Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 可塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せを超音波ホーンで押圧して、
重ね合せ面に超音波ホーンで押圧した範囲の溶着を生ぜ
しめる接着方法の改良に関する。
従来、上述のような超音波接着方法においては、熱可塑
性樹脂材料の重ね合せ面が共に滑か力面か、一方が滑か
な面で他方がしぼ乃至は梨地のエンボス加工した面か、
あるいは共にしぼ乃至は梨地のエンボス加工した面であ
や、超音波ホーンの押圧面を熱可塑性樹脂材料の当接面
に喰い込ませるまで十分に押圧しないと、重ね合せ面に
十分な強度の溶着を生じさせることができなかった。し
たがって、熱可塑性樹脂材料の当接面には超音波ホーン
、で押L7た陥没が生ずるし、また、上述のようガ強い
押圧力を必要とするために1超音波ホーンの押圧面積す
なわち、一回の押圧で溶着させ得る面積を余り大きくで
きないと云う問題があり、大きな面積の溶着を得るため
には何回屯位置を変えて押圧せねばなら.ず、その押圧
の数だけ陥没を生ぜしめることになる。
本発明は、陥没を生ぜしめることなくて、重ね合せ面に
十分な強度の溶着を生ぜしめることができ、したがって
また、超音波ホーンの押圧面積を大きくもできる超音波
接着方法を提供するものであり、本発明の方法は、熱可
塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せを超音波ホーンで押圧して、重
ね合せ面に超音波ホーンで押圧した範囲の溶着を生ぜし
める接層方法において、予め接着する重ね合せ面の少く
とも一方に、凹みの縁に盛に上りが生ずるような凹凸処
理を施すことを特徴とする。
以下、本発明を図面に基づいて説明する。
第1図は本発明の方法によって超音波接着を行う状態を
示す側面図、第一図は凹凸処理方法の一例を示す側面図
、第3図は凹凸処理したポリプロピレンシートの平面図
である。
第1図において、lはアンビル、コおよび3は重ね合せ
面コaおよび3aを接着すべくアンビルl上に重ねて置
かれた熱可塑性樹脂材料のポリプロピレンシート、ダは
超音波ホーンであり、ポリプロピレンジートコの重ね合
せ面コaにおける超音波ホーンダで押圧される部分には
、予め、図示のように凹み、2bの縁に盛り土92cの
生ずる凹凸処理が施されている。なお、ポリプロピレン
シート、2よ?よび3の地の重ね合せ面、2aおよび3
aと、それらの面の反対面は、それぞれ滑かな面であっ
ても、しぼ乃至は梨地のエンボス加工面であってもよい
。このようなポリプロピレンジートコと3の血ね合せを
超音波ホーンヶによりアンビルlとの聞で押圧すると、
超音波ホーンqの押圧面4Zaをポリプロピレンシート
3の上面に喰い込ますまで押圧しなくても、すなわちポ
リプロピレンシート3の上面に陥没を生ぜしめるまで押
圧しなくても、従来陥没を生ぜしめるまで押圧しなくて
は得られなかつ念よう々強度の溶着を重ね合せ面−aと
3aの間に生ぜしめることができる。それは前述のよう
な凹凸処理による盛や上り2cに超音波ホーンによ−っ
て4見られる振動エネルギが集中して、そこが真先に溶
融し、それが迅速な波及効果に繋がるためと考えられる
。このような凹凸処理は、図示例のように、重ね合せ面
の一方2aだけに施してもよく、また両方、2aおよび
3aに施せば一1惜の効果がある。
゛ 第2図に示した凹凸処理の方法は、四角断面の多数
の突起jaを有する加”熱金属型jを、アンビルl上に
置いたポリプロピレンジートコの上面に押し付けて、突
起3aを喰い込まず方法である。
第3図はこの方法によって得られたポリプロピレンシー
ト2の処理面を示しているが、加熱金属型jにおける突
起3aの配列はこの図のような縦横整列した配列でなく
てもよいし、超音波ホーンlの押圧面4!aに合せて配
列は自由に変えることができる。
第2図の加熱金属型jを用いる方法は、突起jaの基底
面jt)がポリプロピレンジートコに当るまで喰い込ま
すと、凹みの緑の盛り上りがつぶれて本発明の効果が減
少するから、そこまでは喰い込まさないようにするのが
よい。その点、例えば角錐状の突起を有して基底面の殆
んどない加熱金属型を用いると、基底面が当るまで喰い
込ませても本発明の効果は殆んど失われない。
まに1凹凸処理は、突起を有する加熱金属型を用いる上
述の例に限らず、熱可塑性樹脂材料がポリプロピレンシ
ートのように比較的柔かく弾性のあるものならば、例え
ば釘の先で引っ掻くような方法でもよい。それでも引つ
掻い勲できた凹みの縁には盛LHが生じて本発明の効果
を得−ることかできる。しかし、安定した効果と、処理
の容易さ等の点からすると、加熱金属型を用いる方法が
好ましい。
本発明の方法は、熱可塑性樹脂材料がポリプロピレンよ
りなる場合に特に優れた効果が見られるが、それに限定
されるものではなく、広く超音波接着可能な熱可塑性樹
脂材料に対して利用することができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1、 熱可塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せを超音波ホーンで押
    圧して、重ね合せ面に超音波ホーンで押圧した範囲の溶
    着を生ぜしめる接着方法において、予め接着する重ね合
    せ面の少くとも一方に、凹みの縁に盛り上知が生ずるよ
    うな凹凸処理を施すことを特徴とする超音波接着方法。 2 前記凹凸処理が多くの突起・を有する加熱金属型の
    該突起部分を熱可塑性樹脂材料の重ね合せ面に喰い込ま
    せる方法である特許請求の範囲第1項記載の超音波接着
    方法。 五 前記熱可塑性樹脂材料がポリプロピレンシート乃至
    はフィルムである特許請求の範囲第1項または第2項記
    載の超音波接着方法。
