Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は超音波接着方法の改良、詳しくは、熱
可塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せを超音波ホーンで押圧
して、重ね合せ面に超音波ホーンで押圧した範囲
の溶着を生ぜしめる接着方法の改良に関する。
従来、上述のような超音波接着方法において
は、熱可塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せ面が共に滑かな
面か、一方が滑かな面で他方がしぼ乃至は梨地の
エンボス加工した面か、あるいは共にしぼ乃至は
梨地のエンボス加工した面であり、超音波ホーン
の押圧面を熱可塑性樹脂材料の当接面に喰い込ま
せるまで十分に押圧しないと、重ね合せ面に十分
な強度の溶着を生じさせることができなかつた。
したがつて、熱可塑性樹脂材料の当接面には超音
波ホーンで押した陥没が生ずるし、また、上述の
ような強い押圧力を必要とするために、超音波ホ
ーンの押圧面積すなわち、一回の押圧で溶着させ
得る面積を余り大きくできないと云う問題があ
り、大きな面積の溶着を得るためには何回も位置
を変えて押圧せねばならず、その押圧の数だけ陥
没を生ぜしめることになる。
本発明は、陥没を生ぜしめることなくて、重ね
合せ面に十分な強度の溶着を生ぜしめることがで
き、したがつてまた、超音波ホーンの押圧面積を
大きくもできる超音波接着方法を提供するもので
あり、本発明の方法は、熱可塑性樹脂材料の重ね
合せを超音波ホーンで押圧して、重ね合せ面に超
音波ホーンで押圧した範囲の溶着を生ぜしめる接
着方法において、予め接着する重ね合せ面の少く
とも一方に、凹みの縁に盛り上りが生ずるような
凹凸処理を施すことを特徴とする。
以下、本発明を図面に基づいて説明する。
第1図は本発明の方法によつて超音波接着を行
う状態を示す側面図、第2図は凹凸処理方法の一
例を示す側面図、第3図は凹凸処理したポリプロ
ピレンシートの平面図である。
第1図において、1はアンビル、2および3は
重ね合せ面2aおよび3aを接着すべくアンビル
1上に重ねて置かれた熱可塑性樹脂材料のポリプ
ロピレンシート、4は超音波ホーンであり、ポロ
プロピレンシート2の重ね合せ面2aにおける超
音波ホーン4で押圧される部分には、予め、図示
のように凹み2bの縁に盛り上り2cの生ずる凹
凸処理が施されている。なお、ポリプロピレンシ
ート2および3の地の重ね合せ面2aおよび3a
と、それらの面の反対面は、それぞれ滑かな面で
あつても、しぼ乃至は梨地のエンボス加工面であ
つてもよい。このようなポリプロピレンシート2
と3の重ね合せを超音波ホーン4によりアンビル
1との間で押圧すると、超音波ホーン4の押圧面
4aをポリプロピレンシート3の上面に喰い込ま
すまで押圧しなくても、すなわちポリプロピレン
シート3の上面に陥没を生ぜしめるまで押圧しな
くても、従来陥没を生ぜしめるまで押圧しなくて
は得られなかつたような強度の溶着を重ね合せ面
2aと3aの間に生ぜしめることができる。それ
は前述のような凹凸処理による盛り上り2cに超音
波ホーンによつて与えられる振動エネルギが集中
して、そこが真先に溶融し、それが迅速な波乃効
果に繋がるためと考えられる。このような凹凸処
理は、図示例のように、重ね合せ面の一方2aだ
けに施してもよく、また両方2aおよび3aに施
せば一層の効果がある。
第2図に示した凹凸処理の方法は、四角断面の
多数の突起5aを有する加熱金属型5を、アンビ
ル1上に置いたポリプロピレンシート2の上面に
押し付けて、突起5aを喰い込ます方法である。
第3図はこの方法によつて得られたポリプロピレ
ンシート2の処理面を示しているが、加熱金属型
5における突起5aの配列はこの図のような縦横
整列した配列でなくてもよいし、超音波ホーン4
の押出面4aに合せて配列は自由に変えることが
できる。
第2図の加熱金属型5を用いる方法は、突起5
aの基底面5bがポリプロピレンシート2に当る
まで喰い込ますと、凹みの縁の盛り上りがつぶれ
て本発明の効果が減少するから、そこまでは喰い
込まさないようにするのがよい。その点、例えば
角錐状の突起を有して基底面の殆んどない加熱金
属型を用いると、基底面が当るまで喰い込ませて
も本発明の効果は殆んど失われない。
また、凹凸処理は、突起を有する加熱金属型を
用いる上述の例に限らず、熱可塑性樹脂材料がポ
リプロピレンシートのように比較的柔かく弾性の
あるものならば、例えば釘の先で引つ掻くような
方法でもよい。それでも引つ掻いてできた凹みの
縁には盛り上りが生じて本発明の効果を得ること
ができる。しかし、安定した効果と、処理の容易
さ等の点からすると、加熱金属型を用いる方法が
好ましい。
本発明の方法は、熱可塑性樹脂材料がポリプロ
ピレンよりなる場合に特に優れた効果が見られる
が、それに限定されるものではなく、広く超音波
接着可能な熱可塑性樹脂材料に対して利用するこ
とができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 熱可塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せを超音波ホーン
    で押圧して、重ね合せ面に超音波ホーンで押圧し
    た範囲の溶着を生ぜしめる接着方法において、予
    め接着する重ね合せ面の少くとも一方に、凹みの
    縁に盛り上りが生ずるような凹凸処理を施すこと
    を特徴とする超音波接着方法。 2 前記凹凸処理が多くの突起を有する加熱金属
    型の該突起部分を熱可塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せ面
    に喰い込ませる方法である特許請求の範囲第1項
    記載の超音波接着方法。 3 前記熱可塑性樹脂材料がポリプロピレンシー
    ト乃至はフイルムである特許請求の範囲第1項ま
    たは第2項記載の超音波接着方法。
