Abstract
Description
反射型偏光子は、反射型偏光子を95℃で40分間加熱した場合に、吸収型偏光子との結合に先立ち、第2の遮断軸に沿って0.4パーセント〜3パーセントの範囲の収縮率を有する。
Claims (21)
- 第1の遮断軸を有する吸収型偏光子と、前記第1の遮断軸に対して実質的に平行な第2の遮断軸を有する多層ポリマー反射型偏光子と、を含み、前記吸収型偏光子及び前記反射型偏光子が互いに結合されている偏光子積層体であって、
前記反射型偏光子は、前記反射型偏光子を95℃で40分間加熱した場合に、前記吸収型偏光子との結合に先立ち、前記第2の遮断軸に沿って0.4パーセント〜3パーセントの範囲の収縮率を有する、偏光子積層体。 - 前記吸収型偏光子及び前記反射型偏光子は、接着層を介して互いに結合されている、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記収縮率は、0.5パーセント〜2.5パーセントの範囲である、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記収縮率は、0.6パーセント〜2パーセントの範囲である、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記反射型偏光子とは反対側の前記吸収型偏光子上に配置された接着層を更に含み、前記収縮率は、前記接着層を介してガラスシートに積層された前記偏光子積層体を95℃で100時間加熱した場合に、前記反射型偏光子が、マイクロリンクルを実質的に含まないような収縮率である、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記反射型偏光子とは反対側の前記吸収型偏光子上に配置された接着層を更に含み、前記収縮率は、前記接着層を介してガラスシートに積層された前記偏光子積層体を前記ガラスシートと共に100℃で1000時間加熱した場合に、前記反射型偏光子が、マイクロリンクルを実質的に含まないような収縮率である、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記反射型偏光子の前記収縮率は、前記偏光子積層体を95℃で40分間加熱した場合に、前記第1の遮断軸に沿った前記吸収型偏光子の収縮率の0.9〜3倍である、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記吸収型偏光子は、ポリビニルアルコールを含む、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記吸収型偏光子は、ヨウ素を更に含む、請求項8に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記吸収型偏光子は、少なくとも1つの保護層に結合した光学活性配向ポリマー層を含む、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記光学活性配向ポリマー層は、ポリビニルアルコール及びヨウ素を含む、請求項10に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記光学活性配向ポリマー層は、1〜50マイクロメートルの範囲の厚さを有する、請求項10に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記反射型偏光子は、交互に配置された複数の第1及び第2のポリマー層を含み、前記第1及び第2のポリマー層のうちの少なくとも1つが、複屈折性である、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記反射型偏光子は、交互に配置された複数の第1及び第2のポリマー層を含み、前記第1のポリマー層は、前記第2の遮断軸に沿って第1の屈折率を有し、前記第2のポリマー層は、前記第2の遮断軸に沿って第2の屈折率を有し、前記第2の屈折率は、前記第1の屈折率よりも小さく、前記第2のポリマー層は、100℃未満のガラス転移温度を有する、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記ガラス転移温度は、95℃未満である、請求項14に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記ガラス転移温度は、80℃未満である、請求項14に記載の偏光子積層体。
- 前記ガラス転移温度は、60℃未満である、請求項14に記載の偏光子積層体。
- バックライトと、ガラス層と、請求項1に記載の偏光子積層体と、を含むディスプレイであって、前記偏光子積層体は、反射型偏光子とは反対側の吸収型偏光子上に配置された接着層を更に含み、前記偏光子積層体は、前記接着層を介して前記ガラス層に接着されており、前記偏光子積層体は、前記ガラス層と前記バックライトとの間に配置されている、ディスプレイ。
- 前記反射型偏光子は、前記ガラス層に接着された前記偏光子積層体を95℃で100時間加熱した場合に、マイクロリンクルを実質的に含まない、請求項18に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記反射型偏光子は、前記ガラス層に接着された前記偏光子積層体を95℃で1000時間加熱した場合に、マイクロリンクルを実質的に含まない、請求項18に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記反射型偏光子は、前記ガラス層に接着された前記偏光子積層体を100℃で1000時間加熱した場合に、マイクロリンクルを実質的に含まない、請求項18に記載のディスプレイ。
