Description
関西ペイント株式会社技術研究所著、「やさしい技術解説シリーズ(3)水性塗料の技術動向」、第1版、日本塗料新聞社、1994年4月1日、p.52−56
滴下漏斗、温度計、窒素導入管、還流冷却器および撹拌機を備えたセパラブルフラスコにイオン交換水34.5部、ペレックスSS−H(花王社製アルキルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム)0.3部を仕込み、窒素雰囲気のもとで80℃に昇温した。2−エチルへキシルアクリレート81部、メチルメタクリレート16部、エチレングリコールジメタクリレート4部、ジアセトンアクリルアミド1部およびメタクリル酸2部からなる、Tgが−50℃、酸価が13であるモノマー混合液に、ドデシルメルカプタン0.6部を加えた後、これを、ペレックスSS−H1.2部をイオン交換水50部に溶解させた乳化剤水溶液中に加え、ミキサーを用いて乳化させてプレエマルジョンを調製した。このようにして得られたプレエマルションと過硫酸アンモニウム0.3部をイオン交換水13部に溶解させた開始剤水溶液を別個の滴下漏斗から同時に滴下した。前者は120分間、後者は150分間にわたって均等に滴下を開始した。滴下終了後、同温度でさらに120分間反応を継続した。冷却後、用いたメタクリル酸の10モル%に相当するアンモニア水で中和した。中和物を200メッシュの金網で濾過し、固形分50%のエマルション樹脂A−1を得た。
表1の配合に基づいて、各々のガラス転移温度、酸価であるモノマー混合液を得た後、製造例1と同様にして、エマルション樹脂A−2〜A−5を得た。いずれも固形分50%であった。
滴下漏斗、温度計、窒素導入管、還流冷却器および撹拌機を備えたセパラブルフラスコにイオン交換水34.5部、ペレックスSS−H(花王社製アルキルジフェニルエーテルジスルホン酸ナトリウム)0.3部を仕込み、窒素雰囲気のもとで80℃に昇温した。スチレン30部、2−エチルへキシルアクリレート39部、メチルメタクリレート28部、ジアセトンアクリルアミド1部およびメタクリル酸2部からなるモノマー混合液に、ペレックスSS−H1.2部をイオン交換水50部に溶解させた乳化剤水溶液中に加え、ミキサーを用いて乳化させてプレエマルジョンを調製した。このようにして得られたプレエマルションと過硫酸アンモニウム0.3部をイオン交換水13部に溶解させた開始剤水溶液を別個の滴下漏斗から同時に滴下した。前者は120分間、後者は150分間にわたって均等に滴下を開始した。滴下終了後、同温度でさらに120分間反応を継続した。冷却後、用いたメタクリル酸の10モル%に相当するアンモニア水で中和した。中和物を200メッシュの金網で濾過し、固形分50%のエマルション樹脂6を得た。
表2の配合に基づいて、モノマー混合液を得たこと以外、製造例6と同様にして、エマルション樹脂7および8を得た。いずれも固形分50%であった。
タイペークCR−50(石原産業社製二酸化チタン)200部、SP−600N(ダイセル社製ヒドロキシセルロース系増粘剤)1部、SNデフォーマ1070(サンノプコ社製消泡剤)1部、ディスパービック190(ビックケミー社製顔料分散剤)15部およびイオン交換水53部を混合した後、ガラスビーズを用いディスパーにて分散し、顔料分散ペーストを得た。
製造例3で得られたエマルション樹脂A−3を232部、製造例B−2で得られたエマルション樹脂7を58部、製造例9で得られた顔料分散ペースト150部、SNデフォーマ1070を5部、アジピン酸ジヒドラジド5%水溶液14部、アデカノールUH−420(旭電化社製ウレタン系増粘剤)を6部およびイオン交換水35部を混合して、顔料体積濃度17%のエマルション塗料組成物を得た。この塗料に含まれる沸点が250℃以下の有機化合物(VOC)の含有量をFID検出器付きHP−5890(ヒューレットパッカード社製ガスクロマトグラフィ)にて分析し、検出された揮発成分のピーク面積の合計を予め作成したトルエン標準サンプルの検量線式に代入して求めたところ、0.1質量%であった。
