Description
本発明の方法においてカムを製造するために用いられる焼結用粉末については、本発明は特に限定することはなく、従来公知のいかなる焼結用粉末を用いることができる。
本発明の方法における仮圧縮成形(S2)は、前記で説明した焼結用粉末10を、仮圧縮成形用金型を用いて、圧縮し、カムの大まかな形状を形成する工程をいう。
本発明の方法における仮焼結(S4)は、前記仮圧縮成形(S2)後のカムを予備的に焼結する工程をいう。
本発明の方法における本圧縮成形(S6)は、前記仮焼結(S2)後のカムを、前記仮圧縮成形用金型とは異なる、本圧縮成形用金型を用いて再度圧縮する工程をいう。
本発明の方法における本焼結(S8)は、前記本圧縮成形(S6)後のカムを、再度焼結する工程をいう。
本発明の方法における熱処理(S10)は、前記本焼結(S8)後のカム(このカムのベース部分の半径方向の肉厚は3.0mm以上となっている。)の焼入焼戻しをする(調質する)ための工程をいう。具体的には、例えば、850〜950℃で加熱した後、50〜120℃で油焼入をし、さらに100〜250℃で加熱後に空冷することを挙げられる。

- 焼結用粉末を仮圧縮成形し、
その後、仮焼結し、
その後、本圧縮成形し、
その後、本焼結し、
その後、熱処理をするカム製造方法であって、
前記仮圧縮成形の終了後から、前記熱処理を行う前の間、カムのベース部分の半径方向の肉厚を3.0mm以上に保持しつつ、
前記仮圧縮成形、および前記本圧縮成形の際には、カムのベース部分については、カムの最終目的形状と同一形状に成形するのに対し、カムのノーズ部分については、カムの最終目的形状とは異なり、最終目的形状よりも潰れた形状に成形する、
ことを特徴とするカム製造方法。
