偏位制御部材を使用することによって、前記展開可能構造の剛性を第1剛性から第2剛性へ調整することと、

- 細長い医療デバイスであって、
展開可能構成と折り畳まれた構成とを有する展開可能構造と、
前記展開可能構造に操作可能に接続され、選択的移動制限器をさらに含むハンドルと、
遠位ハブに接続された偏位制御部材であって、
前記展開可能構造の剛性を第1剛性から第2剛性に調節するように構成されると共に、
前記選択的移動制限器が前記偏位制御部材と接続して前記偏位制御部材の長手方向移動を制限する場合に、前記第1剛性又は前記第2剛性を維持する
ように構成された前記偏位制御部材と、
を備え、
前記偏位制御部材は、前記選択的移動制限器が前記偏位制御部材と接続されていない場合に自由に移動するように構成される、細長い医療デバイス。 - 前記展開可能構造は、複数のスプラインを備え、
