Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、プラスチック製充填材
の超音波加工方法に係り、詳しくは冷却塔等の気液接触
塔内に充填する充填材や、浄化槽内に微生物保持体とし
て用いるプラスチック製充填材の超音波による加工方法
に関する。
【0002】
【従来技術及びその課題】従来、充填材の加工方法は、
プラスチック製充填材シート(以下「シート」という)
同士間をスペーサ部で接着一体化し、組立てを行ってい
たが、接着手段としては有機溶剤型接着剤や二液型接着
剤を用いて接着を行っていた。
【0003】しかしながら、上記有機溶剤型接着剤を用
いた場合には、溶剤の揮散による悪臭等の作業環境が問
題であり、上記二液型接着剤を用いた場合は、接着加工
作業が煩雑であるので、非効率的であり、かつ加工コス
トが高くつく等の問題があった。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、上記課題を解
決するための超音波加工方法であって、その要旨は、多
数の突設部を有するプラスチック製充填材シートの該突
設部を、他のプラスチック製充填材シートに当接し、該
当接箇所を超音波発振機により、スポット溶着すること
を特徴とするプラスチック製充填材の超音波加工方法で
ある。
【0005】以下、本発明を図面に基づき具体的に説明
する。図1は本発明で用いるシートを斜視図で示し、図
2は本発明でスポット溶着する状態を一部断面略図で示
す。
【0006】図1に斜視図で示す如く、本発明で用いる
充填材を構成するシートAは、肉厚0.3〜0.5mmの
プラスチックシートを真空成形法等により型成形して、
タテ、ヨコ略等間隔に突設部A−1を形成し、必要に応
じ突設部A−1を除く全面を波形に成形(不図示)した
ものである。
【0007】上記シートAの突設部A−1を介して、他
のシートA面に溶着するには、図2に一部断面略図で示
す如く、超音波発振機1からコード11により分岐連設
した溶着機本体2を、ホルダー3に複数取付け、該溶着
機本体2の振動子21に付設した工具ホーン22の先端
を、シートA、B同士の溶着部位に合わせ超音波発振に
より溶着するものである。
【0008】シートA、B同士の溶着部位は、図示の如
くシートAの突設部A−1上にシートBの下面を重ね合
わせ、該シートBの上面側で突設部A−1の当接部位上
に、溶着機本体2の工具ホーン22の先端部23を押し
当てて溶着するものである。
【0009】本発明で用いる上記超音波発振機1は、発
振周波数が15〜40KHzの範囲であり、工具ホーン
22の材質はチタン合金製或いはアルミニウム製で、そ
の先端部23の面を滑り止めのローレット加工を施して
あり、振幅は10〜40μmである。また溶着機本体2
に加える荷重(工具ホーン22の先端にかかる荷重)は
400〜900gであり、超音波振動をシートに加える
時間は1〜2秒である。

【実施例】肉厚0.4mmのシートA、B同士を図2に示
す如く重ね合わせ、超音波発振機1の周波数を28KH
zにセットし、溶着機本体2の振幅を25μmに調整
し、チタン合金製の工具ホーン22の先端にローレット
加工を施した先端部23を、シートAの突設部A−1上
のシートB上面に当て、600gの荷重を加えて2秒間
押圧した結果、該当接箇所でシートA及びBが確実に溶
着し強固に接合した。

【発明の効果】本発明は、上記構成よりなるので下記効
果を奏する。即ち、超音波エネルギーにより、シート同
士の溶着は複数箇所を同時に簡単かつ強固に接合できる
ので、従来のような接着剤使用に伴う作業環境の悪化
や、煩雑な接着加工作業を行うこと等から解放され、安
全で衛生的作業環境のもとで効率よく充填材の組立て接
合作業を行うことができる。
