が前記第1キャパシタ及び第2キャパシタに充電されるように、前記第2走査信号の幅より広く設定される
ことを特徴とする発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記奇数フレーム期間中において一番目の走査線から最後の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給し、前記偶数フレーム期間中において最後の走査線から一番目の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記偶数フレーム期間中において一番目の走査線から最後の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給し、前記奇数フレーム期間中において最後の走査線から一番目の走査線に前記第2走査信号を順次供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1期間中において、前記画素各々に含まれ前記第1電源から前記発光素子に供給される電流を制御する前記第1トランジスターの閾値電圧に対応される電圧が、前記画素各々に含まれた少なくとも一つのキャパシタに充電される
ことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第2走査信号が供給される時、前記データ線にデータ信号が供給される段階をさらに含む
ことを特徴とする請求項16に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記所定の電圧は前記データ信号の電圧より高い電圧値に設定される
ことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記所定の電圧は、前記第1電源と同一電圧値に設定される
ことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1期間中すべての発光制御線に第1発光制御信号を印加する段階と、
前記第2期間中前記発光制御線に第2発光制御信号を順次印加する段階と
をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記奇数フレーム期間に前記第2発光制御信号は、前記第1走査順序で供給され、前記偶数フレーム期間に前記第2発光制御信号は、第2走査順序で供給される
ことを特徴とする請求項20に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1発光制御信号の幅は、前記第2発光制御信号の幅より広く設定される
ことを特徴とする請求項20に記載の発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記第1期間中にすべての発光制御線に同時に発光制御信号を印加し、それ以外の期間中には、前記発光制御信号を印加しない
