Claims (6)
- 外部から入力される映像データをN個のサブフィールドに分けて再生し,各サブフィールドに含まれるリセット期間,アドレス期間,及び維持期間それぞれにおいて駆動されるプラズマディスプレイパネルであって:
複数のアドレス電極,前記アドレス電極と互いに対を成して配列された複数の走査電極,及び維持電極を含むプラズマパネルと;
前記映像信号の入力を受けて各サブフィールドに対応するサブフィールドデータ及びサステインパルス情報を生成する制御部と;
前記サブフィールドデータに対応する電圧を前記アドレス電極に印加するアドレスデータ駆動部と;
前記サステインパルス情報に基づいて前記維持電極に電圧を印加する維持電極駆動部と;
前記サステインパルス情報に基づいて前記走査電極に電圧を印加する走査電極駆動部と;
を含み、
前記走査電極駆動部は、前記リセット期間において、前記走査電極の電圧を一定の電圧だけ変更した後、前記走査電極をフローティング時間の間にフローティング状態とする動作を繰り返し、
前記制御部は,直前サブフィールドデータに応じてオンしたセルの数が多いほど前記フローティング時間を短くすることを特徴とする,プラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 前記制御部は:
前記映像信号の負荷率に応じて電力を制御するように電力制御データを出力する自動電力制御部と;
N個のサブフィールドを生成し,各サブフィールド別にサステインパルス情報を出力するサブフィールド生成部と;
前記映像信号をサブフィールドデータとして出力するサブフィールドデータ生成部と;
前記サブフィールドデータに応じてオンしたセルの個数と前記走査電極をフローティング状態とするフローティング時間との関係を記憶するメモリと;
前記メモリを参照して,直前サブフィールドにおいてオンしたセルの個数に対応するフローティング時間だけ前記走査電極がフローティング状態となるようにフローティング制御信号を前記走査電極駆動部に出力するフローティング制御部と;
を含むことを特徴とする,請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 前記制御部は,
前記リセット期間の上昇ランプ期間において,前記維持電極を第1維持電圧に維持した状態で,前記走査電極に上昇ランプ波形を印加し,
前記リセット期間の下降ランプ期間において,前記維持電極を第2維持電圧に維持した状態で,前記走査電極の電圧を前記一定の電圧だけ減少させることと,前記走査電極をフローティング状態とすることを繰り返すことを特徴とする,請求項1または2に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 入力される映像信号に基づいて複数個のサブフィールドデータを生成し,各サブフィールドデータとサステイン情報に応じて,リセット期間,アドレス期間,及び維持期間に分けて駆動されるプラズマディスプレイパネルであって:
第1電極,第2電極,及び第3電極と;
前記第1電極,前記第2電極,及び前記第3電極によって定義される第1空間と;
各リセット期間に前記第1電極と前記第2電極に駆動信号を送る駆動回路と;
を含み,
前記駆動回路は,前記リセット期間において,前記第1電極の電圧を一定の電圧だけ変更した後、フローティング期間の間に前記第1電極をフローティング状態とする動作を繰り返し,
前記フローティング時間は,直前サブフィールドデータに応じてオンしたセルの数が増加するほど減少することを特徴とする,プラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 第1電極は走査電極であり,前記第2電極は維持電極であり,第3電極はアドレス電極であり,
前記駆動回路は,
前記リセット期間の上昇ランプ期間において,前記維持電極を第1維持電圧に維持した状態で,前記走査電極に上昇ランプ波形を印加し,
前記リセット期間の下降ランプ期間において,前記維持電極を第2維持電圧に維持した状態で,前記走査電極の電圧を前記一定の電圧だけ減少させることと,前記走査電極をフローティング状態とすることを繰り返すことを特徴とする,請求項4に記載のプラズマディスプレイパネル。 - 第1電極,第2電極,及び第3電極によって定義される第1空間を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルを駆動する方法であって:
入力される映像信号からN個のサブフィールドそれぞれに対応するN個のサブフィールドデータを生成し,各サブフィールドをリセット期間,アドレス期間,及び維持期間に分ける第1段階と;
前記リセット期間において,前記第1電極の電圧を一定の電圧だけ変更した後、フローティング時間の間に前記第1電極をフローティング状態とする動作を繰り返す第2段階と;
を含み,
前記フローティング時間は,直前サブフィールドデータに応じてオンしたセルの数が増加するほど減少することを特徴とする,プラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
