Claims (6)
- a)ゲート電極、ソース電極及びドレーン電極を有する薄膜トランジスタ、前記ゲート電極に連結されたゲートライン及びソース電極に連結されたデータライン、前記ドレーン電極に形成された画素電極が形成されたTFT基板と、b)前記TFT基板と対向するように設置され共通電極が形成されたカラーフィルター基板、c)前記TFT基板及びカラーフィルター基板の間に介在される液晶を含む液晶表示パネル及びd)前記ゲートラインにゲート駆動信号、前記データラインにデータ駆動信号を印加する駆動印刷回路基板を含む液晶表示パネルアセンブリーであって、
i)前記ゲートラインのうち、あるゲートラインにゲート駆動信号が印加されるかを検知してインバータ制御信号を発生させるシグナル同調部、ii)前記インバータ制御信号の印加を受けてランプ駆動信号を発生させるインバータ、及びiii)前記インバータの前記ランプ駆動信号に対応して点灯/消灯されるように、前記液晶表示パネルの下部に少なくとも2つ以上が並列方式で配列されたランプで構成されたバックライトアセンブリーと、を含む液晶表示装置。 - 前記シグナル同調部で発生された前記インバータ制御信号は、前記ゲートラインに前記ゲート駆動信号が印加された後、液晶が印加された電界の方向に配列される液晶配列時間の間にのみ前記ランプに電源が供給されないように前記ランプをオフ(off)させるための制御信号であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶配列時間は、前記液晶が配列を開始してから前記液晶の配列が終了されるまでかかる時間であることを特徴とする請求項2記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶表示パネルに形成された複数個のゲートラインは、前記ランプの位置に対応して複数個のグループに分けられ、それぞれの前記グループに割り当てられたゲートラインが順次ターンオンされ、最後のゲートラインがターンオンされた後、液晶が配列される時間の間、前記グループに属するランプは前記インバータ制御信号により消灯されることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶配列時間以後、それぞれのグループの前記ランプはワンフレームの間にずっと点灯されることを特徴とする請求項4記載の液晶表示装置。
- i)複数個の領域に分けられた液晶表示パネルの第1の領域に含まれた液晶に電界を印加して液晶を配列させる段階と、
ii)前記第1領域に位置した液晶が配列されることに必要な液晶配列時間の間に前記液晶に供給される光を制限する段階と、
iii)前記第1領域に位置した前記液晶が配列されることに必要な液晶配列時間以後に前記液晶に光の供給を行う段階と、
iv)前記液晶表示パネルの残りの領域に対して、前記ii)、前記iii)の段階を反復して行う段階と、を含むことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の駆動方法。
