これは、電気外科用の高性能な認識システムと、器具識別プロセスとして分散面と赤外線反射結合部とを使用して非接触式の符号化された近接検出を行う認定接続部とに関する。より具体的には、本システムは、高周波エネルギー源と器具との間の正しい接続を識別したり、認定したり、又は証明したりするものである。

【従来の技術】
電気外科手術では、無線周波数エネルギーを器具によって手術組織部位に制御された状態で当てる必要がある。手術中に成功裏の医療結果を達成するために、高周波の又は無線周波数のエネルギー源としての電気外科用発生器は、特定の手術に適した器具と正しく合わされなければならない。取り付けられた器具からは色々なレベルの無線周波数エネルギーの供給を要求してくると言った手術の電気外科手続きの多様性のために、電気外科用発生器と器具との間にミスマッチを伴なうと言った問題が生じる。外科医が使用する各種の器具と電気外科用発生器とを備えた手術室では、潜在的にミスマッチの問題を起こす倶れがあり、それで患者のリスクを高めることになる。

高性能認識システムの好適な実施例は、高性能認定接続部10と、2極ジャックと、高性能検知プロセッサーと、器具11を確認する証明表示インジケータと、医療器具とを有している。接続ケーブルによって取り付けられた嵌合プラグと手術器具11とが存在している。医療器具プラグは、第N番目のビット符号の同一性を確立することができよう。高性能コネクターの2極ジャックは、好ましくは、電気外科用発生器の正面パネル上に配置されている。2極ジャックは、好ましくは、取り付けられた医療器具にRfエネルギを出力するのに通す電力レセプタクルとなっている。Rfエネルギー出力は、医療器具の高性能認識による同一性が正しく確立された後にのみ行われる。コネクターの物理的構成は、好ましくは、医療器具の一方向取り付けができるようにするために非対称になっている。この条件付き嵌合は、自動的に医療器具プラグの正しい向き決めを容易にし、それで赤外線近接検出器が医療器具の同一性を適確に解読することができるように成る。2極ジャックは、最も好ましくは、黒色ポリマーの機械加工された部片から製造されている。これによって、最大信号を回復するように赤外線検知の要素のために覆われた暗い適応した光環境を形成している。黒色ポリマーは、もし幾分でもあれば、手術室内の望ましくない赤外線光を吸収するものであり、また反射や伝送を防止すると共に高性能検知要素による拾い上げを防止するように可視光に対して不透明となっている。

2極ジャックに存在している矩形状切欠きは、赤外線要素が高性能検知プロセッサー上に搭載されるようにし、嵌合された医療器具プラグの検査のための覗き孔窓となる。電気外科利用のために互換性を識別し証明することが結果的に行われる。2極ジャックの頂面上に搭載された高性能検知プロセッサーは、分散面の赤外線反射結合部を取り付けられた医療器具のプラグに対して利用して符号化による近接検出の機能を実行する。取り付けられた器具11に独特な第N番目の信号符号が回収される。医療器具の同一性を引き出すと、情報はハードウェアとソフトウェアとで処理され、同一性が正しいかどうかを識別する。識別は、取り付けられた器具11に電気外科用発生器からRfエネルギを供給すべきかどうかを決定するために行われる。有効確認と見做すと、Rfエネルギが手術利用のために組織部位に供給される。高性能な検知でハードウェアの符号化処理を行う。高性能プロセッサーは、発生器のRfエネルギーの活性化を局部的に制御するか、又は比較決定が器具11の同一性に対して行うマイクロコントローラに符号情報を伝送するかのいずれかを行う。

表示インジケータは、正しい医療器具11が電気外科用発生器に取り付けられていると言う正のビット符号の確認の目視照明を与える。その表示は、電気外科用発生器の正面パネル上に配置されている。表示照明は、取り付けられた医療器具の同一性が確認されている間続く。医療器具プラグを抜くと、表示インジケータを不作動にし、発生器出力からのRfエネルギーの更なるキー制御による作動を防止する。

医療器具は、接続ケーブルと適合嵌合する接続部付き器具となっている。プラグは、好ましくは、Rfエネルギーを転送するために発生器上に2極ジャックレセプタクルと嵌合するピン接点を有し過大モールド成形された組立体となっている。孔とプラグは、それらを通ったり又は反射される赤外線光が医療器具に独特な第N番目ビットの同一性符号を確立できるようにしている。プラグを液体に曝しても、器具11の同一性符号を通常は変えるべきでない。この孔のマトリックスに流入する流体は、孔の好適な実施例の垂直方向の向きによって重力で通って行くことに成る。プラグの挿入によって占拠される領域においてプラグ面上に存在している流体が、赤外線センサーによる近接検出によって、同一性符号の回収プロセスを変えるべきではない。焦点が合わせられていない赤外線光学センサーは、不規則な表面を有した物体の存在に応答する。表面の粒状や不連続性による光エネルギーの回拆は、赤外線センサーによって回収される信号の損失に意味ありげに一因となるべきでない。赤外線センサーの近接は、隣接したビットセル部位によって符号情報の回復を回避するものではない。回拆光エネルギーの急速な低下は、独特な同一性符号の崩壊を防止する。電気外科用高性能認識システムの精度と完全性は保存される。

