オハイオ州バタビアのフェロマチックミラクロン(Ferromatik Milacron)により製造された45ミリメーターバレル直径を有する射出成形装置を、本発明に基づくバレル及びスクリューを装着させた。単一のスターブフィーダーを下流側供給スロートへ装着した。多様な金型を使用して、12グラムから最大で250グラムの重量を有する多層部品を製造した。これらの部品において、内側コア層は全体的な部品重量の10%と70%の間で変化した。熱可塑性物質を成功裡に使用し、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、アクリロニトリルブタジエンスチレン、ナイロン、ポリフェニレン酸化物、アセタール、ポリビニルクロライド、ポリカーボネートを包含していた。
例1における装置に関して、上流側供給スロートへ第二スターブフィーダーを装着した。この第二フィーダーでもって、高々重量で95%のコア百分率を有する部品を製造し、コア物質はポリプロピレンであり且つスキン物質は熱可塑性エラストマーであった。
例1における装置に図11に示した前端コンポーネントを装着した。共通のキャビティの異なる点に供給を行う2個の独立したランナーを具備する金型を使用して、サンドイッチ構造ではなく全体にわたり2つの異なる物質で構成された領域を具備する部品を製造した。

Claims (19)

第一溶融物を前記下流側端部へ向かって運ぶために前記第一物質供給源からの物質を可塑化させるためにその外側部分の第一長さに沿って延在している第一可塑化ゾーン及び第2溶融物を前記下流側端部へ向かって運ぶために第二物質供給源からの物質を可塑化させるために該外側部分の第二長さに沿って延在している第二可塑化ゾーンを少なくとも具備しており前記第一長さ及び第二長さは重畳しない部分であるスクリュー、
前記第一溶融物を前記第二溶融物から分離するために該第一長さと該第二長さとの間において少なくとも該スクリューの該外側部分に沿って延在している分離手段、
各々が該夫々の可塑化ゾーンから別々に運ばれてくる該第一溶融物及び該第二溶融物を受け取る蓄積空間、

前記スクリューを軸方向に移動させて(1)第一チャンネルを介して前記第一蓄積空間内へ前記溶融した第一物質を(2)第二チャンネルを介して前記第二蓄積空間内の前記溶融した第二物質を、複合ショットとして金型内へ注入する、
上記各ステップを有している方法。 - 請求項17において、前記スクリューを軸方向に移動させて注入させるステップが、更に、前記溶融した第一物質及び前記溶融した第二物質を同時的に注入させることを包含している方法。
- 請求項17において、前記スクリューを軸方向に移動させて注入させるステップが、更に、前記溶融した第一物質及び前記溶融した第二物質を逐次的に注入させることを包含している方法。
