Claims (6)
- 各気筒の燃焼サイクルが所定の位相差をもつように設定された多気筒の火花点火式エンジンの制御装置であって、
各気筒にそれぞれ新気を導入させて各気筒を独立状態で燃焼させる通常運転モードの制御と、エンジンの部分負荷領域で排気行程と吸気行程とが重なる一対の気筒間において排気行程にある先行気筒から排出される既燃ガスがそのまま吸気行程にある後続気筒に気筒間ガス通路を介して導入され、この後続気筒から排出されるガスが排気通路に導かれるような2気筒接続状態としつつ、先行気筒の空燃比を理論空燃比よりも大きいリーン空燃比として燃焼を行わせ、この先行気筒から後続気筒にリーン空燃比の既燃ガスを導入させて新たに供給された燃料とともに後続気筒で燃焼させる特殊運転モードの制御とを運転状態に応じて切換実行するように制御し、
上記通常運転モードと特殊運転モードとの相互間で運転モードを切り換える際に、ガス流通経路を2気筒接続状態として、先行気筒での燃焼を停止させるとともに後続気筒で圧縮自己着火による燃焼を行わせる過渡運転モードを介在させることを特徴とする火花点火式エンジンの制御装置。 - 上記後続気筒の圧縮自己着火を促進する着火アシスト手段を備え、この着火アシスト手段により過渡運転モードにおける圧縮自己着火を促進することを特徴とする請求項1記載の火花点火式エンジンの制御装置。
- 上記特殊運転モードとされる運転領域の高負荷側に上記通常運転モードとされる運転領域が設定されている場合に、この通常運転モードとされる運転領域と上記特殊運転モードとされる運転領域との間の移行に際し、上記過渡運転モードを介在させることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2記載の火花点火式エンジンの制御装置。
- 上記特殊運転モードとされる運転領域の低負荷側及び高負荷側に上記通常運転モードとされる運転領域が設定されている場合に、この通常運転モードとされる運転領域のうち高負荷側の運転領域と上記特殊運転モードとされる運転領域との間の移行に際し、上記過渡運転モードを介在させることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2記載の火花点火式エンジンの制御装置。
- 上記特殊運転モードとされる運転領域の低負荷側に上記通常運転モードとされる運転領域が設定されている場合に、この特殊運転モードとされる運転領域と低負荷側の通常運転モードとされる運転領域との相互間の移行に際して、この特殊運転モードとされる運転領域から低負荷側の通常運転モードとされる運転領域への移行に際してのみ上記過渡運転モードを介在させることを特徴とする請求項2記載の火花点火式エンジンの制御装置。
- 上記特殊運転モードとされる運転領域から上記通常運転モードとされる運転領域への移行及び上記通常運転モードとされる運転領域から上記特殊運転モードとされる運転領域への移行の双方向の移行に際して、上記過渡運転モードを介在させることを特徴とする請求項3記載の火花点火式エンジンの制御装置。