分散面の反射光結合部によって非接触式の符号による近接同一性検出を行うようにしている好適な実施例に加えて、ここで明確に述べられている特許請求の範囲の技術的範囲は、光結合部に対する向上策も、別の光変更子と光導線による符号化方法も含むものである。これは、例えば、独特な符号化アルゴリズムを発生するために光変調や、マトリックス符号化方法を使用した代替の光変調技法を含んでいる。光導線としてファイバー光学部材を使用することで、伝送された情報が赤外線波長の分散反射光に独特の光識別機能を与えるように、特定のセル構造の向き決めに使用される多数の冗長ファイバーによって符号同一性検出方法を向上できよう。更に 符号による近接検出手段を向上するために戦術的に発信器や受信器や光変更子を再配置する代替構成も、最適の光結合部に対する特許請求の範囲に入っている。

Claims (18)
- 発生器の第2の接続部に接続される第1の接続部を有する外科用器具であり、前記発生器は、エネルギーを外科用器具に与えるように構成されており、前記発生器は、第1および第2の接続部を介して通信されて変更された光に応答する関連する識別回路を有し、前記第2の接続部は、光供給部および光受信器を含み、光供給部は、焦点合わせされていない光ビームを第1の接続部に送信し、光受信器は、第1の接続部からの変更された焦点合わせされていない光ビームを受信し、前記外科用器具が、
前記第1の接続部に第1の光結合部を含み、第1の光結合部が拡散面の形態の光変更子を含み、前記拡散面は、第2の接続部の光供給部からの焦点合わせされていない光ビームを変更し、前記拡散面は、外科用器具を示す識別符号を有する反応媒体を含み、第1の接続部は、第2の接続部に挿入可能であり、外科用器具を、発生器と関連する識別回路によって、非接触的に識別できることを特徴とする、前記外科用器具。 - 前記光反応媒体が、光エネルギーを変更するためのコーティングを含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の外科用器具。
- 前記光反応媒体が、光エネルギーを変更するための孔のマトリックスを含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の外科用器具。
- 前記光変更子は、第2の接続部の複数の赤外線発信機からの送信されたエネルギーを変化することを特徴とする請求項1記載の外科用器具。
- 前記光変更子は、複数の非接触式の検出器を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の外科用器具。
- 前記第1の接続部が、この第1の接続部の第1光結合部と前記第2の接続部の第2光結合部とを近接状態に位置決めするようにして、前記第2の接続部の雌部分を受け入れるための雄形機械式アタッチメントを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の外科用器具。
- 正しい器具が発信器に取り付けられていることを視覚的に示す表示を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の外科用器具。
- 前記第1の接続部が第2の接続部に接続される時、前記光変更子は、第2の接続部の光供給部および光受信器に近接して位置していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の外科用器具。
- 前記光変更子は、第2の接続部の複数の赤外線発信器から送信されたエネルギーを変化することを特徴とする請求項8記載の外科用器具。
- 前記光変更子は、複数の非接触式の検出器を含むことを特徴とする請求項9記載の外科用器具。
- 前記第1の接続部の識別符号が、外科用器具の型式に対して独特の第N番目ビット符号の識別を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の接続部の識別符号が、外科用器具の型式に対して独特の第N番目ビット符号の識別を有することを特徴とする請求項10記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の接続部がプラグの形状を有しており、第N番目ビット符号同一性が、前記フラグに配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記第1の接続部がプラグの形状を有しており、第N番目ビット符号同一性が、前記フラグに配置されていることを特徴とする請求項12記載のシステム。
- エネルギーの適用を決定するために外科用器具を識別するための方法であり、
器具の形態に独特の所定の符号に対応する拡散面の形態の光変更子を有する第1の接続部を提供し、
第1の接続部を発生器の第2の接続部に挿入し、前記第2の接続部が、焦点合わせされていない光ビームを、拡散面に送信するための複数の発信器を有し、前記第1の接続部が、拡散面および発信器が近接するように、挿入され、
前記第2の接続部の発信器からの光エネルギーを、前記第1の接続部の拡散面に送信し、
前記発生器に接続される外科用器具の形態を決定するために、前記発生器で変更された光を処理し、そして
外科用器具の形態の決定に応答して、発生器の作動および不作動を制御する各ステップからなることを特徴とする、前記方法。 - 光エネルギーを送信する前記段階が、光エネルギーを、拡散面のコーティングに送信することを含むことを特徴とする請求項15記載の方法。
- 光エネルギーを送信する前記段階が、光エネルギーを、孔のマトリックスに送信することを含むことを特徴とする請求項15記載の方法。
- 第1の接続部を挿入する前記段階が、第1の接続部の雄形機械的アタッチメントを、第2の接続部の雌部分に、挿入することを含む請求項15記載の方法。
