Description
の車両用灯具を形成する灯具ボディと、その開口部を被
蓋する前面レンズ等との接合予定部を両者間の接合部に
発生させた振動によって直接溶着して成る車両用灯具に
係り、特に両者の振動溶着時に固定側の灯具ボディ等の
共振を防止して振動溶着を有効に実施する車両用灯具の
振動溶着方法及びその装置に関するものである。
具ボディ51等に対して同じく熱可塑性合成樹脂からな
る前面レンズ52等との接合予定部を振動溶着して接合
する所謂振動溶着方法により製造した車両用灯具が提案
されている。この方法により製造する車両用灯具は、車
両用灯具の灯具ボディ51のフランジ部分等の接合面5
3に対して前面レンズ52等の溶着脚54を接触させ、
両者を当接させた状態で加圧し、一方を他方に対して振
動させることにより摩擦熱を発生させて溶融した灯具ボ
ディ51等の接合面53に前面レンズ52等の溶着脚5
4を嵌入させるようにして溶着している。この種の振動
溶着によって製造される車両用灯具は、図9に示すよう
に、ボディ受治具55に灯具ボディ51側の接合面53
を上向きにして装着すると共に、レンズ受治具56に上
記灯具ボディ51の接合面53に溶着脚54の先端を対
向させて前面レンズ52を装着し、一般的にはボディ受
治具55と共に灯具ボディ51を上昇させてその接合面
53をレンズ受治具56に装着した前面レンズ52側の
溶着脚54に加圧当接(矢印Y方向)させた後、レンズ
受治具56側、即ち前面レンズ52を振動(矢印X方
向)させて溶着脚54の先端、接合面53との間に摩擦
熱を発生させて接合面53と溶着脚54を部分的に溶融
接合する振動溶着装置によって製造されている。
従来の振動溶着装置にあっては、前面レンズ52側を振
動させると、灯具ボディ51側の加圧接触の強度や両者
の当接面の大小等の諸条件の変化等の事情によって、灯
具ボディ51、特に前面レンズ52の溶着脚54との当
接部である接合面53が前面レンズ52の振動に共振し
てしまい、振動溶着に必要な程度の摩擦熱が発生せず、
溶着ができなく成るという問題があり、その対策として
灯具ボディ51の接合面53の外側にボディ受治具55
に形成した溝等に係合する折り返し部(図示していな
い)を嵌め合わせて共振を防止する等の方法も提案され
ていた。しかし、車両用灯具、特に灯具ボディ51の形
状によっては、折り返し部を形成することができないも
のがある。また底の浅い偏平な形状に形成された灯具ボ
ディ51等では、ボディ受治具55への嵌め込みが浅い
ことから、前面レンズ52の振動に連動して灯具ボディ
51がボディ受治具55から外れてしまい溶着作業がで
きない等の問題が有った。
びその装置は、上記問題に鑑みて創案されたものであ
り、底の浅い薄型の灯具ボディの接合面と、前面レンズ
の溶着脚間等、部材間の振動溶着に際し、固定側の灯具
ボディ等の共振の発生を防止して両者の当接部間に十分
な摩擦熱を発生させ、振動溶着効果を向上することを目
的とするものである。
に、本発明に係る車両用灯具の振動溶着方法は、車両用
灯具を構成する合成樹脂製の一方の部材である灯具ボデ
ィを保持するボディ受治具と、同じく合成樹脂製の他方
の部材である前面レンズを保持するレンズ受治具と、か
つ前記ボディ受治具には灯具ボディよりも硬度が高く、
先端が尖った凸部を備えた安定部材を備え、灯具ボディ
をボディ受治具に、また前面レンズをレンズ受治具に固
定すると共に、灯具ボディの裏面に前記安定部材を食い
込ませ、灯具ボディの接合面の上面に前面レンズの溶着
脚の先端を加圧接触させた後、ボディ受治具又はレンズ
受治具の一方を加圧方向に対して直交する方向へ振動さ
せて灯具ボディと前面レンズを振動溶着させることを要
旨とするものである。上記安定部材の構成により、前面
レンズの振動時に灯具ボディ側が共振することがなく、
十分に摩擦熱を発生させることができる。
用灯具を構成する合成樹脂製の一方の部材である灯具ボ
ディを保持するボディ受治具と、同じく合成樹脂製の他
方の部材である前面レンズを保持するレンズ受治具と、
かつ前記ボディ受治具には灯具ボディよりも硬度が高
く、先端が尖った凸部を備えた安定部材を構成したもの
である。

が前記灯具ボディの後面所定個所に位置すべく、ボディ
受治具の内面に穿設した固定孔内に固設されるように構
成することができる。

成してもよい。
振動溶着方法の好適な発明の実施の形態について説明す
る。本発明に係る車両用灯具の振動溶着方法は、車両用
灯具1を構成する合成樹脂製の一方の部材である灯具ボ
ディ2を保持するボディ受治具12と、同じく合成樹脂
