Description
Claims (15)
- 入力ノードと出力ノードの間を流れる電流を検出する電流センサと、
検出電流が閾値期間を上回る期間にわたって第1の閾値電流を上回る場合に、前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す第1の電流モニタと、
前記検出電流が前記第1の閾値電流より大きい第2の閾値電流を上回る場合に、前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す第2の電流モニタと
を備える装置。 - 前記入力ノードと前記出力ノードとの間にスイッチをさらに備え、
前記第1の電流モニタは、前記検出電流が前記第1の閾値電流を上回る場合に第1の信号をアサートするコンパレータと、前記第1の信号が前記閾値期間を上回る期間にわたりアサートされる場合に第2の信号をアサートするタイマとを備えており、
前記第2の電流モニタは、前記検出電流が前記第2の閾値電流を上回る場合に第3の信号をアサートするコンパレータを備えており、
前記第2の信号または前記第3の信号がアサートされた場合に、前記スイッチが前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す、請求項1に記載の装置。 - 前記出力ノードの電力が5秒間にわたり100ワットを上回る前に、前記第1の電流モニタが前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離すものとなるように、前記第1の閾値電流および前記閾値期間が設定される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記第2の閾値電流が過電流事象を示す値に設定される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記第2の電流モニタは、前記第2の閾値電流を上回る検出電流が検出されてから100マイクロ秒以内に、前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す、請求項1に記載の装置。
- プリント回路アセンブリの入力ノードに電気的に接続される電源を備えるプリンタと、
前記プリント回路アセンブリの出力ノードに電気的に接続される内蔵スキャナアセンブリと
を備え、
前記プリント回路アセンブリが、
前記入力ノードと前記出力ノードの間を流れる電流を検出する電流センサと、
検出電流が閾値期間を上回る期間にわたって第1の閾値電流を上回る場合に、前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す第1の電流モニタと、
前記検出電流が前記第1の閾値電流より大きい第2の閾値電流を上回る場合に、前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す第2の電流モニタと
を備えるものである、多機能装置。 - 前記出力ノードの電力が5秒間にわたって100ワットを上回る前に、前記第1の電流モニタが前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記出力ノードの電力が短絡を示す場合に、前記第2の電流モニタが前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記プリント回路アセンブリが、前記入力ノードと前記出力ノードの間にヒューズを備えており、
前記第1の電流モニタおよび前記第2の電流モニタは、前記ヒューズが飛ぶことを防ぐために前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離す、請求項6に記載の装置。 - 前記内蔵スキャナアセンブリが非難燃性ハウジングを備えている、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 入力ノードと、前記入力ノードに接続された出力ノードとの間を流れる電流を検出するステップと、
検出電流を第1の閾値電流と比較し、前記検出電流が前記第1の閾値電流を上回る場合に第1の信号をアサートするステップと、
前記第1の信号が閾値期間を上回る期間にわたってアサートされた場合に、第2の信号をアサートするステップと、
前記検出電流を、前記第1の閾値電流よりも大きい第2の閾値電流と比較し、前記検出電流が前記第2の閾値電流を上回る場合に第3の信号をアサートするステップと、
前記第2の信号または前記第3の信号がアサートされた場合に、前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードから切り離すステップと
を含む方法。 - 前記第1の閾値電流が、100ワットを上回る前記出力ノードの電力に相当する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記閾値期間が5秒未満である、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記第2の閾値電流が、短絡を示す前記出力ノードの電力に相当する、請求項11に記載の方法。
- リセット事象または電源サイクル事象に応じて、前記入力ノードを前記出力ノードに再接続するステップをさらに含む請求項11に記載の方法。
