Description
材からなる燃料タンクに形成された開口の周囲に熱可塑
性合成樹脂材からなる筒状のフィラーチューブ接続口に
形成されたフランジを溶着する合成樹脂成形品の溶着装
置に関する。
料タンクなどの本体部品に対する合成樹脂材で射出成型
されたフィラーチューブの接続口などの小部品の溶着
は、従来、先ず、電熱線が組み込まれた熱板を本体部品
と小部品との間に挟み込み、所定の圧力で小部品を本体
部品側へ押し付けることによって本体部品と小部品との
互いの接合面を溶融して両者の平行度を整え、かつ溶着
可能な程度に両部品の互いの接合面の溶融を促進させ、
次に、熱板を離脱させた上で小部品を本体部品に押し付
けた状態を維持しつつ冷却する、といった工程がとられ
ていた。
小部品共に製造誤差に基因する個体差があり、面精度に
ばらつきが生じるのを避けられないことから、両者の溶
着面の平行度を整えた上で溶着可能な程度に両部品の互
いの接合面の溶融を促進させるのに要する時間は、低精
度のものに合わせて長めに設定せざるを得なかった。そ
のため、両部品の溶融深さの均一化が阻害される結果、
溶着強度にばらつきが生じかねなかった。
解消するべく案出されたものであり、その主な目的は、
サイクルタイムを増大せずに溶着強度を均一化し得るよ
うに改良された合成樹脂成形品の溶着方法並びに溶着装
置を提供することにある。
ために、本発明に於いては、熱可塑性合成樹脂材からな
る燃料タンク(T)に形成された開口(12)の周囲に
熱可塑性合成樹脂材からなる筒状のフィラーチューブ接
続口(F)に形成されたフランジ(13)を溶着する合
成樹脂成形品の溶着装置であって、前記燃料タンクに向
けて前記フランジに押圧力を加えるべく空気圧で作動す
るシリンダ装置(実施の形態中のエアシリンダ7)と、
前記開口の周囲と前記フランジとの間に熱板(11)を
挟んで互いの接合面の平行度が整うように溶融する過程
(図6中の面出し過程)における前記シリンダ装置への
供給圧力を設定する第1減圧弁(2)と、前記熱板を取
り外した上で互いの接合面を溶着する過程(図6中の溶
着過程)における前記シリンダ装置への供給圧力を設定
する第2減圧弁(3)と、前記第1減圧弁並びに前記第
2減圧弁と前記シリンダ装置との間の連通状態を切り換
える3位置の4方電磁弁(4)とを備えることを特徴と
する合成樹脂成形品の溶着装置を提供することとした。
整えるのに要する圧力および接合面同士を溶着するのに
要する圧力が個々に最適設定されるので、面出しに要す
る時間を短縮でき、かつ溶融深さが不均一になることを
回避できる。
明について詳細に説明する。
成図である。エアコンプレッサからの元圧が加わる管路
1は2つに分岐され、それぞれ異なる圧力に設定された
減圧弁2・3を介して3位置の4方電磁弁4の2つの入
力ポート5A・5Bにそれぞれ接続されている。そして
電磁弁4の第1出力ポート6Aは、スプリングリターン
型のエアシリンダ7に接続されている。
力ポート5Aと第1出力ポート6Aとが連通し、かつ第
2入力ポート5Bがブロックされ、中立位置CPで、両
入力ポート5A・5Bが共にブロックされ、かつ両出力
ポート6A・6B間が短絡され、第2位置RPで、第2
入力ポート5Bと第1出力ポート6Aとが連通し、かつ
第1入力ポート5Aがブロックされるようになってい
る。
力ポート5Aと第1出力ポート6Aとが連通するので、
第1入力ポート5Aに接続された第1減圧弁2で設定さ
れた比較的高圧P1がエアシリンダ7に作用する。そし
て電磁弁4を中立位置CPにすると、エアシリンダ7に
空気圧が作用しないので、コイルばね8の弾発力でピス
トンロッド9が収縮位置となる無負荷状態が維持され
る。そして電磁弁4を第2位置RPにすると、第2入力
ポート5Bと第1出力ポート6Aとが連通するので、第
2入力ポート5Bに接続された第2減圧弁3で設定され
た比較的低圧P3がエアシリンダ7に作用する。

する。
み込まれた熱板11を、燃料タンクTの開口12の周囲
とフィラーチューブ接続口Fのフランジ13との間に挟
み込み、電磁弁4を第1位置LPにして上記のエアシリ
ンダ7に高圧エア(P1)を供給した状態でフランジ1
3を開口12の周囲に押し付ける。これを所定時間継続
し、開口12の周囲とフランジ13との平行度が整う程
度に互いの接合面同士を面出し溶融する。
リンダ7を無負荷にし、例えば加圧装置の自重(P2)
のみが加わるようにする(図3参照)。この状態を所定
時間維持し、開口12の周囲とフランジ13との接合面
同士を溶着可能な程度に溶融する。この時の圧力は、シ
リンダ内圧を大気解放として自重のみが加わるようにす
ることに限定されず、別の減圧弁で設定された適宜な圧
力が加わるようにしても良いし、場合によっては自重よ
りも軽くなるようにシリンダに逆向きのストロークを与
えるように構成しても良い。
ラーチューブ接続口Fを引き出し、熱板11を離脱させ
る。なお、このフィラーチューブ接続口F並びに熱板1
1の移動工程は、公知のスイングアームを用いた工業用
ロボットなどを適宜に利用することができる。
接続口FをタンクT内に再び挿入し、電磁弁4を第2位
置RPにしてエアシリンダ7に低圧エア(P3)を供給
した状態で開口12の周囲にフランジ13を押し付け
る。この状態を所定時間継続し、両者の溶融部分を接着
させ、かつ冷却固化させる。
合面同士の平行度を整えるのに要する圧力および接合面
同士を溶着するのに要する圧力が個々に最適設定される
ので、面出しに要する時間を短縮でき、かつ溶融深さが
不均一になることを回避できることから、製造効率を高
め、かつ溶着品質を均一化する上に多大な効果を奏する
ことができる。
Claims (1)
- 【請求項1】 熱可塑性合成樹脂材からなる燃料タンク
に形成された開口の周囲に熱可塑性合成樹脂材からなる
筒状のフィラーチューブ接続口に形成されたフランジを
溶着する合成樹脂成形品の溶着装置であって、 前記燃料タンクに向けて前記フランジに押圧力を加える
べく空気圧で作動するシリンダ装置と、 前記開口の周囲と前記フランジとの間に熱板を挟んで互
いの接合面の平行度が整うように溶融する過程における
前記シリンダ装置への供給圧力を設定する第1減圧弁
と、 前記熱板を取り外した上で互いの接合面を溶着する過程
における前記シリンダ装置への供給圧力を設定する第2
減圧弁と、 前記第1減圧弁並びに前記第2減圧弁と前記シリンダ装
置との間の連通状態を切り換える3位置の4方電磁弁と
を備えることを特徴とする合成樹脂成形品の溶着装置。
