Abstract
Description
まず、図1及び図2を用いて、実施形態に係るプリンター100の概要を説明する。図1、図2は、実施形態に係るプリンター100の一例を示す図である。
次に、図3を用いて、実施形態に係るラインヘッド6の一例を説明する。図3は、実施形態に係るラインヘッド6の一例を示す図である。なお、各色のラインヘッド6の構成は、同じである。そこで、以下の説明では、ブラックのラインヘッド6を例に挙げて説明する。ブラックのラインヘッド6の説明は、シアン、マゼンタ、イエローの各ラインヘッド6にもあてはまる。
次に、図4を用いて、実施形態に係るノズル7とインクの流路の一例を説明する。図4は、実施形態に係るヘッド60の断面図の一例を示す図である。
次に、図5を用いて、実施形態に係るノズル7でのインクの吐出動作の一例を説明する。図5は、実施形態に係るヘッド60の断面図の一例を示す図である。
次に、図6を用いて、実施形態に係るノズル7の乾燥防止状態の一例を説明する。図6は、実施形態に係るヘッド60の断面図の一例を示す図である。
次に、図7、図8を用いて、実施形態に係るプリンター100の印刷中の乾燥防止制御の一例を説明する。図7は、実施形態に係るプリンター100の印刷中の乾燥防止制御の一例を示す図である。図8は、画像解析に基づく乾燥防止状態への移行と解除のタイミングの設定の一例を示す図である。
(式)T0 > T1 + T2
T0は、基準ドット数の区間の印刷に要する時間である。
T1は、電圧印加開始から乾燥防止状態への移行完了までに要する時間(第1圧電アクチュエーター81と第2圧電アクチュエーター82の変形に要する時間)である。
T2は、第1圧電アクチュエーター81と第2圧電アクチュエーター82への電圧印加を解除してからインクの液面(界面95)がノズル7の先端(吐出口)に到る(戻る)までの時間である。このように、乾燥防止状態への移行に要する時間と、乾燥防止状態を解除してインク吐出可能な状態に戻るまでの時間を考慮して、基準ドット数を定めることができる。
次に、図9を用いて、実施形態に係るプリンター100の印刷ジョブ完了時の乾燥防止制御の一例を説明する。図9は、実施形態に係るプリンター100の印刷ジョブ完了時の乾燥防止制御の一例を示す図である。

Claims (5)
- 共通インク室、複数のノズル、個別インク流路、インク供給路、第1圧電アクチュエーター、及び、第2圧電アクチュエーターと、を含むラインヘッドと、
前記ラインヘッドを制御する制御部と、を含み、
前記個別インク流路は、前記ノズルごとに設けられ、一端が前記ノズルと接続され、
前記インク供給路は、前記個別インク流路ごとに設けられ、一端が前記個別インク流路の他端と接続され、他端が前記共通インク室と接続され、
前記第1圧電アクチュエーターは、前記個別インク流路ごとに設けられ、前記個別インク流路の容積が大きくなる方向と、前記個別インク流路の容積が小さくなる方向に変形でき、
前記第2圧電アクチュエーターは、前記インク供給路ごとに設けられ、
前記ノズルを乾燥防止状態とするとき、
前記制御部は、
前記個別インク流路の容積が大きくなる方向に前記第1圧電アクチュエーターを変形させてインクの界面を前記ノズルの内側に引き込み、
前記第2圧電アクチュエーターを変形させ、インクの前記界面を引き込んだ前記個別インク流路に接続されている前記インク供給路を前記第2圧電アクチュエーターに閉じさせることを特徴とする画像形成装置。 - 前記インク供給路は、前記個別インク流路よりも細いことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画像形成装置。
- 前記インク供給路には突起が設けられ、
前記突起は、
前記第2圧電アクチュエーターに向かう方向に突出し、
変形時に前記第2圧電アクチュエーターが前記インク供給路に圧力を加える方向と向かい合う方向に突出していることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の画像形成装置。 - 前記制御部は、
画像データに基づき、インクを前記ラインヘッドに吐出させ、
前記画像データに基づき、前記ノズルごとに、インクを吐出しない区間が予め定められた基準ドット数以上である連続不吐出区間を認識し、
1ページの印刷中、前記連続不吐出区間がある前記ノズルについて、前記連続不吐出区間の間、前記乾燥防止状態とすることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載の画像形成装置。 - 印刷ジョブの最後のページのインク吐出が完了したとき、
前記制御部は、全ての前記ノズルを前記乾燥防止状態とすることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4の何れか1項に記載の画像形成装置。