製の他方の部材である前面レンズ4を保持するレンズ受
治具13と、かつ前記ボディ受治具12には灯具ボディ
2よりも硬度が高く、先端が尖った凸部を備えた後述す
る安定部材19,23,25等を備え、灯具ボディ2を
ボディ受治具12に、また前面レンズ4をレンズ受治具
13に固定すると共に、灯具ボディ2の裏面に前記安定
部材19,23,25等を食い込ませた後、ボディ受治
具12又はレンズ受治具13の一方を振動させて灯具ボ
ディ2と前面レンズ4を振動溶着させるように構成した
ものである。
いる振動溶着装置は、以下のように構成されている。即
ち、図1は本発明に係る車両用灯具の振動溶着装置に関
する好適な実施の形態に係り、その全体構造を示す縦断
面図、図2はボディ受治具の構造を示す斜視図、図3は
安定部材の第一の実施の形態を示すものである。
振動を利用してワークW間の溶着予定部に摩擦熱を発生
させ、この摩擦熱により溶着予定部の材料を溶融し、そ
の後の冷却固化によりワークWを一体化接合するもので
あり、上面にワークWとなる車両用灯具1を構成する灯
具ボディ2を嵌め込むための凹部12aを形成した固定
側のボディ受治具12と、下面にワークWとなる前面レ
ンズ3を嵌め込むための凹部13aを形成した駆動側の
レンズ受治具13と、このレンズ受治具13を電磁振動
させる振動発生装置14とから構成されている。
板下面に高剛性の弾性体16,16を介して振動体17
を所定方向、図中左右(横)方向へ可動自在に吊り下げ
ると共に、その左右両側に電磁石18,18を対向配置
し、上記振動体17の下部にレンズ受治具13を固定す
る。従って、左右の電磁石18,18に交互に電流を流
すことにより、振動体17を左右(横)方向へ交互に吸
着して電磁振動を発生させ(矢印X方向)、その下部に
固設したレンズ受治具13を振動体17と共に振動させ
ることができる。本発明に係る振動溶着方法を施すに際
して、上記振動体17の電磁振動は、例えば周波数24
0Hz程度の左右方向への振動として発生させるように
構成したものである。なお、この電磁振動の発生方法
は、上記のような構成に限定されず、適宜変様すること
により同様の電磁振動を発生させることができるもので
あることは勿論である。
よって製造する車両用灯具1は、熱可塑性の合成樹脂製
の部材、即ち灯具ボディ2の開口周縁部に側方へ向かっ
て張り出した接合面3(フランジ等)に、同じく熱可塑
性の合成樹脂製の部材、即ち前面レンズ4等の裏面周縁
部に形成した溶着脚5(シール脚部等)の先端を直接振
動溶着により接合するものであり、特に灯具ボディ2の
構造が、車体側の構造に対応して底の浅い薄型に形成さ
れたものである。従って、前面レンズ4側の振動に連動
して灯具ボディ2がボディ受治具12から外れてしまい
溶着作業ができない構造に成っている。
おいては、上記のような共振し易い車両用灯具1の灯具
ボディ2をボディ受治具12の凹部12a内に収容した
ときに、その下面にやや食い込んで凹部12a内におけ
る灯具ボディ2の下面や接合面3の横滑りを防止する安
定部材19を構成する。本実施の形態においては、ボデ
ィ受治具12の上面に形成した凹部12aの内面に1又
は2以上の安定部材19,19…を埋設し(図2参
照)、その上部に形成した複数の角錐状又は円錐状の凸
部20,20がボディ受治具12の内面に突出し(図3
参照)、その上部に装着した灯具ボディ2の下面に食い
込ませることができるように成っている。また、この安
定部材19は、本実施の形態においては、ボディ受治具
12の外側から挿入したボルト部材21によってボディ
受治具12の凹部12a内面に穿設した固定孔22内に
螺合締結される構造に成っており、適宜その数を増減し
て使用することも可能である。
2a内に埋設したボディ受治具12に灯具ボディ2(他
方のワークW)を上向きに嵌め込み、所望により接合面
3の周縁に形成したリブ(図示していない)をボディ受
治具12側の溝部(図示していない)に嵌合固定すると
共に、レンズ受治具13の下面に形成した凹部13a内
に前面レンズ4(一方のワークW)を下向きに、即ち溶
着脚5を下方に向けて固定する。しかる後、ボディ受治
具12を適宜昇降機(図示していない)によって上昇さ
せ(矢印Y方向)、ボディ受治具12とレンズ受治具1
3との間にワークW(灯具ボディ2と前面レンズ4)を
挟み込み、ワークW間の接合予定部、即ち灯具ボディ2
の接合面3の上面に前面レンズ4の溶着脚5の先端を加
圧接触させると共に、上記振動発生装置14によってレ
ンズ受治具13に、加圧方向に直交する例えば振幅1〜
