Abstract
Description
潤滑組成物は、潤滑粘度の油を含む。そのような油には、天然油および合成油、水素化分解、水素化、および水素化仕上に由来する油、未精製油、精製油、再精製油、またはそれらの混合物が含まれる。未精製油、精製油、および再精製油のより詳細な記載は、国際公開第WO2008/147704号の段落番号[0054]〜[0056]に提供されている(同様の開示は、米国特許出願第2010/197536号の[0072]〜[0073]に提供されている)。天然および合成潤滑油のより詳細な記載は、WO2008/147704の段落[0058]〜[0059]にそれぞれ記載されている(同様の開示は、米国特許出願第2010/197536号の[0075]〜[0076]に提供されている)。合成油はまた、フィッシャー・トロプシュ反応によっても生成され得、典型的には、水素化異性化されたフィッシャー・トロプシュ炭化水素またはワックスであり得る。一実施形態では、油は、フィッシャー・トロプシュのガスから液体への合成手順、ならびに他のガスから液体への油により調製され得る。
本発明の潤滑組成物は、官能化オレフィンコポリマーを含有する。有用な一実施形態では、官能化オレフィンコポリマーは、官能化エチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーである。本明細書で使用される場合、「官能化」という用語は、オレフィンポリマーが極性部分の付加により修飾されていることを意味する。極性部分の付加のためのオレフィンポリマーおよびプロセスは、以下により詳述される。
R1は、水素またはC1−5アルキル基(典型的には、水素)であり得、
R2は、水素またはC1−5アルキル基(典型的には、水素)であり得、
Uは、脂肪族、脂環式、または芳香族基であり得るが、但し、Uが脂肪族である場合、脂肪族基は、1〜5個または1〜2個の炭素原子を含有する線状または分岐アルキレン基であり得ることを条件とし、
wは、0〜9または0〜3または0〜1(典型的には、0)であり得る。
本発明の潤滑組成物は、ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーも含む。本明細書で使用される場合、「(メタ)アクリレート」という用語は、容易に理解されるように、メタクリレートまたはアクリレートのいずれかを意味する。
本発明の潤滑組成物は、金属不含耐摩耗剤も含有する。金属不含耐摩耗剤は、潤滑組成物の0.01重量%〜3重量%、0.05重量%〜2重量%、または0.1〜1.5重量%で存在し得る。
潤滑組成物は、任意に他の性能添加剤の存在下で(本明細書で後述するような)、本明細書に記載の方法の生成物を潤滑粘度の油に添加することにより調製され得る。
R3は、水素、1〜24個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル基、または−C(=O)R5により表されるアシル基であり得、
R5は、1〜24個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル基であり得、
各R4は独立して、1〜250個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル基であり得(典型的には、少なくとも1つのR4は、20〜220、または30〜150、35〜140、または40〜96個の炭素原子を含有する)、
n=1〜20、または1〜10であり、
m=1〜3である。
R3は、水素、1〜24個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル基、または−C(=O)R5により表されるアシル基であり得、
R5は、1〜24個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル基であり得、
各R4は、20〜220、または30〜150、35〜140、または40〜96個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビル基であり得、
n=1〜20、または1〜10であり、
m=1である。

1〜220個の炭素原子の各ヒドロカルビル基は、35〜140個、または35〜96個の炭素原子を含有するポリイソブテニル基を含み、
n=1〜8、または2〜8(または、3〜5)であり、
m=1である。
内燃エンジンは、4ストロークエンジンであり得る。内燃エンジンは、排気ガス再循環システムを有しても、有さなくてもよい。内燃エンジンには、排気制御システムまたはターボチャージャーが取り付けられ得る。排出制御システムの例には、ディーゼル微粒子フィルター(DPF)、または選択的触媒還元(SCR)を用いるシステムが含まれる。
Claims (43)
- 潤滑組成物であって、
(a)100℃で測定された2.0mm2/秒〜5.0mm2/秒の動粘度(ASTM D445試験法)を有する基油と、
(b)0.08重量パーセント〜5重量パーセントのエチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーであって、前記エチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーが極性部分でグラフトされている、エチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーと、
(c)0.3重量パーセント〜5重量パーセントのポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーと、
(d)0.05重量パーセント〜5重量パーセントの金属不含耐摩耗剤と、を含み、
150℃でのせん断下の前記潤滑組成物のASTM D4683に従って測定された動的粘度が、1.4mPa.s〜2.8mPa.sである、潤滑組成物。 - 前記エチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーの前記極性部分が、アシル基を含む、請求項1に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記アシル基が、エチレン性不飽和アシル化剤により提供される、請求項2に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記アシル基が、無水マレイン酸、無水イタコン酸、無水クロルマレイン酸、マレイン酸、フマル酸、(メタ)アクリル酸、ケイ皮酸、前述のもののうちのいずれかの反応性エステル、前述のもののうちのいずれかの反応性塩化物、およびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択されるアシル化剤により提供される、請求項2または3に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記エチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーが、前記アシル基と反応して、アミド、イミド、またはエステル連結を形成することができるヒドロカルビルアミンまたはヒドロカルビルアルコールでさらに官能化される、請求項2〜4のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記エチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーが、ヒドロカルビルアミンでさらに官能化され、前記ヒドロカルビルアミンが、芳香族アミンである、請求項5に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記アシル化剤が、無水マレイン酸を含み、前記ヒドロカルビルアミンが、3−ニトロアニリンを含む、請求項6に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記エチレン−α−オレフィンコポリマーが、エチレンとプロピレンとのコポリマーを含み、前記コポリマーが、30molパーセント〜70molパーセントのエチレンを含む、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーが、ポリスチレン標準を使用するゲル浸透クロマトグラフィーにより測定される10,000Da〜80,000Daの重量平均分子量を有する線状ポリマーを含む、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーが、ブロックまたはテーパードブロックコポリマーを含む、請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーが、前記基油に実質的に不溶性である第1のブロック(B1)と、前記基油に実質的に可溶性である第2のブロック(B2)と、を含む、ブロックまたはテーパードブロックコポリマー(P)を含む、請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーが、少なくとも50mol%のC1〜C4の(メタ)アクリレート由来単位を含む第1のブロック(B1)と、少なくとも50mol%のC8〜C32の(メタ)アクリレート由来単位を含む第2のブロック(B2)と、を含む、ブロックまたはテーパードブロックコポリマー(P)を含む、請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記第1のブロック(B1)が、C1〜C4(メタ)アクリレート由来単位から本質的になる、請求項11または12に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記第2のブロック(B2)が、C8〜C24(メタ)アクリレート由来単位から本質的になる、請求項11〜13のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記第1のブロック(B1)が、少なくとも50mol%のC1、C2、C3、またはC4(メタ)アクリレート由来単位のうちの少なくとも2つを含み、前記第2のブロック(B2)が、少なくとも50mol%のC12、C13、C14、C15、C16、C17、またはC18(メタ)アクリレート由来単位のうちの少なくとも2つを含む、請求項11または12に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記第1のブロック(B1)が、少なくとも50mol%のC1、C2、C3、またはC4(メタ)アクリレート由来単位のうちの少なくとも2つから本質的になる、請求項15に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記第2のブロック(B2)が、少なくとも50mol%のC12、C13、C14、C15、C16、C17、またはC18(メタ)アクリレート由来単位のうちの少なくとも2つから本質的になる、請求項15または16に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記第1のブロック(B1)が、芳香族(メタ)アクリレートモノマーを含む、請求項11に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーが、線状、分岐、超分岐、架橋、星形、またはそれらの組み合わせから選択されるポリマー構造を有する、請求項1〜18のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記ポリメタクリレートポリマーが、ブロックまたはテーパードブロックコポリマーを含む少なくとも3本のアームを有する星形ポリマーを含む、請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記アームが、前記基油に実質的に不溶性である内部ブロック(B1)と、前記基油に実質的に可溶性である外部ブロック(B2)と、を含む、ブロックまたはテーパードブロックコポリマー(P)を含む、請求項20に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 星形ポリマーが、3本以上のアームを含み、前記アームが、少なくとも50mol%のC1〜C4の(メタ)アクリレート由来単位を含む内部ブロック(B1)と、少なくとも50mol%のC8〜C24(メタ)アクリレート由来単位を含む外部ブロック(B2)と、を含む、ブロックまたはテーパードブロックコポリマー(P)を含む、請求項20または21に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記内部ブロック(B1)が、C1〜C4(メタ)アクリレート由来単位から本質的になる、請求項21〜22に記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記外部ブロック(B2)が、C8〜C24(メタ)アクリレート由来単位から本質的になる、請求項21〜23のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。
- 前記内部ブロック(B1)が、少なくとも50mol%のC1、C2、C3、またはC4(メタ)アクリレート由来単位のうちの少なくとも2つを含み、前記外部ブロック(B2)が、少なくとも50mol%のC12、C13、C14、C15、C16、C17、またはC18(メタ)アクリレート由来単位のうちの少なくとも2つを含む、請求項21〜24のいずれかに記載の潤滑組成物。

(b)0.05重量パーセント〜2重量パーセントのアミン官能化エチレン−アルファオレフィンコポリマーと、
(c)0.3重量パーセント〜5重量パーセントのポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーであって、前記ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーが、前記基油に実質的に不溶性である少なくとも1つのポリ(メタ)アクリレートブロックを有するブロックコポリマーを含む、ポリ(メタ)アクリレートポリマーと、
