Claims (21)
- 切り替え可能な光コリメートフィルムを駆動する方法であって、
前記切り替え可能な光コリメートフィルムは、
第1の光透過電極層と、
少なくとも20μmの厚さを有しているコリメート層であって、前記コリメート層は、複数の細長いチャンバを備え、各細長いチャンバは、開口部を有する、コリメート層と、
顔料粒子を備えている双安定電気泳動流体であって、前記双安定電気泳動流体は、各細長いチャンバ内に配置されている、双安定電気泳動流体と、
シール層であって、前記シール層は、前記細長いチャンバの開口部にまたがることによって、前記双安定電気泳動流体を前記複数の細長いチャンバのうちの少なくとも1つ内にシールしている、シール層と、
第2の光透過電極層であって、前記第1の光透過層と第2の光透過層とは、前記コリメート層の両側に配置されている、第2の光透過電極層と
を含み、
前記方法は、時変電圧を前記第1の光透過電極層と第2の光透過電極層との間に印加することを含む、方法。 - 前記コリメート層は、500μm未満の厚さを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記細長いチャンバの高さは、前記コリメート層の厚さ以下であり、前記細長いチャンバの幅は、5μm〜150μmであり、前記細長いチャンバの長さは、200μm〜5mmである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1または第2の光透過電極層は、酸化インジウムスズを備えている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記時変電圧は、第1の極性を有する第1の時間のための第1の電圧と、第2の極性を有する第2の時間のための第2の電圧とを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の電圧は、第1の大きさを有し、前記第2の電圧は、第2の大きさを有し、前記第1の大きさと第2の大きさとは、等しくない、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の電圧は、第1の大きさを有し、前記第2の電圧は、第2の大きさを有し、前記第1の大きさと第2の大きさとは、等しくない、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の電圧と前記第1の時間との積は、第1のインパルスであり、前記第2の電圧と前記第2の時間との積は、第2のインパルスであり、前記第1のインパルスと前記第2のインパルスとは、大きさにおいて等しくない、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の電圧と前記第1の時間との積は、第1のインパルスであり、前記第2の電圧と前記第2の時間との積は、第2のインパルスであり、前記第1のインパルスと前記第2のインパルスとは、大きさにおいて等しい、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記時変電圧は、前記第1の極性を有する第3の時間のための前記第1の電圧と、前記第2の極性を有する第4の時間のための前記第2の電圧とをさらに含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記双安定電気泳動流体は、非極性溶媒中のポリマー官能化顔料粒子および遊離ポリマーを備えている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記細長いチャンバは、前記コリメート層が上方から視認されたとき、行列に配列されており、前記細長いチャンバのより長い寸法は、行に沿って伸び、前記行は、前記細長いチャンバの幅の少なくとも3倍、互いに分離されている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記細長いチャンバは、前記コリメート層が上方から視認されたとき、行列に配列され、同一行内の隣接した細長いチャンバは、30μm未満の間隙によって分離されている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記時変電圧は、大きさにおいて5V〜150Vである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記時変電圧は、大きさにおいて80V〜120Vである、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 請求項1−12のいずれかに記載の方法を使用する切り替え可能な光コリメートフィルムを組み込んだディスプレイ。
- ガラス基板と、請求項1−12のいずれかに記載の方法を使用する切り替え可能な光コリメートフィルムとを備えている窓またはドア。

シール層であって、前記シール層は、前記開口部にまたがることによって、前記双安定電気泳動流体を細長いチャンバ内にシールしている、シール層と
第2の光透過電極層であって、前記第1の光透過層と第2の光透過層とは、前記コリメート層の両側に配置されている、第2の光透過電極層と
を備えている、切り替え可能な光コリメートフィルムと、
薄膜トランジスタのアクティブマトリクスと、
液晶層と、
カラーフィルタアレイと、
電圧源と、
電圧インパルスを前記第1の光透過電極層と第2の光透過電極層との間に提供するためのコントローラと
を備え、
