Claims (5)
- 所定の気筒列方向に沿って並んで配置される複数の気筒を有するシリンダブロックと、前記シリンダブロックの上部に連結されるシリンダヘッドと、
前記シリンダヘッドに設けられた排気出口と、
前記排気出口に連結されて下方に延びる円筒状の触媒ケースと、
前記シリンダブロックの前記排気出口が設けられた側の側面に取付けられるウォータポンプと、
ラジエータを迂回する冷却水が常時流通する冷却水戻し通路と、を備えるエンジンの冷却装置であって、
前記冷却水戻し通路は、前記触媒ケースの近傍で前記触媒ケースの周壁に沿って湾曲する曲面部を有することを特徴とするエンジンの冷却装置。 - 前記冷却水戻し通路は、前記シリンダブロックの側面と前記側面に取付けられるカバー部材とによって形成され、
前記カバー部材は、前記曲面部を形成する曲面部形成部を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジンの冷却装置。 - 前記冷却水戻し通路は、前記排気出口の近傍かつ前記触媒ケースの上端の近傍を通過していること特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載のエンジンの冷却装置。
- 前記冷却水戻し通路の上流端部は、冷却水を受け入れる冷却水受入口を有し、
前記冷却水戻し通路の下流端部は、前記ウォータポンプに冷却水を排出する冷却水排出口を有し、
前記冷却水受入口は、前記触媒ケースに対して前記ウォータポンプと反対側に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項3の何れか1項に記載のエンジンの冷却装置。 - 前記シリンダブロックは、前記冷却水排出口の上方に配置され、前記ウォータポンプから冷却水を導入する冷却水導入口を有し、
前記曲面部の上下方向の長さは、前記冷却水排出口の上端から前記冷却水導入口の下端までの長さと略同一であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載のエンジンの冷却装置。
