本発明に係る切削インサートは、母材としてSMSを50〜80%水準の超硬合金を使うことによって耐塑性変形性を向上させ、同時に母材に形成されるセラミック薄膜の厚さを薄く形成することによって、高温、高圧下の切削インサートの刃先で微細な塑性変形が発生することを抑制する。
[実施例]
本発明の実施例に係る切削工具に使われた母材である超硬合金は次のような工程を通じて製造したし、本発明の実施例に係る母材との比較のために、多様な組成および工程による超硬合金を共に製造した。
以上のようにセラミック薄膜が形成された切削インサートを次のような条件で耐摩耗性を評価したし、その結果を下記の表2に整理した。
−被削材:Inconel 718Φ100
−Vc(切削速度):50mm/min
−fn(移送速度):0.25mm/rev
−ap(切り込み深さ):2.0mm
−乾/湿式:湿式(wet)
切削インサートに形成された薄膜の密着強度が切削工具に及ぼす影響を確認するために、表1のNo.4の超硬合金母材を使って、超硬合金母材に下記の表3のように多様な金属結合層を形成して適用した後、PVD TiAlNコーティングを遂行して切削インサートを製造し、前記方法と同じ方法で切削性能を評価した。
Claims (8)
- 下記の[式1]によって求められるSMS値が50〜80%である超硬合金母材と、
前記超硬合金母材上に形成された厚さ0.4〜1.5μmのセラミック薄膜を含む、難削材用切削インサート。

SMS=焼結体の飽和磁化値×100/TMS
(TMS=2010×Coの質量比) - 前記超硬合金母材は、Co 4〜8重量%、タングステン(W)を除いた、周期表のうち4族、5族、6族金属で選択される1種以上の金属炭化物、炭窒化物、炭酸窒化物、またはこれらの混合物を含む粒成長抑制剤5重量%以下、残りのWCを含む超硬合金である、請求項1に記載の難削材用切削インサート。
- 前記超硬合金母材はさらに希土類元素1種以上を含み、
前記粒成長抑制剤と希土類元素の合計が5重量%以下である、請求項2に記載の難削材用切削インサート。 - 前記切削インサートは、切削速度(Vc)20〜100mm/minの条件用である、請求項1に記載の難削材用切削インサート。
- 前記超硬合金母材は、デルタまたはフリーカーボンのような異常組織がない、請求項1に記載の難削材用切削インサート。
- 前記超硬合金母材とセラミック薄膜間の密着度はスクラッチテスターで75N以上である、請求項1に記載の難削材用切削インサート。
- 前記セラミック薄膜の硬度は30GPa以上である、請求項1に記載の難削材用切削インサート。
- 前記セラミック薄膜は、PVD法で形成されるTi1−a−bAlaMebN(MeはSi、W、Nb、Mo、Ta、Hf、Zr、Yの中で選択される少なくとも1種、0.3≦a≦0.7、0≦b≦0.1)を含む1層以上で形成される、請求項1に記載の難削材用切削インサート。
