Abstract
Description

1)ガイドワイヤをたどってカテーテルを血管の分岐又は鋭い曲がり角まで進める。
2)ガイドワイヤの遠位先端部がカテーテルの屈曲点134より近位の位置までかろうじて来るほどにガイドワイヤを引っ込める。
3)バルーン130を膨張させ、X線透視などにより、カテーテル先端部132が屈曲している方向を可視化する。
4)先端部132が所望の方向を向くようにカテーテルを軸方向に回転させる。

バルーンカテーテルアセンブリを提供するステップであって、前記アセンブリは、近位端部及び遠位先端部を有するカテーテルボディと、前記遠位先端部のそばに取り付けられたバルーンとを含み、前記バルーンは、内部空間が、前記バルーンから前記カテーテルボディの前記近位端部に向かって延びている膨張内腔と流体連通している、前記提供するステップと、
前記バルーンカテーテルアセンブリの前記遠位先端部を体の血管に挿入するステップと、
前記遠位先端部を前記カテーテルボディの長手軸から側方に偏向させるのに十分な流体を、前記膨張内腔を通して前記バルーンの前記内部空間に導入することによって前記バルーンを膨張させるステップと、
前記血管内で、前記偏向された遠位先端部の方向に前記カテーテルアセンブリを前進させるステップと、
