ニッケルメッキ鋼鈑をプレス加工した電池缶11、二酸化マンガンを正極作用物質とする正極合剤16、強アルカリ溶液からなる電解液、亜鉛を負極作用物質とする負極合剤18を用いて、図1に示した本発明構成のアルカリ電池10を作製した。この場合、電池缶11の内面にはチタン入り導電塗料による導電層(塗膜)112を形成した。導電塗料は、導電剤として黒鉛(またはカーボンブラック)、バインダーとしてポリビニルブチラール、溶媒としてメチルエチルケトン等を用いて調製した。この導電塗料に微粒状の金属チタンを1〜2重量%添加して、チタン入り導電塗料を調製した。
ニッケルメッキ鋼鈑をプレス加工した電池缶11、二酸化マンガンを正極作用物質とする正極合剤16、強アルカリ溶液からなる電解液、亜鉛を負極作用物質とする負極合剤18を用いて、図3に示した従来構成のアルカリ電池10'を作製した。この比較例の電池は、上記チタン入り導電層112が無いこと以外は、実施例と同様の構成である。

Claims (5)
- 鉄を主材とする金属製であって正極集電部および正極端子を兼ねる有底筒状の電池缶内に、正極作用物質として金属酸化物を用いた正極合剤と、アルカリ電解液が含浸されるセパレータと、負極作用物質として亜鉛を用いた負極合剤とが順次装填されて発電要素を形成するとともに、上記電池缶の開口部が負極端子とガスケットを用いて封口された密閉構造のアルカリ電池において、上記電池缶内面の少なくとも正極合剤と電池内空間部の境界を含む表面部分にチタンを含む導電層を備えたことを特徴とするアルカリ電池。
- 請求項1において、上記チタンを含む導電層は、上記電池缶の内面に非金属性導電剤を用いた導電塗膜を形成するとともに、この導電塗膜中に上記金属チタンを分散含有してなることを特徴とするアルカリ電池。
- 請求項1または2において、上記電池缶がニッケルメッキ鋼鈑のプレス加工品で形成されるとともに、その電池缶の内面に上記金属チタンを含む導電層が形成されていることを特徴とするアルカリ電池。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれかにおいて、上記正極作用物質としての金属酸化物が二酸化マンガンであることを特徴とするアルカリ電池。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれかにおいて、上記正極作用物質としての金属酸化物がオキシ水酸化ニッケルであることを特徴とするアルカリ電池。
