Claims (20)
- 連続的な繊維を中に含む複合構造の成型を行う方法であって、
第一複合材料をモールド中で圧縮するステップと;
前記第一複合材料中にキャビティを形成するステップと;
連続的な繊維を中に含む第二複合材料を、前記第一複合材料中に形成されたキャビティ中に配置するステップと;
前記第一複合材料が前記第二複合材料の縁部へ流れるように、前記第一複合材料を圧縮するステップと;
成型用温度及び成型用圧力の下で前記第一複合材料が前記第二複合材料に結合できるようにすることにより、前記複合構造を形成するステップと、を含む、方法。 - 前記第一複合材料は、不連続な繊維を中に含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第二複合材料を前記キャビティ中に配置する前に、前記複合構造が冷却固化できるようにするステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第一複合材料を加熱することにより、前記第一複合材料が流れて前記第二複合材料に結合できるようにするステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記キャビティを形成するステップは、
前記第一複合材料を前記モールド中で圧縮する前に、取外し可能なツールを前記第一複合材料へ挿入する工程と;
圧縮された前記第一複合材料から前記取外し可能なツールを取り外す工程と、を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記キャビティを形成するステップは、前記第一複合材料の一部を取り除く工程を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 圧縮前に前記モールドのキャビティ中に配置される前記第一複合材料の体積は、前記複合構造に含まれる前記第一複合材料の体積に等しい、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 圧縮前に前記モールドのキャビティ中に配置される前記第一複合材料の体積は、前記複合構造に含まれる前記第一複合材料の体積より小さい、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 圧縮された前記第一複合材料に追加の前記第一複合材料を加えることにより、前記第一複合材料が前記第二複合材料の縁部へ流れて当該第二複合材料に結合できるようにするステップをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記不連続な繊維の長さは、約2インチ以下である、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記連続的な繊維の長さは、約2インチより大きい、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 連続的な繊維を中に含む複合構造の成型を行う方法であって、
第一複合材料をモールド中で圧縮するステップと;
前記第一複合材料中にキャビティを形成するステップと;
連続的な繊維を中に含む第二複合材料を、前記第一複合材料中に形成されたキャビティ中に配置するステップであって、前記第二複合材料は、固体状態であるか又は前記第一複合材料の粘度より大きな粘度を有している、ステップと;
前記第一複合材料が前記第二複合材料の縁部へ流れるように、前記第一複合材料を圧縮するステップと;
成型用温度及び成型用圧力の下で前記第一複合材料が前記第二複合材料に結合できるようにすることにより、前記複合構造を形成するステップと、を含む、方法。 - 圧縮された前記第一複合材料を露出させるとともに前記キャビティの形成を可能にするように、前記モールドを開放するステップをさらに含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記複合構造が冷却できるようにするとともに前記モールドから前記複合構造を取り外すステップをさらに含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記第一複合材料は、不連続な繊維を中に含むマトリックス材料を含む、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記不連続な繊維は、前記第一複合材料に対して体積が約40%以上である、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記第二複合材料が前記キャビティ中に配置される際、前記第二複合材料は、前記第一複合材料よりも低温である、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記連続的な繊維は、前記第二複合材料に対して体積が約40%以上である、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記第一複合材料は、不連続な繊維を中に含むポリマーベースの樹脂マトリックスを含み、前記不連続な繊維は、長さが約2インチ以下であり、前記第一複合材料の約体積の40%以上を占める、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 前記第二複合材料は、連続的な繊維を中に含むポリマーベースの樹脂マトリックスを含み、前記連続的な繊維は、長さが約2インチより大きく、前記第二複合材料の体積の約40%以上を占める、請求項12に記載の方法。