1.2mmの程度の電磁振動を発生させ、加圧接触部に
局部的な摩擦熱を発生させて振動溶着作業を実施する。
このように本発明に係る車両用灯具の振動溶着装置によ
れば、ボディ受治具12の凹部12a内に装着した灯具
ボディ2がレンズ受治具13側の振動、即ち前面レンズ
4の振動に共振することがなく、加圧接触部に有効に摩
擦熱を発生させることができる。
の振動溶着装置に係る第二の実施の形態を示すものであ
る。この実施の形態においては、上端に鋭角に形成した
エッジ23aを形成した角柱状の安定部材23を使用し
ており、ボディ受治具12に装着した灯具ボディ2の接
合部3の下面の付け根部分に上記エッジ23aを食い込
ませ、接合部3部分の共振の発生を強制的に防止しよう
とするものであり、レンズ受治具13の振動方向に直交
してエッジ23aが嵌め込まれている。この安定部材2
3は共振を発生し易い灯具ボディ2の接合部3側に1又
は2個所に設置すれば足りるが、レンズ受治具13の振
動両方向に設置してもよいことは勿論である。また、こ
の安定部材23は、ボディ受治具12における灯具ボデ
ィ2の接合部3を載せる台部に縦方向に穿設した孔(図
示していない)内に落とし込むように装置し、かつボデ
ィ受治具12の側方からボルト部材24等を用いて抜け
止め装着する構造に成っている。また、灯具ボディ2の
反対側には折り返し部2aを形成して、該反対側の防振
効果を高める構造としてもよい。
の振動溶着装置に係る第三の実施の形態を示すものであ
り、上記第二の実施形態と異なる部分について説明す
る。本実施の形態に係る安定部材25は、上記第二の実
施の形態における安定部材23のエッジ23aに代えて
その上面に滑り止め用のローレット25aを形成したも
のである。このローレット25aは、灯具ボディ2の接
合部3に折り返し部2aが形成されているような場合に
は、この灯具ボディ2の裏面における折り返し部2aの
形成部位までの幅S内に丁度嵌まり合う幅を有すること
が望ましい。これにより、灯具ボディ2の接合部3側の
共振防止効果をより向上することが可能に成る。
は、その実施の形態として固定側として灯具ボディ2
を、また振動側として前面レンズ4を例として説明して
いるが、車両用灯具に用いるその他の部材間の振動溶着
装置としても使用することができることは勿論である。
及びその装置は、以上のように構成したから、底の浅い
灯具ボディに対する前面レンズの振動溶着作業に際して
も固定側の灯具ボディが前面レンズの振動に連動してボ
ディ受治具から外れたり、共振することがなく、適度な
加圧力で摩擦熱を発生させ接合面を十分溶融させること
ができ、前面レンズに対する溶着性を向上することがで
きる。しかも、前面レンズの振動に際して安定部材が灯
具ボディの裏面側に食い込んでボディ受治具内に固定す
る構造に成っているため、完成した車両用灯具の表面側
に傷を付けることもなく製品上の問題も発生しない等、
本発明により得られる効果は極めて大きい。

Claims (4)
- 【請求項1】 車両用灯具を構成する合成樹脂製の一方
の部材である灯具ボディを保持するボディ受治具と、同
じく合成樹脂製の他方の部材である前面レンズを保持す
るレンズ受治具と、かつ前記ボディ受治具には灯具ボデ
ィよりも硬度が高く、先端が尖った凸部を備えた安定部
材を備え、 灯具ボディをボディ受治具に、また前面レンズをレンズ
受治具に固定すると共に、灯具ボディの裏面に前記安定
部材を食い込ませ、灯具ボディの接合面の上面に前面レ
ンズの溶着脚の先端を加圧接触させた後、ボディ受治具
又はレンズ受治具の一方を加圧方向に対して直交する方
向へ振動させて灯具ボディと前面レンズを振動溶着させ
ることを特徴とする車両用灯具の振動溶着方法。 - 【請求項2】 車両用灯具を構成する合成樹脂製の一方
の部材である灯具ボディを保持するボディ受治具と、同
じく合成樹脂製の他方の部材である前面レンズを保持す
るレンズ受治具と、かつ前記ボディ受治具には灯具ボデ
ィよりも硬度が高く、先端が尖った凸部を備えた安定部
材を備えたことを特徴とする車両用灯具の振動溶着装
置。 - 【請求項3】 ボディ受治具に保持する灯具ボディは奥
行きが浅く形成して成るものであり、前記安定部材が前
記灯具ボディの後面所定個所に位置すべく、ボディ受治
具の内面に穿設した固定孔内に固設されるように構成し
たことを特徴とする請求項2の車両用灯具の振動溶着装
置。 - 【請求項4】 前記安定部材は、その先端が灯具ボディ
の接合面の裏面に食い込む位置に構成して成るものであ
ることを特徴とする請求項2の車両用灯具の振動溶着装
置。