さらにダワノールDPnB(ダウケミカル社製ジプロピレングリコールn−ブチルエーテル、沸点229℃)をエマルション樹脂固形分に対して3質量%加えたこと以外、実施例1と同様にして、顔料体積濃度17%のエマルション塗料組成物を得た。この塗料に含まれるVOCの含有量を実施例1と同様にしてガスクロマトグラフィにて分析した結果、3.0質量%であった。
エマルション樹脂A−3およびB−2の代わりに、表3の配合に基づいたこと以外、実施例1と同様にして、顔料体積濃度17%のエマルション塗料組成物を得た。なお、比較例1では、造膜助剤としてダワノールDPnB(ダウケミカル社製ジプロピレングリコールn−ブチルエーテル、沸点229℃)をエマルション樹脂固形分に対して3質量%となるよう加えた。これらの塗料に含まれるVOCの含有量を実施例1と同様にしてガスクロマトグラフィにて分析した。結果を表3に記載した。さらに、同様にして、タック性評価板、耐候性評価板および低温造膜性評価板を得た。
作成した各評価板を以下の通り試験し、評価した。なお、評価結果は表3に示した。
(1)単膜および工程後のタック性
タック性評価板および工程後タック性評価板(1)〜(3)を作成した直後に7cm角のウエスを置き、さらにその上に600gのおもりを載せて40℃で24時間放置した後、おもりを取り外して、ウエスを剥がした。ウエスを剥がす時の引き剥がし感をタック性として、以下の評価基準に従って評価した。
◎:抵抗を全く感じず、引き剥がせる
○:やや抵抗を感じるが引き剥がせる
△:抵抗を感じるが引き剥がせる
×:抵抗を感じ、引き剥がすことが困難である
作成した低温造膜性評価板の塗膜表面状態を目視にて、以下の評価基準に従って評価した。
○:塗膜の割れが全くない
△:塗膜の割れが少しある
×:塗膜の割れが多くある
Claims (5)
- モノマー混合液(a)に含まれる各モノマーのガラス転移温度(Tg)から求められる前記モノマー混合液(a)の計算Tgが−40〜−5℃であるモノマー混合液(a)を乳化重合して得られる、エマルション樹脂(A)と、モノマー混合液(b)に含まれる各モノマーのガラス転移温度(Tg)から求められる前記モノマー混合液(b)の計算Tgが20〜100℃であるモノマー混合液(b)を乳化重合して得られる、エマルション樹脂(B)とを含んでいて、前記エマルション樹脂(A)/前記エマルション樹脂(B)の固形分質量比が6/4〜9/1であり、VOC(揮発性有機化合物)の含有量が1質量%以下である、エマルション塗料組成物であって、
前記モノマー混合液(a)が、1分子中に2つ以上の不飽和基を有する架橋性モノマーと連鎖移動剤とこれら以外のモノマーとを含んでいて、前記架橋性モノマーと連鎖移動剤との質量比が2/1〜30/1であり、前記モノマー混合液(a)中に占める前記架橋性モノマーの含有率が前記モノマー混合液(a)の1〜6質量%であり、前記モノマー混合液(a)中に占める前記連鎖移動剤の含有率が前記モノマー混合液(a)の0.1〜3質量%である、
建築物の内外装に用いられるエマルション塗料組成物。 - 前記エマルション樹脂(B)が非架橋である、請求項1に記載のエマルション塗料組成物。
- 顔料体積濃度が10〜50%である、請求項1または2に記載のエマルション塗料組成物。
- 基材に対して、請求項1から3までのいずれかに記載のエマルション塗料組成物を塗布する、塗膜形成方法。
- 前記基材は、表面にシーラー、下塗り、または中塗りが施されている、請求項4に記載の塗膜形成方法。
